If you are not addicted to NOA bread by the time you write this review then I don't know what to…read moresay. It's the best bread ever, soft and delicious, today we had it at home with melted butter and beans. NOA is not just a bakery, they make their own coffee and beer and it's all under one roof. Ta Da! something for everyone. We snagged the last almond croissant yesterday and it was unbelievable. Pablo had a coffee and a Troglodyte mild chaser and it was good. All this at just the beginning of the day. Service was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was top notch, likely the most bougie on the island and let's face it old world charm is good and great but sometimes you just want a preppy/techy vibe. Across from the ferry terminal and a good place to work or lollygag.

Noa has got a super chilled out vibe and wouldn't be out of place in either Manchester's NQ or London's Shoreditch with its laid back staff and mismatched furniture. The clientele is much more varied however, with young hipster types, families with kids and 30 something young professionals all happily rubbing shoulders. Like the best coffee shops in the NQ and Shoreditch, Noa takes their coffee seriously and every time I've been in there my favoured cappuccino has been excellent with even my husband, notoriously picky about the standard of his flat whites, leaving more than happy. Food wise Noa offer a selection of tasty looking cakes as well as a short daily changing savoury menu with things such as soup, salad and sandwiches on it, all of which offer variety a bit different from your bog standard cheese and ham sarnie etc. Last time we were in I had the 'Bugsy' salad, which although was extremely virtuous being full of veggies, seeds and houmous, was fresh and really tasty. My only negative is that I found it a bit pricey at around the £6 mark when it was pre-prepped in the fridge and presented in a plastic cup, more like a takeaway option. Call me fickle but I'd have been more than happy to have paid this if it had been presented on a proper plate and even better if they'd added on a chunk of their lovely bread (Note, the photo I added of it was after I grabbed a plate and pinched a couple of pieces of my husband's bread!) Speaking of which, don't forget to pick up a loaf or two of their fantastic in-house baked sourdough if you're visiting. Although be warned, pair it with some luscious salty butter and you'll more than likely demolish it within the day!

We stopped in just for a cappuccino and tea, but they had an amazing afternoon tea special for 11.95 for two which contained either coffee (cappuccino) or tea and two platters full of various types of sandwiches and deserts. It was probably big enough for four people and we definitely couldn't finish it, although it was not for lack of trying. Service was quick and friendly and it was a pleasant atmosphere. It is a large place which allows for it to get quite busy. It was a quiet weekend when we were there, but it was still quite busy. If anything, I would say that would be a testament to the quality of this place.

What was quite telling is that when we finally did find it, the restaurant was full and we had to book to come back an hour later for lunch. Nice option, combining comfort food with fresh, presumably local, ingredients. I started with broccoli stilton soup. The broccoli came through and it had a nice consistency though I could not really taste the stilton. For my main, I had chicken kiev. Large piece of chicken and the garlic butter definitely had enough garlic. Came with good fresh vegetables and nice chips. My son seemed to enjoy the chocolate cake. While the service wasn't fast, it was very pleasant. We plan on going again.

I am not sure if the other review is referring to the tea room downstairs or the upstairs restaurant , to be honest I am kind of confused about the layout of the place. I can say the downstairs tearoom is very good. Cannot comment on anything else, but the owners are making a go of it (but they should take note to the other review) they had a terrible flood a few years ago, so kudos to them for their hard work.

We were dining for my grandmas birthday so with lots of elderly relatives I kind of thought it might be acceptable to them (you know cos they don't like rare meat, probably don't dine out much etc etc) but they were some of the most vocal critics to the waiting staff. Super dry and tough beef, so hammered - veges that weren't even cooked and hard, yorkshire pud all doughy and undercooked - it was a complete bloody disaster! I'm only giving it an extra star after my initial thoughts to give it 1 because the staff were so lovely and also because they sold the 'Hooded Ram' local beer that helped ease the pain of having to sit through this meal...I felt bad for the staff having to pedal such shoddiness.

It is not a very big place, just one room with a few tables and 3 small tables outside on a small walkway. We went to this place twice during our stay on the Isle of Man and both times we had delicous tea with a gorgeous piece of cake. Everything here is homemade and you can taste it. The staff is really friendly and does everything to make you feel right at home and even has time for a little chat about the place and the food they prepare here. I can really recommend this little tea room for lunch or a very relaxed afternoon tea after you have walked around Snaefell to warm you up again. Great place with great staff - go try it!
