Absolute waste of time. I contacted this law firm over a month ago for help drafting a letter regarding a fraudulent contractor who was over-charging us. After the initial meeting, Mr. Ching committed to writing a letter for us and then never followed up. We continued to call and email the firm weekly, and his admin assistant told us repeatedly that the letter would be sent the following week. It was never sent. It's now been over a month and their phone line seemed to be disconnected. read more

Even though reviewing my documents, helping me prepare for hearings and preparing affidavits was covered by my plan they kept steering me to sign a contract with them to bypass coverage. I do not recommend this firm. I have worked with a few attorneys in the last 5 years and they started well but changed and did not treat me well as a small client. They may have had staffing issues that may have caused some of the issues but the principles have never acknowledged the concerns I had and handled my concerns poorly enough to warrant this review. My concerns are documented and supported by emails. As background, I retained them for a property tax appeal as they assured me they had experience dealing with cities and governments and procedures. I was on a flat fee retainer which caused some problems because in my opinion, as soon as they exceeded with two attorneys duplicating effort they became less eager to continue. First of all, they were frequently unresponsive on basic duties. There were missed appointments where I would schedule and wait for a call that never came or I would call and be informed the attorney was out of town (so why was my appointment even scheduled?) The biggest hindrance was that the attorney Edward Chung did not take the time to read my few emails (never too many from me, once per month checks, then weekly, then a couple on days things were going on, but they seemed like more due to resending duplicates). Multiple times I had to call in and repeat things or direct them to my email, a couple of times I got emails from them that asked for information I had given them just the day before. When I brought up these concerns, my wife and I were blamed when there were clear emails showing they dropped the ball. One time we were forwarded available dates for a meeting, we answered and left voicemail, but the other side was never informed and showed up. Edward's office clearly miscommunicated and instead of fixing it he complained at how hard it was to arrive at a time when his staff was responsible. We were told to help them more, and to stop being critical, when we had been answering every email they requested in less than a day vs. weeks for our unanswered questions. We laid out the timeline and forwarded emails from before but they did not acknowledge that it was their fault. No accountability. Instead, they threatened to drop representation saying we had a poor working relationship because I politely pointed out they did not meet some of their own stated commitments and I did it in the most friendly and constructive way. It was just a poor experience. Getting into the legal issues, I received some unprofessional emotional responses from one attorney, Mr. Mantel, who later was transferred to their other East Coast office. It's true the settlement talks were very involved at first but could have been more optimal with one attorney not two and in general everything was great at first but something happened with the firm that it just stopped being on top of things. Perhaps this was due to the flat fee retainer and being reassigned to two or three different paralegals because they kept leaving the firm. The interrogatory deadlines were missed, I provided the answers and discovery information on time, had to come into the office to go through it again with another paralegal to put it together, and just noticed no one looked at it until it was overdue and had to be rushed out the door. I even tried for months to obtain a case schedule and finally was given one and then held to it when it was too late while the attorneys were not held to it when there was enough time. All along, I had to do most of the work and lay out the data because all they did I felt was format and not get into the issues until I pushed. In the end, I spoke directly with the opposing attorney and was informed some of the information I provided did not make it over. She was actually pretty responsive and we agreed on a settlement, although Mr. Chung did not make any modifications to the document like other attorneys I have worked with or against did for their clients, but he pressed as he had for every prior offer even when they were clearly not in my favor and I had to point out to him that they were very poor offers. I did see one of the last emails he wrote to opposing counsel was entirely about how he was not representing me on any years but 2013 because they we were offering a long-term settlement. I even offered to cover any extra work to include other years of property taxes and the city wanted to as well. It was just disappointing to see his focus on getting out of responsibility rather than the terms or numbers in that email. Two months later, as of the date of this writing, I am still waiting for funds and received no follow-up, just kind of left alone for the last mile. In summary, we were just disappointed with the representation, it became inefficient because of these flaws which hurt both the firm on billing and me on success. I would not recommend for small or large cases due to the office not running smoothly. read more

I am truly disappointed with this law firm. I was never able to even speak with Dr. Malhas and after being rescheduled multiple times with no follow up email, I gave up. I emailed to their office many times to try and reschedule or at least get any type of response at all, with nothing. I've since reached out to other immigration offices and lawyers and they have all replied and been responsive to my inquiries. I understand if Dr. Malhas' office is busy and have many clients, however they did not give any appreciation to my potential business and it was overall a really disappointing and disheartening experience. read more

Scheduled an appointment during office hours with an attorney here. I left work early and arrived at the office early, as was recommended by the receptionist, and filled out the forms. I then waited 30 minutes past the scheduled appointment time at which point I asked the receptionist why the attorney had not seen me yet. She went to the back room to check on the status of the attorney and said the attorney did not appear to be wrapping up with the previous client. She asked me if I wanted to reschedule to which I replied "no, thanks" and promptly left. They wasted my time, did not apologize, and they will probably do the same to you. Don't waste your time with this bunch. read more

This company sits on your money. We made a depost of a large amount and then changed our minds to go with them. We asked to get our money back. No service was provided so there was nothing to reconcile or to hold on to the money. They told us that it will take 30-60 days to return the money. The billing team very unprofessional and could not really explain why it will take 30-60 days except its "company policy". Be careful when you put money down..and immediately change your mind. They will not refund your money and will make you wait for 30-60 days without good reason. read more

Terrible. I scheduled a consultation with them and they wasted time screwing me around for almost two hours. They called me to tell me that Mr. Chung was not available because he was in a conference even though I scheduled an appointment a week in advance. They said they would call me when he was ready. Then after two hours I could not even get ahold of the receptionist over the phone. Very unprofessional and very rude. Don't waste your time with people like this. read more
