I have given this place several chances to be what it use to be. My husband and I use to eat here every Friday. It was my favorite Mexican restaurant. I love this location. It's conveniently located right across from the movie theater! Me and my mom went here after watching a movie. Every one was so sweet and our waitress was very attentive! The food is always delicious! I ordered their mixed fajitas. We split it because it's enough for 2. Their portions are huge! We enjoyed their jalapeño avocado dip most of all! It was really good. First visit here ever for me and it was good. The Dr Pepper was flat at first but we got that fixed easy. The enchiladas had the right amount of spice and the fries paired nicely. The rice and beans are the best Tex mex ones I've had my whole vacation! read more

My first trip to eat at a Chuy's and was not impressed. The ambiance is nice but seems like it is trying to be Lupe Tortilla with the "household" decor. However, this style is used at other places too so maybe that isn't fair. Our waiter, Lucas, was short with us , didn't care to offer suggestions or specials, and didn't seem to care much about being there. The menu has a good selection and the drink listing is pretty good, but seems to focus solely on margaritas with a couple of vodka drinks. The oven roasted chicken was very dry and didn't have much seasoning. The Ranchero sauce helped. And I got the wrong rice. If it wasn't for running late for a movie I would have asked for them fix it. The best part was the food coming out quickly and the food being filling. read more

I've been to chuy's countless times in my life but last night was absolutely the worst experience. I'm not overly needy or sensitive. I don't need a waiter to be all fake and bubbly though I do appreciate an upbeat and attentive demeanor and warm inviting attitude. None of that happened last night. Last night was so bad I should have been infuriated but I actually left laughing. So bad it was comical. Upon sitting down we were greeted quickly. About the only thing done right but they were far from busy. The waiter greeted us, took drink orders, then removed our menu's without us noticing. When he came back with drinks he asked if we were ready to order after not having seen menus yet. Lmao. "Said oops I took your menus earlier". While waiting for food we polished off chips and due to his non-existent observation, he failed to notice I needed a refill for several minutes even though he walked by many times and was seen standing idle at one point. The guy was not observant at all. You figure a waiter would at least put their eyes on your table whenever they are passing by with line of sight. This guy? NOPE! When he delivered our food he was, quick, silent, and disappeared before we realized we didn't have any silverware. Took almost 5 minutes to get that silverware with me getting up to go look at hostess stand which had no silverware and no hostess standing at it. Finally as I'm coming back my son had managed to flag him down. Food was simply terrible. Dropped off our receipt after running check, and immediately walked away saying nothing only stopped to ask if we needed anything after he glanced back and noticed me looking at him in disbelief. All of the customary, elementary, basic things a server should do, were completely left out. We literally felt like a chore. Lol. Although I was quite aggravated and annoyed throughout the visit, in the end I left chuckling thinking "I'm definitely not coming back here for a while, if ever" Don't remember his name! Out and about and saw the Chuy's sign for a Frozen Lemonade earlier this week. So I met up with my husband for lunch thinking what could be better in Texas on a sunny 87 degree day than a frozen drink and tex mex?!?! I had to finish up an appointment so he arrived about 20 minutes earlier than myself and my 11 month old son. When we arrived I noticed he had already ordered the frozen lemonade. He let our son have a few drinks of his lemonade while I waited for mine. It wasn't until he started feeling a buzz that he realized the "frozen lemonade" was a SPIKED lemonade?!?!? We brought it to the attention of Lisa, the manager on duty who basically said oops and went about her business. We got charged $13 for each lemonade, a far cry from the usual non-alcoholic frozen lemonades offered at many restaurants. How could this happen you ask? Well... 1. the restaurant sign didn't say anything about it being alcoholic or spiked or a deep eddys infused drink 2. the waitress never carded us 3. the drinks were not served in a margarita glass 4. the frozen lemonade was no where to be found in the alcoholic drinks menu we were provided Why is this a big deal? 1. we shared this drink with our 11 month old unknowingly giving him an alcoholic beverage. Thankfully my husband arrived 20 minutes earlier and the buzz started to hit him. Otherwise, if he had started to drink it at the same time as my son, we wouldn't have known it was spiked until it was too late. 2. this could have been a pregnant woman 3. this could have been someone on their lunch break or a business luncheon 4. this could've been someone who doesn't drink for health or religious reasons It is one thing to make a mistake, another to admit the mistake and walk away doing nothing to remedy the oversight. Love the food at Chuy's! Recently dined at Chuy's in The Woodlands with my husband, son, and daughter-in-law. We shared queso with seasoned ground beef and it quickly disappeared as we found it very tasty. Each of us chose a different entree for lunch including chicken tortilla soup, crispy beef tacos, shrimp tacos, beef fajitas, and chicken burrito. Everyone claimed that the food was delicious! If you are from Texas, you know the two things that can make or break a Mexican restaurant is their chips/queso and their fajitas. Well, I ordered both chicken and beef fajitas as well as chips/queso to-go. The staff was excellent at taking my order and having it prepared and ready to go when I arrived. If this review were based solely on the service I received, it would be 5-stars all the way. In addition, the chips at Chuy's are some of the best around. They have the super light, thin tortilla chip that will snap in half if you touch the salsa too hard. In my opinion, it's hard to beat chips like that. I love them. The queso was decent too but not overall unique. The reason for the two stars is the actual taste of the fajitas. They were slightly overdone and dry. They really weren't bursting with flavor. I have to admit I was disappointed in the fajitas. Bottom line - Excellent service and excellent chips. I have eaten here before and ordered other things on their menu but this two-star rating is based solely on the fajitas. I have definitely had better in the past. Bon appétit. read more

Chuy's main be a chain, but they focus on the fundamentals and that's a great thing. Chips are house made and fresh. Same with tortillas - order some on the side and you won't regret it. My husband and I always order the Elvis combo and split it. With that, chips, salsa (garlicky-cream based and a pico-style) and tortillas, we leave totally stuffed. The staff here is attentive and helpful. There are lots of seating options inside and they are constantly reconfiguring tables to fit groups of various sizes. This is somewhat of an odd location to get in and out of; you may have to park near the AMC but it's a short walk back to the restaurant. read more

Could not seat us because they were short of servers - should have left then 2. Once seated the air conditioner was blowing full force right on us and our table, blowing the napkins off the table - should have left then 3. Food was mediocre and COLD because of the air conditioner - too late to leave now 4. Because it was Veterans Day, the online Chewys had the meal free for the veteran - however the manager told us my husband would get 50 percent off his meal. When the bill came it was 10 percent off my husband's meal. After bringing this to their attention they corrected it to 50 percent off his meal. Just not worth it, started bad and ended bad. It was graduation weekend this weekend, but we decided that the green sauce was worth it! It was super crowded, but we were sat at a table right away.
