I went to get some food from here and they were busy. I walked inside and stood in line for a while I looked around and the seating area was definitely in need of a cleaning. After about 15 minutes I finally ordered. The staff were friendly. It did take them an additional 15 minutes to wait on my food because they were waiting on okra. I took my food back to the hotel to eat because I was not sitting in the restaurant with the crowd and the dirtiness of it. After seeing several food reviews on YouTube for Church's Chicken, my wife and I decided to give our local location a try. It was pretty crowded for a small place and a bit hectic getting to the counter. The gentleman taking my order was polite and patient, even while helping a woman ahead of me who was struggling with multiple cards. He offered recommendations and made the experience pleasant overall.Once we got the food back to the truck, we immediately understood why it was so busy. The chicken was tender and juicy, though a bit greasy. The honey butter biscuits were fluffy and fresh. The mashed potatoes were average but perfectly acceptable, especially paired with the biscuits. Zero complaints. I also ordered jalapeños on the side after seeing people bite into them before eating the chicken or use the juice on it, and that was a game changer. I love spicy food, and it was awesome. We had our doubts going in due to the negative reviews, but neither of us had tried it before, and we're glad we did. Since The Pandemic's mask procedures have been lifted it's been easier to order meals from here. What we did was use online coupons, went in to order and picked it up through their window. Lots easier than when Covid procedures were in place. The chicken was on point as were the sides. There's a few options in Yuma for chicken meals and this rates at the top of the list. If you're in it for the tenders or sides don't waste your time, the tenders were like warm at best and the Mac and cheese side was terrible. We were hoping for so much more. Just ordered chicken sandwiches and fries because Chick-fila is awesome but we wanted to try someone else. Got order as a takeout. Went home and chicken sandwiches were outstanding. Big chicken breasts hanging out of the buns, very crispy on the outside but still moist, perfectly cooked. The fries were pretty decent too. Only complaint was we ordered ahead and still had to wait a little bit, but no biggie. In my opinion they were under-staffed. Only two people working their asses off on a Friday night, doing their best. Not sure if they got an unexpected rush or what, but those two were hustling. I was over it and just threw my entire meal in the trash. If OSO can't count to 5 I'm sure the rest of the food was garbage. I am just leaving this establishment after having an encounter with the assistant manager (Alma). The level of service was severely lacking in the fact that a paying customer wanted to modify the 8pc special to not include thighs. I have been to numerous church's chicken locations and have never been denied the ability to mix and match the same order. My issue here isn't that it's against this self-owned establishments policy to accommodate my request to modify my order, but in the manner which it was handled by Alma. I advised Alma that I'd simply take the 8pc special including the thighs and would pay the difference or extra money for two (2) additional breast pieces. She did not understand the request in which I was willing to pay for the proper order I wanted and instead refused service because "I wasn't listening" to her. Long story short Yuma PD arrived and handled the situation with such professionalism and got her to provide me with the number of Bernardo after she refused to give any detail and ignore me. My other frustrations with Alma were her lack of empathy toward the associate she was training behind the counter. After witnessing her basically bully the poor kid to not acknowledge me and provide customer service she sent him into the back corner (as if he couldn't hear or engage with further). I applaud him for trying to handle the situation unfortunately his leadership is in a position not suited for her ego. In the end she decided to not trespass me even though "I had been extremely rude and belligerent to her"; enough to call the police and waste their time and the three(3) other customers behind me. Ridiculous enough all we wanted was chicken! Needless to say I felt that Alma was extremely rude to me as a paying customer and I will not be returning to this location. Bernardo who is the acting GM as of this posting will receive a call from me and hear about my experience engaging with Alma. I know nothing is likely to happen, but I wanted to let ya'll know how this establishment currently treats customers. Hopefully policy can be modified to accommodate the customers, or a no-substitution sign is clearly displayed. read more

I don't know why I expected anything more than frozen and bagged crinkle cut fries, frozen boneless chicken wings, and mashed potatoes that were just sitting. The cashier was very friendly. It's super hot in the eating area. Maybe broken AC. I understand it's very hot outside and they ate continuously frying food in the kitchen but it's not reasonable that it's this hot. Other food places manage just fine. Church's is one of my favorite places when I crave fried chicken; their chicken is clearly the best. Even with that, this location was even better than the others. Not that the other locations are usually greasy, this chicken wasn't greasy at all. Although I wanted a big meal, it was about noon and I just needed a snack so I got the 2 pieces with a biscuit.
