Right from the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you are in a dive restaurant in Austin. The environment is so bright and lively! Each room has its own theme which is cool. The menu has so many different items that can all be customized to your desired heat level. The must have item for me is the chile rellanos. They are some of the best ever! Be sure to ask for the jalapeno ranch sauce to dip your chips in. It is super addictive and life changing! Happy hour is served in the bar with free, yes FREE, chips/salsa, queso, and taco fixins. Our server Warnie was wonderful and I was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. I had the Delux Steak Enchiladas with the Tomatillo sauce on corn tortillas. I loved the tomatillo sauce. This Chuy's is always busy!!!! If you come around dinner time any day of the week, you'll probably have to wait for a table. However, you can add yourself to the waitlist via Yelp so you can walk around the mall until your table is ready, plus they offer complementary valet out front. It is by far the most children friendly restaurant in the Springfield town center. The food is pretty affordable and the portions are huge. The Tex-Mex food isn't the best in the world, some hits, some near misses, but I have to say the overall experience is great! The women run this joint. We went around 5 and it was packed! We quickly discovered it was Happy Hour and it's amazing! The portions are so large. Go to happy hour for all you can eat chips and dips, order margaritas, maybe one entree to split, and you are done! The women stayed on top of filling drinks, replacing salsa, and removing dishes. Great spot to get your Tex-Mex fix in. We came in a Saturday afternoon at around 3 and the wait was still 30 minutes! However, after eating at the bar for around 20 minutes our buzzer went off and we were quickly seated. The chips were as good as I can remember them at the original Chuys in Texas: very thin, crispy, and constantly refilled. The jalapeño ranch is the main reason we came and it did not disappoint. It came with jalapeños, guacamole (without extra charge!), and pico de gallo. Yes, it looks sparse and, yes, it is appetizer-sized for two... Typical American Mexican menu with a lot of options. The decor was adorable and really fit the mood now that the weather is warming up! I had been desperately searching for a place to host my father's surprise birthday, and I couldn't have found a better place! The waiting staff was very attentive and the food came out very quickly. Went out here with friends last week and it was surprisingly pack. Maybe because of the shopping season and it's located in a strip mall. They do provide valet parking as well. My friends were talking about a ground beef appetizer that they have here but we were not able to get it because we came after happy hour. I had berry smash drink which was surprisingly good! Good flavor and just enough salt. Salsa was spicy and fresh. The jalapeño cream sauce... Not too sure about that. Reminded me of chile flavored ranch dressing. But I kept going back to try it. Maybe I really liked it even though the very concept was a bit off-putting. Cheese filled replenish was dinner. I really liked them. The chile was "al dente" and crispy fried. Usually the are soggy but not these. Great flavor and bright green appearance. The Hatch chile sauce I selected. Didn't enjoy. Good flavor but too much chile skin in it. Not cleaned properly after roasting and that really diminished the experience. I have two pet peeves and let me entertain you with one of them. I detest eating with cheap stamped silverware. It doesn't feel good in the hand or the mouth. And it tends to get yucky build-up no matter how well they're sanitized. Unfortunately I ate with that kind of silverware tonight. First time to visit this place and we love it. Friday night is busy time for this place. We were places on a waiting list and were told 20-30min. They notify you via sms when you table is ready which is pretty cool. Our waiting time for the table was actually much shorter, 10min max. Whiskey smush drinks, amazingly good guacamole and salsa with chips following main course. From service to food everything was great. And their "creamy jalapeño" sauce is a must!
