First time experience eating at a Chuy's and I really enjoyed. Complimentary chips and salsa was a nice tough. We did get the Ranch sauce too I believe. The server was very attentive. We visited during lunch time and got seated straight away. This location is next to Capital Grille is a nice area. It's definitely family friendly and good place for affordable Tex Mex. We both got Enchiladas and they were bussing. I did get the Green Chili Chicken and they were a little spicy but I loved them. I'd highly recommend stopping in for lunch or anytime. Food was good but the service was just awful and it was several tables not just ours. It took us 40 minutes to get our beer and margarita. My margarita came with salt and I asked for no salt. They just poured it in another glass salt and all. So my Rita sucked and the main reason we went there. We never got a refill of salsa we asked for. Manager didn't give a flip. Love the decor and vibe here! Staff was friendly and super efficient checking in on us frequently. We all liked the appetizer plate and of course the jalapeno dip was amazing! So I'm gluten and dairy free by necessity, and I was hopeful about finding a meal I could eat here as my friends all wanted to eat here. I ordered the chicken tacos and specifically asked for corn tortillas. My friends ordered fajitas. I noticed when our food came that their tortillas and my tortillas all looked the same, white-ish color. I just assumed their food also came with corn tortillas and that it could be white corn, which I've had many times before. Today I am in so much pain with stomach cramps, bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, palpitations, and aches. I kept trying to think back to what I could've eaten that would mess me up like this because I'm very specific when I order food to minimize these feelings and on a whim, I just looked up Chuys menu to see what kind of tortillas the fajitas come with. Flour. They come with flour. I'm not going to be able to go anywhere or do anything the rest of the week because of someone's careless mistake. On top of that, the food wasn't that good. A rather disappointing experience at Chuy's this evening. Let's start with the positives - we were seated very quickly and our server was relatively attentive. Food was mid - we wished the chips were saltier and the enchiladas were overly drenched with sauce. Areas for improvement - I decided to order the kids cheese enchilada. On the menu, it states that the kids meal includes a drink and a dessert. The meal did not end up including either of those items which was disappointing. The main issue was related to cleanliness. When we walked in, there were over four tables that were extremely dirty. I figured those people had just left and the area would be cleaned soon. As more parties left, more tables were not cleared and the dirty tables from the beginning were still in their original condition. tl;dr - kids meal did not include all items as advertised and the restaurant was not clean. read more

First I want to say that this visit was skewed by special circumstance of Christmas holiday week, so experiences may vary on other weeks. So because of that I gave them 4 stars which under normal circumstances would have been 3 stars. Our initial experience was poor the call ahead wait list still had us waiting an additional 30 min. We attempted to wait in a very busy bar, but they did not have enough employees to staff it properly, so by the time we received our drinks, the table was ready. Came in this evening around 7:30 or so and sat at the bar. Wasn't expecting much and simply looking for dinner. The service by Vivian was unbelievably wonderful. She had a non-stop smile on her face and genuinely appeared to like her job, and treated each customer as if they were the only one there. I like that you get crunchy shells, not the soggy Relleno that most restaurants serve. And, you determine the sauce on top. In my case, I couldn't decide. So, I got two sauces on the side and could decide for myself which I liked. I can't honestly say these are the best Chile Relleno I've ever had, but they are exceptionally good. As soon as the server tried to give us water, she lost balance on the serving table and dropped water on me. This would be fine if she tried to clean the area and provide me napkins much faster. As a server myself I am so confused on how a waiter would walk by a table multiple times as we are clearly trying to get the attention of staff so we can get our drinks 10 minutes after being sat. I really wanted to like this place, but the complete lack of to-go parking made the experience way more frustrating than it needed to be. If you're offering takeout, at least have a few dedicated spots for customers who just need to run in and grab their food. Instead, I had to circle the lot several times, park far away, and basically turn a 5-minute pickup into a 20-minute ordeal. Not worth the hassle. I've had Chuy's many times at other locations and it's usually a very good experience but this specific location let me down today. I stopped by for a curbside pick up while on my lunch break. After the employee went back inside after dropping the food off to me I saw they didn't give me any chips even tho my meal came with chips. I thought to myself: that's fine whatever I don't absolutely need the chips. Well then I get back to work and start eating my meal and every item is cool (temperature wise). Like not even warm. And it's packaged in a foil container so that should have retained the heat. Plus it said it would be ready at 11:53 and I was there at 1200 and I only have a 3 min drive to the restaurant from work so it's not like I picked it up late or had a long drive. They also did not put red chile on my chile rellano like I ordered. So overall most of my order was messed up today due to lack of attention to detail. Chuy's is a staple in our house for nostalgic reasons. That's the only way, I feel, that they skated through the pandemic with a severely scaled down menu. Nostalgia. However, the item most nostalgic to folks (that fell victim to COVID menu cutbacks) and the one item most patrons are screaming to be brought back is the relleno (for me the cheese relleno). As a vegetarian, I have very few Tex Mex options available to me, but I always loved the Chuy's Vegetarian Combo (A vegetable enchilada with a cheese relleno, served with rice and beans). Bring it back. While you're at it, at back the pico de gallo that you used to put on the entree plates. We love their chips, salsa, and creamy jalapeño dip. When we walked in, our hostess Abigail, was very unwelcoming and visibly irritated by even basic questions. She offered no greeting, gave no clear wait time, and responded with attitude when we politely asked for updates. At one point, groups who arrived after us were seated before us, and when I asked about it, her tone was dismissive and rude rather than helpful or apologetic. We started with the queso and then got a bean and cheese burrito with their ranchero and boom boom sauce on the side and 2 chuychangas with boom boom sauce and a salsa verde. Meal was good overall. The chuychanga would have been better if it was smothered in sauce vs inside. The burrito was standard. We also got some margaritas and mojitos which everyone enjoyed. Service was good- nothing extra special nothing to complain about (there was hair in the boom boom sauce and we got a new one). We were also impressed with the speed of it. My dad started our experience with an off menu- creamy jalapeño dip that was incredible! I also loved their chips and salsa. Two of us got the chicken flautas and one got the chicken fajitas. All of the food was good and made to order! The only reason I would not rate this at as 5 stars is simply due to the prices and quality aspect. Their food is good, but nothing spectacular and the prices are a bit high for that quality. We go to the Chuy's in alliance all the time and it's fabulous. We had NO IDEA this one in Southlake would be so different. Holy cow. We would have left and gone back to ours but we were meeting family. They had no bathrooms?? Are you even allowed to operate a business without public restrooms? I don't know. But beyond that the food took forever, our waitress was meh, and my salad had brown lettuce. I paid $80 for a crappy meal. We'll stick to Chuy's Alliance. read more
