So I think that maybe I'm starting to become obsessed with this place, is that bad? If you haven't tried Chuy's and you LOVE TEX-MEX, then you don't know what it's like to be in heaven.. let me explain.. Oh my god, Nacho Car. Guys, Nacho Car. What is the Nacho Car? Well, let me tell you! When you walk in, go directly to the bar, do not pass the hostess stand, do not look at the newest cheeky assortment of taco-themed t-shirts for sale, go directly to the Nacho Car. This heaven-sent wonder is an actual car trunk filled with fresh amazing Chuy's chips, beans, ground beef, their perfect queso, salsas and other fresh veggies. Oh wait, here's the BEST DAMN PART! It's free with the purchase of an entree. I know, I know, you're thinking "Why would I load up on free amazing nachos and then buy an entree?" Well, because that's the rules. Also, because you can just get your entree to-go! Do I have to do all your thinking for you?! Now to the actual menu- it hardly changes, so feel free to find something new and exciting each time you go! I LOVE the vegetarian option. You get a blue corn tortilla filled with delicious, seasoned vegetables (squashes, tomato, that sort of thing) and cheese and topped with whatever sauce you want. I love the Boom-Boom sauce! With this you also get a cheese Chile Relleno. Chuy's has the only chili rellenos I'll eat. The breading is practically the best type of crispy that exists, even under the weight of sauce, and it's filled with an unimaginable amount of jack cheese. The entree also comes with rice and beans. For dessert I'm usually more full than I can handle, but if I'm feeling particularly generous (to myself) I'll share the Tres Leches cake with a friend (aka me also). Holy crap, it's sweet! SWEEEETTTT but so amazing. And this cake is swimming in delicious milky thick sauce (Tres Leches, or 3 milks, is made with sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream and evaporated milk). They add a fresh, cute little strawberry garnish but who cares when you have the most amazing dessert to grace the earth?!?! BRB heart attack ~~~~~~~~ Try this place if you haven't, and please bring me some Tres Leches. read more

Food & service were outstanding. We had very prompt, polite service which was awesome considering it was Cinco de Mayo and the place was packed. read more

The Elvis Chicken with 'Boom Boom' Sauce is spicy goodness. The chips and salsa are fresh and enjoyable for what it is. Chuy's isn't authentic to the Mexican culture but it is certainly a nice spin of several different cuisine influences. The t-shirt wall is pretty 'catchy' and eclectic. They have some yummy drinks too, so check out the bar while you're here. Update on 4/3/2016: Visiting the Arlington location again. The food was excellent but the undesirable, dilapidation of society was present everywhere. Arlington is "ewww, so naaaaaasty." read more

Our server was very friendly, helpful and informative. I ordered the #4 chicken relleno with hatch green chile, steak enchilada with green chile rice, and refried beans. What can I say, everything on this plate was amazing. Have you ever had a steak fajita enchilada? If no, then come try out theirs because it was delicious! We are definitely coming back for some more of it. My boyfriend ordered the #1 which came with 2 enchiladas, 2 chicken flautas, a taco, rice and beans. The chicken flautas were delicious specially dipped in their queso. The cheese and ground beef enchiladas were okay (hard to say after having the steak enchiladas), and the ground beef taco was good too. The green chile rice has more flavor than the mexican rice. The refried beans had a lot of flavor. Thus restaurant is very kid friendly. They serve fries just incase youve got a picky little one like we do. The layout is also nice because it gives a lot of privacy. The prices are resonable considering the amount of food that they serve. I am taking a star off just because their salsa for the chips was more like pico de gallo (its complimentary i know, but we look forward to chips and salsa) Will we come back? YES. We are coming back for the steak enchiladas (im still thinking about how delicious it was) read more

I like Chuys...I dont love chuys but I dont hate chuys either. If you come here...be sure to try their chuychanga and ask for the creamy jalepano dipping sauce with seasoned chips!!! YUM! chips and salsa is free!!!! they always promote their "famous" frozen margarita but it taste just like everywhere else....dont be fool by the "famous" word. they made it famous themselves! hhahha read more

Being from California, I was skeptical about Tex-Mex. What kind of variation can you have on Mexican food that we don't already have in Cali? I take it all back. Chuy's was fun and the chicka-chicka boom boom enchiladas were psychedelic. Yes, it's late and I couldn't think of any other adjective to put there. I missed out on the creamy jalapeno dip but will make sure to order it the next time I'm in town! read more

I always forget we have a Chuy's. Not sure why because the food is solid. It may have something to do with when I get my bill. Great Mexican food in Texas should be cheap in my humble opinion, but this isn't. Hence why I always forget about it. Started with queso. It's hot, creamy and has just the right amount of spice. Don't forget to ask for the homemade tortillas. It just isn't right otherwise. I had the soft taco plate and it was fine. Nothing special there. Again I loved the homemade tortillas. Daughter had the kids cheese enchilada and she loved it. Hubs got the Southwestern with the fried egg and it was delicious. When you cut into the egg the yolk just oozes onto the chicken stacked with blue corn tortillas. Definitely the best thing we had. Overall it's a great and crowded place. Just a tad pricy when there are many other options. read more

update to my review about the chuys in Arlington Tx. The manager called & explained they had no control over where the Handicapped parking places were placed. Owner of the Shopping Center did that. Hubby and I decided to try out Chuy's on a Tuesday evening, around 9pm. We were immediately greeted by Kaleigh, who explained she wasn't a host but could surely find us a table. We opted for a booth in the bar and luckily, she was our server as well. I explained this was our first visit and she took our drink order, recommending the strawberry and white peach swirl for me. It was AMAZING! Fresh flavor, perfectly frozen and quite tasty - I had three! Hubby ordered a margarita, which he said was good as well. She brought chips and salsa, and I asked for a side of green chile sauce....she asked if that was recommended to us and I said it was. She said she would also bring a side of their jalapeno ranch, which turned out to be a much better choice than mine! We also opted for the queso, which was perfectly creamy and had just the right flavors. For our entrees, hubby had the shrimp chile relleno, which was battered, fried and stuffed with shrimp and cheese. The batter was crunchy and added a different touch to a popular dish. Very good. I ordered the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas, which were bursting with moist chicken and cheese, covered in a spicy (but not unbearable) sauce with chiles, onions, cilantro and more. Very good with a double-side of green chile rice. When we were finished (with our to-go boxes loaded) we asked for chips and salsa to go, fully expecting to pay for these. Kaleigh returned with a big bag of chips, two tubs of salsa and two tubs of the amazing jalapeno ranch and said that was as much as she could give us without a charge! What great customer service. I highly recommend Chuy's for a great dining experience. The food is well-prepared, served hot and tastes very fresh. The salsa is delish and the service was outstanding. read more

Chuys, please forgive me. For underestimating your goodness and pretending to be white collar and judging the quality of your character and tastiness for whatever reason that seems so irrelevant I can't even remember. I hope no other unfortunate soul makes the same mistake as I. For, I would have never experienced the magic of your boom boom sauce Don't be an unfortunate soul. Feed your inner fat kid with all the deliciousness your very best amigo has to offer. I get the number 4 with boom boom and beef. Mix the retried beans and rice to be my twin. Bad day? Chuys. Great day? Chuys! Breaking your silly diet a week after New Years? CHUYS!! PS this is their best location. Double PS: I've heard their happy hour is amazing Triple PS: when they bring you chips and dip, ask for jalapeño ranch. read more

This place is packed for a Friday night which surprised me with the reviews being lower. Everything we had was really good. Enchiladas are great and the serving size is generous. The homemade flour tortillas are the best part. Service was quick and good too. No complaints. read more

Came back for lunch on Black Friday. Wow! Just awesome! I ordered the fajitas for two and about the time it seemed like our order was dragging the server came by and apologized for the delay. She stated the kitchen had to make a fresh batch of fajita meat but it would be out shortly. It was worth the wait. The fajitas were amazing. The freshness was something you could truly taste and we were well impressed. Our server came by again and checked on us and made some recommendations on the different salsas we could try as well. All in all Chuy's continues to impress and serve great food with a professional and courteous staff. read more

It's hard to go to Tex-Mex places because it never delivers the true Mexican flavor I'm looking for. Yes my mom always cooked for us and the standards for Mexican food are very high. I know that I shouldn't judge Tex-mex places since they are not true Mexican food. Well let me tell you this place always delivers. The service is one of the best in the Arlington highlands and if they ever have something wrong they ask no questions- they just make it better. The restaurant is always busy and for good reasons. They keep the place clean, they stay on top of things and on happy hour they have good drinks specials plus a nacho/chips and queso bar that's free if you sit in the bat area. One of my favorite things here is the charro beans. I know weird a Mexican that loves beans. They are spicy and have great flavor. My top pick for this place are the al carbon tacos. Their fajita meat is very tender and not tough like other places. Next time you want good service and great food stop by and try it for yourself. read more

So if you look through my reviews you'll see the food I eat the most is Mexican food. I tend to be a bit finicky about my Mexican food, but Chuys does everything right. From the light and crisp tortilla chips, to the Super fresh and bursting with flavor salsa, this place knows how to please the palate from the jump. There is nothing I dislike on the menu, hover my personal favorite is the ground sirloin burrito with boom boom sauce. I wish I could cover everything with boom boom sauce. ..like literally everything. The world would be a better place if boom boom sauce was readily available. Did I tell yall I love the boom boom sauce? So yeah, Chuys also has a kick ass happy hour which includes cheap booze and a nacho bar which is FREE!!! If you've not been, I suggest you run here. You will not be disappointed. Oh and get some boom boom sauce. You'll be glad you did! read more

I love their fajitas, but their service is really slow. The music is a little too loud sometimes.

My wife and I had a great lunch yesterday at Chuy's and in addition to the great Mexican dishes the service was ABSOLUTELY first class. Our service was Pedro and he kept us in beer and cold glasses, cut up cerano pepers and special sauces. When we left he filled a bag with chips and all four sauces we had ordered and some leftover food. Wow!! He was polite, extremely courteous, and completely attuned to the Covid 19 risks and his work in infection control made us feel taken care of. Special thanks. Dr John. and Karan Quincy read more

Chicka chicka boom boom, will be there be enough room? Not only is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom one of my favorite childhood books, it's also my favorite item on the menu at Chuy's. Their enchiladas are super yummy! Chuy's is a great spot for lunch as they get you in and out quickly. It's also a great spot for happy hour. You can go to the nacho bar, which is in an old car, and get chips, queso, and salsa for free while you sip on their margaritas. Chuy's is great for dinner as well. I have never been disappointed with waiting, the food, or the service. That's why I keep coming back. read more

I am giving it 4 stars because the food and service is always awesome. Tonight they are a bit under staffed so we are in for a wait. But hey, when has anything worth it not taken a while? Nothing out of the ordinary at this place that you wouldn't get at pretty much any other Mexican restaurant in the local area. This Chuy's is the best location!!! I have never had such a great dinning experience as I did here on a Sunday."Which is normally very busy for restaurants" the server did great with our table of 4 but what was amazing was how kind and caring the manger Sam was. I have celiac disease and he went above and beyond to make me a fantastic gluten free meal using rotisserie chicken fajitas since the other meat is all soaked in alcohol besides the rotisserie chicken. He knew exactly what was gluten free. Most restaurant mangers have no idea. He even went and cut me up two whole bell peppers so I had something to dip my guacamole in for a appetizer. Sam also cleaned the tortilla grill for my corn tortillas. If you have a gluten allergy you can safely eat here just ask for Sam and he will take good care of you!! I'm Extremely sensitive and did not get sick or break out in hives. My entire family enjoyed there meal and service! Thank you Chuys in Arlington!! read more

Their beef fajita meat has gotten worse over time. The last time I went I ordered a steak burrito and the meat was extremely dry. They have had several special items that were very good but they always disappear from the menu. Why don't they put the good stuff on the permanent menu? By good stuff I mean -- shrimp or chicken taquitos, grilled pork burritos & tacos I still love their sauces but haven't found anything on the 'regular' menu that's worth coming out for. I guess I'll just wait til next year's hatch chile festival. read more

Have yet to eat here. But I enjoy coming for free chips and salsa, while drinking a beer, and watching the TV. I sit at the bar and service has always been good. Usually I love Chuy's but my last experience was not good. I ate my lunch received a bill and paid for it with my credit card. As I got up to leave the manager (also my waiter) stopped me and told me I hadn't paid my bill and was skipping out. I had already paid this same person and he was the one who is to skip out. Once he figured I had paid he actually made no effort to apologize. I like to come but am very annoyed at this experience and hope this terrible manager isn't so quick to assume the worst in people. read more

Been coming to chuy's for as long as this location has been here and use to drive to Dallas when there were none near me. Today I was extremely disappointed. We always have ordered a side of grilled onions to go on the mexi Cobb salad but today were not informed that this would be an additional $3. If we had been told prior to ordering then we could have made a decision based off that. Instead we got the surprise when the tab was presented. The manager explained food cost have risen which I understand however the literally 1/2 cup of grilled onions and 1 tiny pepper in a dish was not worth $3. I feel if a restaurant is gonna enact a price change (from FREE to $3) then train your servers to inform the customers of the new changes. A "good" manager should have removed this item today only and said in the future there will be an upcharge, but he did not. We will definitely weigh this when we decide where to eat. We definitely won't be frequenting this place the 2-3 times a month as we use to. read more

We went to Chuy's on a friday evening after work w/ my friends from work, walked right in at 5:30 and it was a little busy but we didn't mind sitting out on the heated patio and we got right in. We had an amazing server, Kelsee she hooked a sista up! I know I'm a picky eater but she definately got my order correct with all my modifications~! I loved how they had a Nacho Bar, where you can choose chips, different kind of salsas, queso cheese, beans and beef. It was friday and they were busy so they needed to have it more stocked up, it was a little empty, but non the less our server refilled our chips even at the table with out asking. The patio was continously busy but we got our food fast and efficient and people were coming in and out of there the whole time we were out there. YOU GOTTA GO :) read more

Chuy's - Amazing faijitas, strawberry daquiri, chicka chicka boom boom enchilada, and great salsa! - Mexican Near Me - Arlington, Texas

Yum! I love this place. They were my first introduction to Tex-Mex, and after trying a few other places, it's still my fave. I am a pescetarian now (veggie plus seafood), and I've figured out my perfect combination of items. Bring a friend (or two) and share the "special nachos." They are a platter of chips, slightly thicker to hold the individually loaded array of toppings. They are simply delicious, and each bite has everything you want. Then, have some shrimp and cheese chile rellenos topped with their spicy queso sauce. Holy cow! If you're lucky, it'll be the perfect time of year for spicy peppers and these will knock your socks off. I even think the beans are excellent. They have flavor, instead of just being a typical pasty texture. The rice is fairly bland, but whatevs, you can't win them all! They can be busy, but if you're down to sit in the bar area, you can often shave that wait time down to nothing. read more

Just as a forewarning, there isn't a lot of tex-mex that I like. As a matter of fact, I loathe it. I love Mexican, and grew up eating the authentic stuff because my best friend's mom is a magnificent cook (best rice and beans forever). Chuy's beans taste canned. The rice is dry and flavorless. It's all pretty classic tex-mex and if that's what floats your boat, more power to you. Two stars because I liked the guacamole and the watermelon margarita.
