I had to print off my tsfa for the past year, and a lady helped me print the entire thing at no charge (whereas a downtown branch was going to charge me $5 a statement..?!) I also had a cheque dated for the next day that I wanted to deposit, but they generally only allow that once it's 6pm and later (it was about 5.40pm). The man helping me said don't worry I can deposit it and he'll just hold it til 6pm, and I when I checked later that evening it was completed. Only reason it's not a 5 star rating: my home branch (located at Gerrard square) has envelope-free deposits!! You just insert the cash and cheques and it reads it all!! Service though a little slow and confusing as there's a different line for commercial/personal account but when the bank is not busy. I do really like all the perks the bank offers for customers including auto beverage making machine for espresso, coffee and even hot chocolate! There is also a nice lounge area in the front equipped with computer if you want to do some online banking! There are always tons of parking as the lot is huge and only shared with a few shops.

Yet, I don't feel that I should give a one-star review due to technical difficulties and a weird setup with parking. I needed to deposit cash. This RBC was close by, so I paid it a visit. This branch is on the southeast corner of Kennedy and Ellesmere. I was heading northbound, so I made a right turn. There are limited parking spaces that are close to the main entrance. I decided to park at the back. There were more parking spots. There is a ramp and a short set of stairs at the back. I thought that I could use the door, but there was a sign that said use the main entrance. I'm sure there's a reason for this decision. If you are a person parked in one of the accessible spaces, you take the ramp up, and then realize that you need to walk around to the main entrance, it's a huge inconvenience. It was a windy day. I was hoping that the wind would blow me over to the main entrance. Nope. Oh, well. I walked in. This branch has two ATMs. There was a huge lineup for the teller. The lineup was next to me with roughly fifteen people in line. I went to use the ATM. I got a message saying that this ATM can't take deposits right now. Ugh! I got my debit card and walked back to my car. I left and used the drive-thru at my local RBC branch instead. It was smooth. I'm not sure if I'll return here again. It doesn't have a drive-thru and the design is off. Kennedy Road is the only entrance and exit for this branch, which has a lot of traffic at any time of day, just before you hit the 401. (34)

Yesterday, I was at a plaza with a Shoppers Drug Mart. This plaza also has two banks: RBC and CIBC…read more I needed to do a transaction at CIBC. This branch was two doors down from Shoppers Drug Mart. It's a small branch. It's open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5 pm. On Saturdays, it closes an hour early at 4 pm. On Sundays, it's closed. Those hours are decent if you need to speak to a person to do teller services or more complex financial transactions. What surprised me was reading a notice saying that ATMs are only accessible between 8 am to 9 pm. Normally, ATM branch access is 24 hours. The idea is that the lobby where the ATMs are located are available. Technically, it can be or used to be done at this branch, but I don't know enough about the rationale to limit ATM hours. Perhaps there was a recent ATM heist? If you do need to do ATM banking after 9 pm through 8 am, the branch at Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East is available. I used one of the two ATMs at this bank. CIBC and Simplii cards work here without any ATM transaction fees. I liked that I could tap my card and then specify my PIN. It's refreshing to not swipe my card and wear out the magnetic strip over time. My transaction was smooth. The touchscreen had the perfect sensitivity. I like the option to not have a paper printout. I try my best not to use it, to save a tree or two. There is plenty of parking in this plaza. It was great finding this CIBC while running an errand at the drugstore. (162)

After doing some research, I came across the branch at Fairview Mall. It's open on weekdays till 20:00. OMG! I felt like I had hit the jackpot. There were perhaps six customers in line. I was good waiting. I had a busy day and managed to check my e-mail on my phone. The bank manager came over and asked how I was. I have never seen such nice customer service at my local bank. She congratulated me on my car purchase. I think that she also wanted to guide folks to the cash machine if they didn't need to talk to a person at the teller. It was finally my turn to talk to the teller. I asked if I could get a certified cheque. She asked me what it was for and then talked to her colleague beside her. They said that I could do a money order. It was cheaper! $7.50 service change for the money order. The certified cheque? $41.50! Yikes! The rep saved me money, made sure that she had entered all the information in correctly, and explained which copy was mine. She was superb. I feel like changing branches now.

Full counter services are available by queuing up between the railings; I always disliked being treated like an animal but it keeps others from jumping in front of me...so I'll get over it. I've been a life-long TD Bank client even before it merged with Canada Trust; Branch hours and access to Green Machines being at the top of my list!
