Absolutely predatory and manipulative finance company. I requested a simple payment deferral in December 2024, which they ignored for months, only to later pass my file to a sketchy third-party agency (Cancap Group) that isn't even listed in Alberta's public registries. After they issued a repossession election and no deficiency balance agreement--which legally closes the file--they continued emailing me trying to restart the loan and get more payments. I was lied to, pressured, and eventually blocked from contacting them altogether. Their agency threatened legal action if I reported them, hung up when I cited Alberta law, and ghosted me when I asked for transparency. I've since filed complaints with the Alberta Ombudsman, Consumer Protection Alberta, BBB, and am preparing to escalate federally. This is a textbook example of bad faith finance. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH LENDCARE. I obtained a loan with EasyFinancial which was transferred to LendCare. The first time the payments were going to be taken from LendCare, they took out more than double the correct amount. This situation was eventually rectified, but for a company designed to help those with bad credit, taking extra money for no reason seems particularly egregious. When I was ready to pay off the balance of my loan with LendCare, I called more than a dozen times, with most of my calls being dropped after 10 minutes on hold. The 3 times I did get through and ask for loan payout details, the rep on the phone said they would send and that I would receive an email within a day, and that email never came through. Now that the cheque has already been sent to LendCare to close the loan, they are still trying to take payments from me for the account that should be closed. Do not deal with this company. Customer service is not helpful, and your money is not safe with them. read more

I took my cat to the vet. It was expensive. Luckily the vet clinic had a payment plan option. I applied and was approved. It was through Lendcare. My payment was a little over $18 per month. I had it come out of my account every month automatically. Everything was fine for about 6 months until my bank account was the victim of fraud/identity theft. My bank had to immediately shut my account down and I had to go into the branch to open a new account. This occurred at the same time as Lendcare attempted to take their payment. I was unaware that it didn't go through since I had no access to my old account. Two weeks later, my phone started ringing off the hook. Over and over agin. I didn't recognize the number and worried about getting scammed again (since I think this is how the fraudsters got me last time). The calls started happening every 5 minutes. 52 calls in one day. I finally answered. An awful man told me that the $18 had bounced and that I now owe a $95 NSF fee. I told him I wasn't paying it. I wasn't even sure the man who called me was legit. After losing my cool on the phone with him and hanging up on him, I called back with the legitimate number I have. Another person helped me. I needed to provide the new account info and an error letter from my bank and send it via email. I did as they asked. Then my phone kept ringing over and over again from Lendcare. When I answered, they'd hang up. Over and over. The next 3 days in a row, I was called several times a day, each time they're unaware that I've already been called. So far, I have now sent the new banking info and error letter five times. Today they told me the letter from my bank is not accepted and that I will owe $95 in NSF fees. They say it now needs to be stamped and dated. Now I have to go to my branch to do that. They're making it difficult on purpose, I feel. I have a feeling they won't accept the STAMPED letter either. My phone is still ringing all the time. The saga continues. They're smug, relentless, awful to deal with, and I just learned they charge more than 50% interest for poor people. I am going to pay off the balance of my loan, be done with them, and spend the rest of my days telling people to avoid them. Avoid this terrible company. You've been warned. read more

They need a lot of help improving this is supposed to be a credit building loan. It's been nothing but a credit destroying loan and the extra insurance I purchased they put as a second loan, so don't do it. Somehow my signature has been actually initials transferred to these loan papers. Which is now written up as a loan. First off if you call in, you will never get the same person to deal with an issue and if you ask for a copy of your loan, it will take them over six months to get it to you. I received 41 NSF in December 1975 dollars. my bank closed my account. I've tried to resolve this issue by asking to amalgamate both loans( together to pay outright second loan is supposed to be GAP insurance and disability insurance Isigned papers for insurance 1200 filled out the forms in February22 with my doctor and they said they never received it even though it was sent registered mail and still not a word about and it's no September I want to resolve this issue so I offered I would pay them a lump sum. They agreed they gave me an amount. I paid it eight weeks later. I'm starting to get calls again for both loans stating they are unpaid where did my money go i'm going to dispute Equifax and Trans Union. Also, the insurance was turned into alone and it's not my signature. I told him to compare and they will definitely see. I would never sign for a second loan it would not fit in my budget February I filled out for disability insurance registered mailed it to them for six months. I've been asking them and they state they never got it even though it was registered with signature through Canada Post also also they have three different types of interest on your loan They have a no Grace part in their contract that was never there when I signed it. Also, there's a lot more that has changed after I asked for a copy of the contracts. ATV purchase financing. Lendcare was the company my local dealership deals with, so I did not have a choice. Terrible customer service. Employees answer the phone with simply "Hello?" rather than "Lendcare, (Employee) speaking. How may I help you?" If it were not for the automated directory, you would think you had the wrong number. You can hear multiple conversations in the background making your own conversation difficult to follow. No two employees offer the same assistance. I have a voicemail saying my late fee could be waived if I called back ASAP, but no extension was left to call. The person I connected with laughed at me for mentioning the voicemail and said they would never offer that. $75 fee per late payment and interest increased. This company has no integrity, liar and a crooked. I bought a vacuum and the company I dealt with use this financing. Since it had deferred payment of 6 months and as long as I pay it before the due date no interest charge. In short, I paid the loan one week before the due date. I called them to take the whole amount and next thing I knew, there were 2 withdrawals from my account. They took 4500 which I owed and then they took another 582 dollars. My due date was June 15th and the withdrawals were June 10th and 11th. I called them that they took more money than what I owed. They promised to return my money back. Three weeks after I called again to find our why I haven't got my money back. Now, they said the person who did the calculation was right taking that money out coz of the interest. I told them I paid before due date so I shouldn't be charge of that much interest. The person keeps arguing that I owed them that much and won't return my money back and hang up on me. I was mad and frustrated coz I couldn't get my money. They are disgusting and what they did was unlawful. Is there any out there who could advise me what to do. read more

A couple of years ago I went to my local Honda Powerhouse dealer to buy my son a Honda CRF150R dirtbike. The main finance guy was away, so the assistant manager dealt with me on the financing. The recommended LendCare Capital. My son was excited to get the bike and we began the paperwork. Total bike cost with tax - $6,893.64 I came back later to sign and take delivery only to find there were many extra fees on top of the 24.16% interest rate. The required life insurance for a fee of $653.88, even though I have $3M in life insurance already. Then, the required me to have GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) of $795.00. Then they added a $699.00 Registration Fee. A finance fee showed in the box where the PPSA (Lien Registration Fee) is of $2,038.10 - this makes the total to finance $9,585.63 - $2,691.98 in fees before we even leave with the bike. It is a 60-month loan so if I take all 60 months the cost of borrowing is $16,467.10! Almost $10,000 for fees and interest for a kids dirtbike. My son wanted to go riding that weekend and we had spent days dealing with these guys so I thought I would just pay the loan off early to avoid the high-interest charges - which I did later when they took a payment out early one month and they charged me a $75 NSF fee. I argued that they took the payment out early and the $75 fee was above industry norms. No effect. I then learned that the returned payment (even though they simply took it out a couple of days later) bumped the interest rate by10% to 34.16%. This all for a kids dirtbike. I would highly recommend no-one deal with a company that literally rips off its customers. Off-road vehicles have to be insured and registered here which I had done. All these fees and costs are cash-grabs. I now will also go out of my way not to do business with Honda Powerhouse here in Kelowna, BC based on them even referring their long-time customers to a company like LendCare of Ontario. read more
