I am not a big fan of Chuy's, but a large group of people wanted to get together. The restaurant accommodated about 40 adults but delivered food about 1 hr. to some people at a table. I ordered a fajita chicken and a seasoned beef floured taco. Oh sadly, the fajita chicken was just seasoned with fajita and no fajita veggies. I enjoyed the beef taco. I tried both the Mexican rice and the chili rice. They forgot my guac which was good. The waitress was excellent. I loved that they had prayers on the back of the silverware package. The old grilled chicken was my favorite type of chicken, and now it tastes like day old rotisserie chicken. While I've been to Chuy's in other locations this was my first trip to the location in Greenwood. Like the others, I enjoyed it and I think it's my favorite 'large chain' Mexican option. Wife, son and I showed up after the dinner rush as we were in town for an event. We were seated immediately and there were plenty of tables available. Our hostess asked for our drink order and if we wanted queso, etc. and our server arrived a bit later. Wife ordered flautas, and was surprised at how many (6) were in her order when they arrived. She loved them and asked for a box so she could have them for lunch the next day. I had the burrito as big as my face. Indeed it was. Tasty too but no need for a box for me as I ate it all! I chose ground beef but wish I had done the beef fajita mix. Got it Tex mex style and love their sauce. Son had chicken tacos and also liked them as well. Having lived in Texas for over two decades, I LOVE Chuy's and am so sad that the locations that appeared in Illinois briefly for a few years didn't last. So when my boyfriend spotted this location on a road trip, we knew we would have to hit it on the way back! I could honestly be happy just eating their chips and creamy jalapeno dip with a house margarita, but we needed more substance so went for the queso: a good consistency, not too thick or thin, and doesn't break their ultra-thin chips! For dinner, I got the tacos al carbon (like fajitas but less work) and he got the chicken flautas (having never been to a Chuy's before, he was suitably impressed and I have made a convert out of him). Our server was friendly and kept an eye on us for chip and drink refills. I also chatted with another staff member before we left; it turned out he had opened the location in Texas which was the most recent Chuy's I ate at on a different trip, and we also went to the same college! My daughter took me here recently. She loves this restaurant. They have a manageable and reasonably sized menu to choose from. Their food is fresh, made in house and is plentiful and tasty. The price point for the food was acceptable too. The space and atmosphere is decorated nicely, and is also welcoming and clean. I liked my dinner and the extras were great too - queso dip, salsa and guacamole. The chips are exceptionally thin and fresh and they are salted perfectly, just the way I like them. I only wish they had (stuffed cheese poblano peppers) chili rellenos . They said they don't always have them available on a consistent basis. Their multi condiment sauce offerings are a nice touch and addition to the food. I tried the ranch sauce and it's right on. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I met my girlfriend for lunch at Chuy's on the south side off of Southport Road. She had never been, so it was fun to take a life long southsider to a restaurant she'd never been to. We were seated immediately with a busy Friday lunch crowd. I was surprised how much busier it was around 3:30 than at 12:30. I guess it was that busy so late because it was a Friday afternoon. They have a nice selection of signature Ritas, 3 types of Martinis, Texas size cocktails, beer, and wine. The New Mexican Martini was very refreshing. I love that they use all fresh ingredients and make all their own sauces and tortillas. I was told they do not have a freezer on-site because everything is made fresh. My friend loved the fresh, thin, hot chips and salsas. The queso dip was fresh, hot, and a perfect choice to accompany the chips. I ordered the hot Hatch Green Chili sauce, which I love, but my friend didn't care for. She did like the mild jalapeno ranch dip and the mild tomatillo sauce. She ordered the "Big as your face" roasted chicken burrito filled with refried beans, chicken, and topped with a generous amount of queso sauce. She enjoyed and took half of it home for her husband to enjoy. I ordered my favorite, the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas, with roasted chicken and cheese and topped with their delicious Boom Boom sauce served with rice and beans. I ended up taking half of my home also after devouring to many fabulous chips. The menu offers all of your favorite Mexican from tacos to fajitas. This was my first time at Chuy's but wasn't impressed with the food or customer service. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with boom boom sauce and the chicken was cold and hard and didn't have any flavor to it. The customer service wasn't the best either...we had to go find our waitress to request warm tortilla for the fajitas because the one they gave was cold. The chicken fajitas were a lot more seasoned than the enchiladas. I would go back again but would order either the chicken fajitas or the chicken and rice bowl. read more

The salsa has a slight bite but I wanted more so I asked for a side of their green chili salsa which was listed as hot. It wasn't but had a good flavor. The regular setup salsa was actually hotter. I love the chips here. Thin and fresh! And the salsa and queso are my favorites. I got a chimichanga called a chuychanga, and it was very good and fresh. The service here is sometimes slow but today it was very quick and our waitress stopped by many times during our meal to make sure we were good to go. Chuy's opened last year on the south side of Indianapolis and I finally made it in! I have eaten at a Chuy's before, but several years ago in FL and was excited when this location opened. It's really fun and festive inside and we were brought chips, salsa and jalapeño ranch dip for the table. We also ordered some queso. The jalapeño ranch is the star here! Think ranch is odd on chips? Trust me, it's going to be your new favorite dip! The salsa wasn't that good to me - kind of watery and flavorless. Was very excited to know there is a Chuy's located a little closer to Downtown as opposed to having to go yo Noblesville. Tucked off I65, it is conveniently located right off Southport Road. There is plenty of parking and ti my surprise, it wasn't crowded. I'm used to the one in Noblesville there is almost always a wait, especially in the evening. When we walked in we were greeted right away and opted to sit at the bar. The bartender was extremely nice and had lots of personality offering suggestions on things we should try. My husband loved his food, however, I didn't but I'm not going to let that sway my rating, I just think I ordered something I shouldn't have. The drinks were good (margarita) but a tad pricey ($11 and $13) for this type of restaurant. Will come back but will make sure I try something different. read more

My party of 15 had such a fun time here! The decor is quirky and entertaining. It is probably the least Mexican-themed decor I have ever seen in a Mexican restaurant, but the whole thing is fun to explore. We were seated in a room full of license plates from Mexico and a floating hub cap "chandelier." It definitely all made for great conversation starters! Alisha was our 1 server for all 15 of us, and she even had more tables throughout the restaurant. Alisha killed it!!! Engaging, friendly, and funny! She is one who can take a million orders without writing them down & get all of them correct. Such a handy skill! On our way out, the manager came over as we went out exploring more of the decor throughout the dining area and bar. She was so lovely! She took the time to explain some of the decor and history of the chain. We could tell she was proud of her craft and we really loved that energy about her. What a cute personal touch that they let us hang pics of our pups in the bar area! Adorable! As for the food, it was ok. Not the best and not the worst. Just a plain Jane version of Americanized Mexican dishes. It was all fine. No one in our group had any complaints about the food. The adult beverages were on point though! I am not a fan! I have tried Chuy's three different times at three different locations. The star of the show is the jalapeño ranch dip they give you. All the other food is is really sub par. Nothing I've tried is worth coming back for. When I go out to eat I like ordering things I can't make at home or that are time consuming. This is a fun family Mexican restaurant. They have a huge private parking lot. The restaurant itself is huge too. There is an indoor dining area, a bar area that they can open up to the outdoors and a patio area, which is adjacent to the bar. The bar has a couple of TVs playing sports. They have also some benches on the walkway in where you can sit. The area doubles as the smoking area. The restaurant is colorful and has a classic car theme. There are pictures, hub caps (check the ceiling) and license plates all over the place. It is a neat joint and also very clean. The menu is compact, but full of your traditional favorites like quesadillas, tacos, and burritos. They have have a full bar and some thirst quenching signature cocktails and frozen drinks. We were seated right away. And they brought out the ceremonial complementary chips and salsa to snack on. They gave the little ones crayons and a coloring sheet to keep them entertained. I ordered the beef burrito and it was huge. With a lot of their food, you choose your sauce to either drench your food in or get it on the side. I chose the boom boom sauce. The food did not take long to prepare and it was delicious. The boom boom sauce has a little kick, just like I like it. It is probably one of the few chain Mexican restaurants that come very close to producing authentic Mexican food. We waited so patiently for this location to open and it was worth it. You have to try the tres leches cake. The DJ on the radio said it was the best dessert he'd had in awhile so we tried it and he was right. We went at 11am on a Sunday and it was packed. Almost every table was full by the time we left and there were several families waited to be seated. They had plexiglass between booths so they weren't blocking off tables. I had the chicken fajitas and they were delicious. Definitely enough for two or to have leftovers. I didn't care for the rice or beans, but that's ok because it just left more room for cake. My brother had a burrito and my mom had soft tacos. Between the three of us, we had enough plates and accoutrements to fill up the entire table. The recipes and ingredients are indistinguishable from the Barton Springs mecca. The vibe, service, and Mexican Martinis all measure up. Even the decor is spot on. Who cares, it's delicious. I splurges on the queso, since we arrived in time for happy hour, so it was on special. What a bargain. Went here for the first time on a Monday evening for dinner. There was no wait and we were seated right away. I had been recommended a dish prior to my visit and couldn't find it on the menu. I asked our waitress and found out it wasn't on the menu, but I could order it no problem. So, we ended up splitting the "appetizer sampler". This came with 4 nachos, 4 chicken flautas and 2 chicken quesadillas. We had beef added to the nachos. This was more than enough food for 2 adults! Everything was delicious! We did have to wait upon entering as the hostess was not at the front. Our waitress was with us right away and friendly. The chips and salsa were good- I like how light the chips were and the salsa had a bit of kick to it but it was not overpowering. I ordered the chicken fajita which is either half order or full order depending on if you are sharing. I got the half order and as you can see by the pictures it's very amble. The menu seemed limited for the time due to COVID. The fajita was hot and tasty. They give you more than enough side options to use. The price was reasonable and the service was decent enough. The only reason I'm giving this four stars instead of five is the price is more than I would've expected.
