After seeing quite a few different places we settled on here as it looked quite nice from the outset. So it turns out that on occasion its actually OK to judge a book by its cover. Firstly the staff in here were very nice and welcoming, which is always important when settling in and starting to enjoy a new place. Then the menu was pretty impressive...... all good so far. It was mid morning (as was our next visit) and so we were looking mainly at the breakfast menu. we got the Creme fry each and were not disappointed. It seems like an odd thing to rave about when talking about a fry, but in a fry that was in all aspects well above average, that the mushrooms were one of the stand out features!!!! I think they were done in some kind of salt and chilli combo or something (perhaps not chilli, but something) and were sooooo tasty. The coffee was excellent as well and can be bought separately to take home, so they've clearly done a bit of work getting a decent bean for theirs. There is a wide variety of cakes . muffins and the like that can be bought to have there or to take away and they are excellent. We had some there and they were great. We also bought an olive loaf to take away with us which was one of the best we've had in a while, used it t make some pretty decent sandwiches at home. Certainly will be making a point of going here a good bit more from now on.

Alessandro's has a wonderful homely feel to it and dishes are almost rustic - which is great when you're away from home and in need of some good comfort food. On my last visit, I had the spaghetti with prawns and asparagus in a tomato and cream based sauce - all ingredients complemented each other well, although a little heavy for me. Service was impeccable especially as we were a rather large (8+) group. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of other guests present given it was a Wednesday night. All in all, Alessandro's is a great place for a quick and fillig Italian meal, with a buzz.

Food was excellent, atmosphere was fun and overall vibe was fantastic. Neal kept an eye on everything and everyone and kept the tables turning while Mitch (who I'm pretty sure is an international man of mystery) schmoozed like no other. Highly recommend. Hopefully I'll return for the race in the future and they can roll out the red carpet for Lord Fancy Pants once again.

Their pizza dough is made on-site as is the bread they use for the bruschettas. It was quite busy the night we were there as it was TT week. But all the staff tried to make it a memorable experience. Our server was new, she was quite young, but acted like a pro, never got flustered and always had a smiley face. Prices were average for the Island. I will definately return on the next trip.

My pasta was great, the garlic soup was AMAZING (I've never heard of a creamy garlic soup with pesto drizzle before but now I pretty much wake up dreaming about it), and my boyfriend loved his personal pizza. The lattes we got for desert were too huge and watery. Had difficulty finishing them, and they weren't very good. The only thing that has room for improvement, though. The customer service was great (a well-spoken foreign exchange high school student was our waitress), and Leonardo himself initially took our order and stayed a while by our table, talking boisterously and cracking jokes.
