EXCELLENT!!!!! A co-worker and myself came to Chuy's for the first time. The service was absolutely amazing and the food was soooo yummy! Our waitress Shanna brought us a full sampling of the sauces offered, and had some great recommendations. We shared the combo (chicken and beef) fajitas and they were excellent. The guacamole and boom boom was Queso was amazing! Shanna was so sweet and brought us some free leches cake for dessert.. and O.M.G! I'm not usually a sweets person, but it was to die for!! Are you hungry? After coming here you won't be! This is probably one of the cleanest restaurants I've been to that serves Tex-Mex/Mexican food in the country. I came to Chuy's with my expectations at a medium. As a chain restaurant I kind of already knew what to expect. Reasonable food for a reasonable price. I ordered the Elvis special & a Margarita, but my waitress got my order wrong & brought out fried chicken & spilled my drink. I didn't even know this Tex-Mex restaurant had fried chicken but sure enough it did. I didn't want to say it's because I'm African American but I thought it. The waitress apologized and brought my correct order. I went to dig in to it and realized I had no silverware. I let her know I was utensil-less and she said she would grab some, but proceeded to take the order of the table next to us. I was disappointed in my service but the food was average as I thought. Everyone seems to love this place but the one time I went there, there was literally nothing on the menu that wasn't spicy. I had a side salad it was disgusting I left starving. I think if you like really spicy food then this might be a good place for you but my experience was not good. read more

This is my 100th review, YAY!!! Chuy's is great, and apparently other people know that b/c the wait is usually nuts. Your best bet to eat there without a wait is to go during the week around 5:30pm. I know, old people dinner time, but it works out in my favor most of the time. Now, Chuy's is NOT known for health food. They're known for burritos as big as a newborn baby, fresh made flour tortillas, tons of fried goodness, a happy hour nacho car.....you get the idea. There are a few healthier options on the menu, but they're out numbered. I did learn the last time I was in that the Baja Tacos can be ordered with grilled shrimp or grilled fish so that's a plus. Love the nacho car during happy hour! Free queso, beans, and ground beef mix-ins for your dipping pleasure. The nacho car is loaded up during the week from 4pm until 6pm I believe (see where my 'getting there early' strategy comes in handy??). I haven't had any alcoholic beverages from there so I can't comment on those. Overall, great place, fun decorations, and an attentive staff 90% of the time. read more

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Tulsa area. There's usually a wait but we think it's definitely worth it. If it's M-F they have chips, queso and salsa as free appetizers during happy hour. We also love sitting on the patio when the weather is nice. Everything we've tried we absolutely love! I wanted to order some food for Cinco de Mayo for my family. Try to support a business versus doing the norm of cooking at home. I placed an order here around 5:45. I received my food at 8:45! After about an hour I called the restaurant just trying to figure out if I needed to cancel and make my own food, or what. No one would pick up the phone!! I still have yet to talk to any employee from Chuy's at all! Even once we got our food, it was not right. But again, I can't talk to anyone from Chuy's about that. I tipped my Grubhub driver in cash beyond what I tipped him on the app, because he graciously waited for my food, missing out on other deliveries he could've been making. We were out getting some Halloween stuff as well as some necessaries for an upcoming wedding (not ours), and decided to bop into Chuy's. The Kid always likes the place, and never fails to come away with a new T-shirt. We were seated fairly quickly, with only a 15 minute or so wait. Usually there's no wait, but it was late lunchtime on a Sunday, so there's that. Our server brought us menus, and chips and salsa right off. With three of us, I would expect more than one teeny weeny bowl of salsa. Apparently I expect too much. We placed drink orders and at the same time asked for another bowl. I like their salsa, but it can be a bit hot for the non fire-eaters among us. Drinks arrived.... but no salsa. It's always the little things, to me, that make or break a place. Queso arrived fairly quickly, which is always good. Orders were placed: Taco Salad for The Kid, Roasted Pork Enchiladas for The Wife, and I opted for the signature Elvis' Green Chile Fried Chicken. The entrees arrived in a reasonably good time, considering the crowd, so I have no issues there. Where I DO have my issues, at least with THIS particular visit, was the food itself. Both mine and The Wife's entree had the de rigeur Beans and Chile Rice, so I know when I speak for myself, I'm speaking on her behalf. These things were terribly overspiced. Now let me level set here for a minute. I'm the guy who can do Tabasco straight from the bottle. I eat smoked jalapeno poppers like candy. I like it hot, robust and spicy. To a point. Past that point, it ceases to enhance the dish and starts to seriously detract from it. Such was the case today. Not only were the side over spiced, but The Wife's enchiladas were as well. The roast pork had an awesome flavor, but the spices were just so hard to work around. I'm a Chuy's fan, for sure. Their shrimp tacos are some of the best I've had (and in hindsight, I should've ordered those again today). But today I came away feeling disappointed, sad, and slightly abused. None of this will prevent me from a return visit, but today is the day I did the review, so this is what we work with. I almost sent mind back, but realized it would be pointless, as the beans and rice are part of a mass cooking, and I'd just get the same things again, so why bother. I suppose I could have sent it back and asked for the tacos, but the entree WAS good... it was. The chicken was tender, moist and had a good flavor. The rice was good. Lots of flavor. So I could not in good conscience send it back. But next time I'll know better.... read more

Update 2/23/20. This location is currently having some problems. The management staff and a lot of waitstaff are new. Management seems to be having trouble. Several problems this visit. After food arrived, no plates for fajitas. Not enough tortillas - total of 5 for a party of 5 with two that had fajita orders. Waitress busy seating a table of 12 with a manager helping her at that table, neglecting the other tables. Food still great. Get your masa together, Chuys! ------ We come here weekly. Everything here is made fresh from scratch. That means great taste, but also that you can substitute to your hearts content. My wife is allergic to corn, so that means they can sub flour tortillas no problem. If there is a common problem, it's that the kitchen may get something wrong. That seems to come in spurts, so just check your order. They are great at correcting. Waitstaff overall is generally excellent for this level of restaurant. read more

There's a reason this place was empty at dinner time. Probably because they serve raw grilled chicken in their tacos and there's bones in their chicken flautas. This place use to be great, we use to go here at least once a week. Now you go here if you want to get terrible service and like getting sick from the undercooked food. **kid review** Chuy's never disappoints us when you want some good Mexican food. Even if it is really busy you will get seated at a table and kids get a dough ball sometimes to play with! I get the kids chicken soft taco and sometimes if you eat early you can get free queso, ground beef, and chips. The kids meals get a orange push pop as a dessert. I came here for a group event and they accommodated all of us in their back room with a fajita bar. It was awesome! The chicken was juicy and tender and there were lots of veggies and toppings. So happy to find Chuy's in Tulsa and it was just as good as it always in in Texas. We came with a large party and we were seated pretty quickly. The queso is always my favorite thing at Chuy's and it didn't fail at this location either. Loved it. I love the taco salad with combo fajita meat. They give you so much meat, cheese, pico and guacamole with my favorite, jalapeño ranch. So good and I can stay on my Keto diet as long as I'm not tempted by the taco shell. My entire party loved their food and everything came out perfect. If you are in the area, Chuy's has great Mexican food for very reasonable prices. I like Chuy's food options. The food is usually good and consistent. One thing that I have noticed the last couple of times we have ordered take out is that they do not provide enough chips. We ordered 3 entrees and 2 orders of queso and received one bag of chips and no salsa. This would not be typical of in dining in my experience. I would expect more for take out. read more

My daughter and I dined here. She is a vegetarian. The chips were amazing; light and crisp. The salsa, while both the same one had more juice in it. We fought over the less juicy one and I won. I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla. There were four quesadillas. It was enough for two people, especially after the chips. My daughter had a burrito which was huge too. All the food we had was wonderful and it was busy and 3 pm on a Friday. The waiter was fun and efficient even picking up on my daughters dietary needs and helped her pick a vegetarian sauce. It isn't the best Tex Mex but it is definitely NOT the worst. The menu is pretty standardized across the franchise, although it is pretty unique to the brand. During Happy Hour, they have a free nacho bar which is always super popular and crowded. My favorite item on the menu is definitely the chile relleno. The blue corn tortilla items tend to be hit or miss on seasoning. Service is usually good and quick. Ok for kids and families, just maybe avoid Friday night's, it gets crowded quickly. read more

FINALLY, Tulsa has a decent Mexican restaurant that doesn't cost and arm and a leg! (Sorry Los Cabos, you guys charge WAY too much). The great thing about Chuy's is everything tastes extremely fresh. The chicken is hand pulled and tortillas are made fresh. Also, if you hit up happy hour on weekdays between 4-6, I believe, you can get free queso, ground beef, beans and salsa/chips from the "nacho car". The decor in this restaurant has the 3 F's I look for in a restaurant: funky, fresh and fun. I have never ordered anything I didn't like here. I usually go for the chicken enchiladas or fish tacos. They also have a wide variety of dipping sauces available here, each more delicious than the next. There will more than likely be a wait to eat here unless you go at an off or early time. read more

They worst experience ever. Should have left when I saw how fithy the restaurant was upon walking in. Dirty plates on tables food on the floors. People complaining about curb side delivery. Then the staff, where do I start smoking or vaping what smelled like Marijuana, chatting about their tables and the foul language. Then there was a loud voice of obscenities coming from the kitchen when asked we were told its our kitchen manager and speaking of managers not one came to visit our table. This is one of my favorite places for Mexican food in Tulsa; and this location is the best Chuys in Tulsa! Staff are all extremely friendly, and the restaurant appears to be well kept. If you like foods with plenty of spice this is your restaurant! They have several dishes with their famous green chilis that can pack a punch. There are several other non spicy options as well, which is great for those that can't really handle spice, like me! This visit I ordered the enchilada and taco combo meal. I chose the chicken enchilada with queso, which is made from their hand rolled tortillas (which you can watch them cook through a glass window in the dining room). I was happily surprised to find the chicken inside the enchilada had a charred flavorful coating to it! Versus other restaurants that seem to just put shredded boiled chicken in a tortilla! The ground beef taco was also well seasoned and seemed to be in a homemade crispy taco shell. DoorDash doesn't let you make any modifications on their app, so I called after I placed my order to see if they would let us make some vegetarian-friendly changes. A very friendly hostess greeted me & quickly transferred my call to the manager, who was very helpful and kind. Our food was excellent, warm, and very generously portioned. Lots of chips/salsa as well. We will definitely consider this delivery option again if we COVID restrictions arent lifted soon--otherwise we will go in person! read more
