Love this place! I recently hosted a birthday luncheon at this location. The manager and staff took great care of our group. The food was delicious and the service spot on. read more

This chuy's is a great and safe go to for food. We almost always enjoy the food, and the service tends to be pretty good. Occasionally you can have an issue, which Chuy's will resolve in a way that corresponds to the mistake. Waiters / waitresses tend to wear some interesting outfits though, which relates to a general "Austin" vibe. read more

Chuy's is our go-to spot on the weekends. We love the chicken floutas. The bar is open seating, so try to sit there to avoid the wait. They also usually have a free chips and queso/salsa bar in the bar area. I love their flavored frozen margaritas and jalapeño ranch. We always have wonderful service. I'm not sure of her name, but their is a brunette waitress in the bar area that is one of the sweetest humans on earth. We'll probably be back again next weekend! read more

The staff at this location is exceptional. Sydney in particular was phenomenal. The food is always consistent, the drinks are always made well, and the service is prompt. This has recently become my favorite Chuys location and I love coming here. Thank you Sydney for your excellent service. read more

Chuy's is an Austin institution. I've been a loyal customer for 20+ years. You either love this place or hate it. My favorite dish now is their hatch-chili stew which is available pretty much all year now in Austin. Great margaritas too! If you are in Austin, all their locations are excellent. read more

Not a good experience at Chuy's. I have really enjoyed their fajitas before but very disappointed with my recent trip. We ordered the fajitas and a not real friendly waiter brought us burned meat on a plate. Not tender at all and just tasted scorched. I had asked for a bowl of avocado each sauce and after eating a few bites noticed a hair in it. I asked the waiter to bring another one as there was a hair in this one and didn't even get an "oh I'm sorry". Just ok. And brought another one. That kind of ended my appetite which was good since the fajitas were basically burned. Paying $40 for a lunch meal for two is really steep which I won't do again. But you would expect better service and better food for that price. read more

Really cool atmosphere! I unofficially have ADD, and I loved this place bc there was something new to look at everywhere I turned, you won't get bored here! The staff was super friendly and very on point. Drinks and chips were filled without even asking. Tons of seating in this place. I like how you can see through to the kitchen. We started with the queso, it was amaze. The salsa has a nice kick to it. I got the enchiladas and Mexican rice...it's a tex mex restaurant, don't expect authentic Mexican food! I like my grandma's style Mexican enchiladas the best, but these were tasty on a whole different level. Good for groups and families. Decent pricing, convenient location, private parking, and ice cold beer :) we will for sure be back. read more

Chuy's - Some decor - Tex-Mex Near Me - Austin, Texas

Juan is the man best bartender in Austin. If you go here o say just go to the bar you'll get better service all the bartenders are super friendly and get to know customers. Also man the boom boom always really good here best dish read more

Went to eat with my family and my Mother in laws order was wrong they forgot to put the sauce on my burrito, for got my wife's taco and the waiter came and poured water into my lemonade. By far the worst experience I've had at this location. read more

Much better than the Barton Springs location! I had a horrible horrible experience @ the Barton Springs location, they really did -nothing- right, including the food. Decided to give it another try at a different location and I'm glad I did!! I've been to this location 5 or 6 times now and keep coming back! Let me get this out of the way now...Chuy's default "salsa" kinda sucks, I -HIGHLY- recommend getting their Jalapeño Ranch sauce and their "house" salsa. You have to ask for it specifically otherwise you're going to get their "default" sauce which isn't nearly as good. So far all of the dishes I've had there has been great, service has been great, overall 0 complaints about this place!! Not the best tex-mex in the world, but definitely good enough to keep in my tex-mex rotation. read more

Have always had a good experience at this particular Chuy's location. Food is always hot, and service is always on point. Dog friendly joint, so bring the puppers and enjoy a delicious frozen margarita outside (the blackberry/lime margs are awesome). read more

They got the order wrong And then took the bad batch back which would've been fine but I asked for no extra stuff on the plate as the girl I was with was allergic and they still brought it. read more

Has good food. However, really needs to bring Elvis Presley's fried chicken back. The restaurant is completely different without it. I know very many people who stopped going because of the removal of the menu item. read more

Decent tex-mex- chimichangas are very good here- especially if you need a grease fix. The shrimp tacos are always good- nice and crisp. I come back for the New Mexican Martini made w/ chile infused tequila. Marvelous! read more

Tex-Mex was a new concept for me being from the Northwest. Chuy's was a great first Tex Mex experience though! This place is decorated with Elvis memorabilia, tacky Mexican license plates, gum balls machines... walking into it I thought "Oh gosh what am I getting into!?" But my Chuychanga was delicious - cheesy with a little sour cream on the top but not overwhelming. I could still taste the integrity of the chicken and spices which I liked. I actually didn't even touch the beans that came with it but the rice was great too. The GUAC though.... ohhhh myyyyy goshhhh SO GOOD. I kept dipping my Chuychanga in it, and the Queso. I left feeling like a nap but instead went to Hey Cupcake. What a great night!! Our server Chris was young but on top of things. He kept refilling my Diet Coke, even when it was only half full. Just kept it coming... loved it. Thanks Chris! Then of course, to seal the deal, I bought one of their wacky Chuy shirts for my boss who is a total touristy shirt lover. They were only $12.95 when I'm sure they could've been charging $22.95. Great overall experience! I'll go back if/when I'm ever in Austin again. read more

After hitting lifetime fitness @ 5pm (having me leaving the gym at 6:15 or so) My kids and I are running out the door, with my children yelling, "Hurry! We're gonna miss happy hour!!!" Free Nacho Bar during Happy Hour= Priceless My 2 favorite menu items: Tortilla Soup- the large is huge and tasty. Enough to share, if you're the sharing type. ChickaChickaBoomBoom Enchiladas- Beyond the awesome, snicker inducing name, these enchiladas are the best they have. No lie. read more

Boom Boom time ... How can you go wrong with a name like Boom Boom sauce :) I always get the chicken enchilada with the Boom Boom sauce. Also when you get the tortilla chips instead of the same old salsa you can get a white sauce which is a Jalapeno ranch salsa. The chile rellanos are also excellent. Make sure you get here early as this place is usually packed. read more

You ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY THE GREEN SAUCE WITH THE CHIPS. holy cow its amazing. you get so much food for your dollar at chuy's and its all incredible. I would go every day if i lived in texas, no joke. I wish they had this chain in LA so i could keep going. I also had a pretty killer margarita! read more

I am a regular at this location. The food and the the service have been consistent. I usually order the combo fajitas for one with corn tortillas. They give you a ton of meat and the corn tortillas are extremely light and delicious! I want to swim in a bowl of their creamy jalapeno ranch...it is THAT good! Also, it is a great place to take kids. Cons: Parking can be difficult. They get pretty busy and the spaces are tightly packed in. read more

My friend was just in town and wanted an Austin staple. Well chuy's of course. Amazingly, no wait at 6 pm. The only reason why it's -1 star is the 20 minutes before we were even greeted by the server. My mouth was getting a little spicy with the chips and salsa....you think they would think to at least provide water when you get the chips/salsa. Luckily flava dave made up for his tardy introduction. My friend was going to order the divine enchiladas off the special hatch chile menu, but flava dave spoke right up and let him know that it wasn't really all that divine. We really appreciated the feedback and he recommended the flautas with serranos for that special kick. Let's just say my friend was getting the chile sweat on his forehead. ;) Also their hatch chile mexican martini was amazing!! Another favorite thing about chuy's are the half orders. You're tugging on every woman's heart strings with that one. Oh and don't forget the jalapeno ranch....mmmmm, chuys........ read more

Yummy!!; Very good texmex ! Chips and salsa and very good Chicky Chicky boom boom ! Atmosphere is a little wild. Over I would come back again. read more

Just left from eating at Chuy's after a good year of not going. We had the best time ever thanks to our amazing server Matt. He made our time there so worthwhile. He was sure to answer any questions we had about the menu & let us know he could modify anything to our liking. He was on top of refilling our drinks and constantly bringing us chips and salsa. He also recommended I try the Chuychanga which was Amazing. I will def come again for that. If you are to come to Chuy's I would definitely recommend that you ask for Matt!! read more

Usually pretty busy when I've been, and we've had to wait in line for a free table each time. The wait is bearable, however, if you get a margarita to sip. The chip/salsa bar is fantastic... self-serve, all you can eat. Helps with the long wait.... However, the fajitas are scrumptious, the queso is as good as queso can be, and the service has been pretty attentive. One major downer: Chuy's has done away with Banditos, an appetizer my honey loved. Now, he doesn't see the point in going. BRING BACK BANDITOS! read more

This'll be short and sweet. I love Chuys, any Chuys, and last night was my first time at this location. Went to get some new tires at Costco and decided to get dinner while that was happening. Same great Chuys flavors that never let me down. I adore the creamy jalepeno ranch. Best part? Our waitress! I think her name was Fabi, and she was FAB-U-LOUS! Attentive, fun, great attitude....ask for her if you're ever there. read more

My little family and I visited for a friend's b-day dinner. I ordered the Chuychanga and my husband ordered the Southwestern enchilada dinner. He said that his plate was pretty good. Mine was also decent, I didn't like that they were not able to remove the cilantro from my meal. We were a party of twelve, so our food took a long time to arrive. The birthday girl was given free sopapillas. No singing, though. I like that this area has quite a few eating choices. I'll be back to visit the area, but Chuy's will never be my first pick. Food is ok, service is ok. Nothing special on either count. read more

If I could eat this every day I would. They have the best jalapeno ranch. I always get the same thing...tex mex cheese enchiladas-light sauce. I'm not big on spicy, and to me the tex mex sauce has a light kick to it. The atmosphere is wonderful, and I think I've only left a handful of times without buying a shirt. Which by the way are fun and amazing. My daughter owns like 6. Make sure if you have a Chuy's shirt you wear it. That way you can buy a new one at a discounted price. What are you waiting for??? Go eat at Chuy's!!! read more

I like Tex Mex. I like white meat chicken, no grease (I hate greasy mexican food - sorry), creative sauces (especially green chile based) and homeade totillas (both flour and corn). Chuy's is made for me. Plus, the New Mexican Martini is the very best margarita I have ever had. If you are a classic mexican kind of guy avoid the wait and go somewhere else. If you want the home base of Tex Mex where the art has been perfected come to Chuy's, but get there early or be prepared to wait. read more

Man I love Chuys. The hot sauce is the bomb. We had a intense discussion of whether it is the very same hot sauce as Hula Hut? Hmmm. Service was on point and the fajitA chicken salad and Elvis Platter were delish as usual. read more

Service was ok, food was ok, but a couple of little things that may mean we won't go back. There's just too many other options around. My wife and I both ordered Chili Rellenos. They were good, but my wife found hers stil had membrane and seeds inside. The sauce on my enchilada was not what I ordered. Rice was ok, but since they make their own tortillas in house, I was dissapointed they didn't come with my meal. I guess I had to ask, ok, fair enough. The enchilada I had on my plate, was ok ...but nothing to write home about. One of the few places that said they have a cheese and onion enchiada. If there were onions IN it, I couldn't tell. There were a few small pieces of purple onion ON it, but not much. The chips we were served were cold, but not stale. Among the thinnest I have ever seen. Not my favorite. Salsa was good, but since they are known for their creamy Jalapeno, we were dissapointed that wasn't part of the pre-dinner appetizer package. We tried to order it, but i guess we didn't get the name right. It was ok, but like I said, too many options to go back anytime soon. read more

BEST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN! Phenomenal service! Love the happy hour and free quest bar from 4-7pm. Of course let's not forget the amazing creamy jalepeno ranch sauce that comes with your chips is just to die for. After this visit to Chuys I can easily say that this is my new FAVORITE restaurant. read more

We always enjoy a meal at Chuy's. Rarely do we go to a Chuy's other than the original location on Barton Springs, since we live very nearby, but since we were visiting friends who live close by to the Arbor Trails (William Cannon) location we decided to check it out. Food was good, consistent with other Chuy's. We noted that there was a pretty large, inviting-looking outdoor patio, but it was too cold to sit outside last night. Probably there's not quite as long a wait on a weekend night when the patio is available. Other reviewers have mentioned service problems. We had none. In fact, despite the fact that the restaurant was super busy, we had attentive, friendly and spot-on service from Cheryl. Hint - The wait for a table (Saturday night) was 45-50 minutes, so we hung out in the bar area and snagged a table after about 15 minutes. The bar area offers table service with drinks, appetizers, a la carte and the kids' menu available. That worked fine for us for dinner, and saved us a long wait.. It also was not as noisy as the Barton Springs location, and probably less noisy than the Arbor Trails' main dining area. If we go back to this location, I think we would opt to eat in the bar again. read more

Our typical experience usually consists of tasty food(not the best but tasty nonetheless), quality service from friendly staff. We love the tortilla soup & the flautas. Really enjoy their Mexican martini too. Biggest complaint is their wait but that is true for most eateries in Austin...Especially on Saturday lunch! read more

Chuy's - Mex martini - Tex-Mex Near Me - Austin, Texas

The staff at chuys is amazing and very friendly, I can say chuys is really busy. With every table the serve there chips which is very tasty, although the only serve the chips with salsa not with the jalapeño ranch. The drinks took long to come with our waitress mixing our drinks up. Next is the food, I have to say it is amazing and very flavorful. I definitely recommend chuys for a great lunch. Great job Chuys! read more

I've been going to Chuy's for years - since they first opened it seems in Houston! I love their happy hour, cheese enchiladas with no sauce, queso con carne and a frozen margarita with sangria on top... Always reliable and delicious. read more

Love Chuy's food... That stuff rocks. But the service here is absolutely horrible. They almost ruined my birthday dinner and when I spoke to the manager (which I NEVER do anywhere I go) they seemed like they could care less. My advice... Go to ANY other Chuys location, even if you have to drive to San Antonio. read more

I used to eat at Chuy's in Houston and really liked it. It has been about four years since I have been to one. This outing was quite disappointing. The food tasted much more 'institutional' than I remembered. The service was below average as well. Felt like a total 'churn and burn' treadmill to get customers in and out fast. read more

This is actually some of my favorite Mexican food, always great service the Mexican martinis and margaritas are greAt! It's just good solid tex next with a great atmosphere. read more

Took a couple of clients to an old reliable haunt at a new location. New for me at least. I'm a north Lamar guy and don't venture south of the river often but this new location has proved very convenient lately. The green chile's are in season and I opted for the chile relleno plate. Epic and huge are the only words I can use to describe this dish. The other bonus was the warm green chile salsa. If you've never celebrated the green chile with Chuy's, stop what you're doing and run to the closest location. A note for my vegetarian friends. My coworker wanted the chile rellenos I ordered but without the chicken. The waitress didn't bat an eye wen he asked for just cheese inside and they had the plates marked when they came to the table. Now that's service. read more

I have in-laws who live out of town and insist on eating here everytime they visit so we are here pretty often.... I love Mexican food, I could eat it everyday but there is nothing special here that I have tasted that has made me excited. Their drinks are really what keep me happy, yummy mexican mojitos and martinis Their tortilla soup is good and one time we came with a very large group and they were very accomodating. Its always crowded and there is barely room to walk with the layout but it is a fun atmosphere. read more

They're food is okay. It's definitely not authentic Mexican and they are a little pricy for Mexican food. I LOVE their jalapeno salsa. Delicious. The problem with them is every time I have ever gone my Tres Leche cake has only had strawberries once. I didn't go back the same week. These were spaced out. I think it got kind of ridiculous... so three stars for no strawberries and okay food at too high a price. read more
