After seeing quite a few different places we settled on here as it looked quite nice from the outset. So it turns out that on occasion its actually OK to judge a book by its cover. Firstly the staff in here were very nice and welcoming, which is always important when settling in and starting to enjoy a new place. Then the menu was pretty impressive...... all good so far. It was mid morning (as was our next visit) and so we were looking mainly at the breakfast menu. we got the Creme fry each and were not disappointed. It seems like an odd thing to rave about when talking about a fry, but in a fry that was in all aspects well above average, that the mushrooms were one of the stand out features!!!! I think they were done in some kind of salt and chilli combo or something (perhaps not chilli, but something) and were sooooo tasty. The coffee was excellent as well and can be bought separately to take home, so they've clearly done a bit of work getting a decent bean for theirs. There is a wide variety of cakes . muffins and the like that can be bought to have there or to take away and they are excellent. We had some there and they were great. We also bought an olive loaf to take away with us which was one of the best we've had in a while, used it t make some pretty decent sandwiches at home. Certainly will be making a point of going here a good bit more from now on.

It came with onions which wasn't detailed on the menu so I sent it back. To be fair they took it back and made me another order so they get stars for good service and doing the right thing which really pleased me!! Well done!! The downside though was the price which was £10.95 for a plate of eggs and sausage and VERY small bottle of water. I think it was worth £7-£8 but at ££10.95 is definitely overpriced. If the extra chorizo was on the plate it didn't feel like it. not sure what normal looks like but if it is half the sausages for £2 less then it is still overpriced. It was a couple of eggs and 2 cut up sausages. In fairness it was very tasty however the price for what was received left me feeling let down. Maybe this is an oddity on there menu but I will see when I come back again.

We visit family in IOM about every 6 months, we just had breakfast at the Alpine a few days ago…read more(May 2017), very tasty and reasonably priced. Their concept of pop up weekend dinners is fabulous, the week we were there they had smoked meats on the menu for Friday night, and Brazilian for Saturday night, I think 25 sterling fixed price per person for multi course meal. So far we have not been able to experience the pop up dinners but it sounds fantastic. Everything is so delicious, clearly a very talented culinary staff.

It's not one of your trendy, hipster,halogen lit cafes, but clearly a place the locals and business types go to for their morning coffee and take-away lunches. The owner is s friendly young German woman, she has had the business for about 4 years. We had a breakfast bap (sandwich) and a toasted bagel with coffee. The breakfast menu is somewhat limited but lunch options looked tempting, especially the home made roasted red pepper and tomato soup, only £2. The menu is posted on a blackboard and features paninis, toasties and baps, all very reasonably priced (approx £2-£3.50.). I always try to patronize a locally owned cafe rather than corporate chains and franchises which are ubiquitous everywhere you go these days, even on the Isle of Man. Why travel 6000 miles only to patronize the corporate giant with the green logo....you know who I mean!

For a reasonable price, they offer fresh juices, smoothies and other refreshments & foods. I went there everyday of my trip and the one time they screwed up my order, they gave me 2 juices free. Altogether a great place.

I really like this place, it kind of a random place that you imagine should be on some sort of…read morehippy beach somewhere but it's great that it is so offbeat when surrounding it is just a load of dodgy cafes and bars. I've been in for a brew a few times and a bit to eat and the staff were friendly, relaxed and forthcoming for a chat - just the sort of atmosphere you want! The only thing I'd say is that you're never quite sure when it's going to be open, just seems to open when it wants - plus their social media is never updated... Live music seems to also be on quite a bit so a good alternative place to go.
