Happened to pop in twice with two different types of crowds…read more First night came in with my younger cousins and sat at the bar. Rest of the family was home cooking dinner so we were really just grabbing a beverage and an app to split. There was live music, had a very difficult time understanding what he was singing even though we knew the songs. Bartender was very chill and did a great job. Place was busy so reservations would be ideal rather than popping in. Second night the other half of my family came for dinner. We had an appetizer of buffalo cauliflower which was good. I enjoyed my shepherds pie, grandfather liked his fish & chips (which I seen a lot of people order the night before). My uncle had chicken wings while my cousin had chicken sandwich, both were pleased with their meals as well. I imagine there is a lot of traffic from the hotel in the same plaza. Parking can be very difficult later in the evening. One thing that aggravated me was the lack of care to keep a clean sidewalk free if ice and snow. I say this because my girlfriend is disabled and where the handicap parking spot is the ramp and the sidewalk leading to the main entrance was covered in snow. Not only that anyone who is elderly would have difficulties walking as well.

There are many…read moreterrasses in Montreal that could have easily accommodated our needs, but I saw the courtyard/garden at the Burgundy Lion which looked like a great space, plus they are dog friendly. I made a dinner reservation and made a note that we would like to sit in the courtyard/garden and that we would be bringing a dog. When we arrived, we were told we could not sit in the courtyard/garden, since we would have to enter the restaurant to access the courtyard/garden, and that dogs are not allowed inside. This was not a big deal, but I wish they could have let me know in advance. The restaurant had a terrasse outside which was dog friendly, and where we were directed to sit instead. Overall, service was good. One of the employees stopped by a few times to offer my dog water, which was very sweet of him. I expected the food at the Burgundy Lion to be mediocre, we didn't particularly come for the food, but for the fact that they are dog friendly. I had a salad, but this was such a well- made salad, and the portions were huge. I enjoyed it immensely. My husband also enjoyed his fish and chips. We split a bottle of Nebbiolo which tasted okay.

This microbrewery replace St-Houblon who closed last years. Even if they don't changed much of the ( more modern) decoration they put a better ambiance tothis place. The beers is excellent, i choose the beer flight wich let you choose four beers on the menu, and i particularly like the iPAs and the dry stout was also exquisite. The menu is a bit more fancy then what you find in microbreweries, you have tartar ( salmon, beef) and brisket on poutine as well as fish n chips and burgers. I tasted the poutine briket and it was excellent.

All of the beer we had was very good and I finished with a sour that really topped the charts for sours. We snacked on some poutine with beef on top and we thought it was very delicious but just didn't have room to try anymore of the entrees. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived and we were tucked away in a little corner, but that was okay because there were large groups of people there for various celebrations and it was quite loud. So we were kind of happy that we had our own little nook.

Working in Montreal for the week and while hunting around for dinner I did my usual Yelp'ing! I…read morediscovered Pub BreWskey near my hotel so I decided to check it out! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called "Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard", but "lapin" translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil' cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit. Same goes for the specials on the chalkboard! Thank you for reading and supporting local businesses.
