    Feldman & Lee PS

    Feldman & Lee PS

    (4 reviews)

Sophia's review is 100% correct -- Feldman & Lee are in cahoots with Lynnwood Courthouse & PD,…read moreespecially Judge Stephen Moore, aka "Judge More Time" as he is commonly referred to, since you are guaranteed MORE jail time if he is presiding over your case. The retail giants in the area--Macy's, Nordstrom, Target, JCPenny, Fred Meyer, and others--are also working with Lynnwood PD, Judge Moore, the associates from Feldman & Lee, and other state officials to ensure you get from point A (getting charged) to point B (jail) without the slightest chance of walking away with a record free from criminal convictions. They want to make an example out of you. They want to bleed you dry. They want to get you into the criminal "justice" system so that it's nothing short of guaranteed that you'll be a repeat offender and they'll see you (and your wallet) again and again and again and again. IMPORTANT: If you're thinking to yourself "I'm broke, I better just hire a public defender because it's free," YOU WOULD BE WRONG! Many states offer their residents criminal defense lawyers free of charge--Washington State is NOT one of them! You will be charged a few hundred bucks at MINIMUM for these clowns to help usher you along to your jail cell. Take my advice: Do whatever you need to do to scrape a little bit of cash together & hire a private attorney, who will actually be working FOR you instead of AGAINST you. I highly recommend the law office of Lance Fryrear, and I only wish I had known everything I'm telling you now & had hired him sooner instead of that chump Patrick Feldman & I would still have a clean record. While Lance couldn't go back in time & tell me not to sign my guilty plea, he & his associates did work tirelessly to ensure I stayed out of jail when Judge Moore was trying his best to put me there. Patrick Feldman, by comparison, couldn't even stay another 10 minutes for my name to be called on my court date. Instead, I got up to the front and was greeted by someone else from his office who not only was completely clueless about my case, but didn't even know how to pronounce my name. To add insult to injury, when Judge Moore started verbally harassing me, calling me names, mocking me & the details of my case, my so-called public "defender" did nothing. Let's rewind a bit... Before my initial meeting with Patrick Feldman, I spent hours of my own time gathering evidence to support my case, such as letters of reference, medical history, letters from my doctors & therapists, recent outtake form from an IOP, and anything else I could find that might help my case. The day I met him at his office, he made copies of everything and assured me that he would do everything in his power to help defend me & my case. However, when I showed up to my court date, he told me that there wasn't anything he could do & I should take a guilty plea. I would be convicted, I would serve time, I would have a criminal record. All for a first offense, for which I had already sought extensive treatment and professional help on my own. The severity of the sentencing, even with the plea deal, was baffling to me, especially considering it was a first offense. But if you're too poor to hire a private attorney to defend you, you also probably have never been to law school, or know what your rights & options are beyond whatever advice is given to you by your public defender. That's why you do NOT want to hire a public defender who is in the back pocket of the prosecutor, which in Lynnwood's case seems corrupt but it's true. Taking Feldman's advice that day was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made, and his lack of professionalism continues to negatively affect my life in countless ways. Employment, housing, travel and so on--Having a rap sheet makes professional and personal success extremely challenging. By comparison, within ten minutes of walking into Lance's office for my first appointment, one of his associates pulled up a docket from a year prior that had all the information needed to get my current case completely dismissed. The case Patrick Feldman said I had no other option but to my plead guilty to. If Feldman & Lee would have spent a mere two MAYBE three minutes pulling up & reading that docket (which they absolutely had access to) they would have been able to give me a proper DEFENSE. One final comment about money: The amount I had to pay Feldman & Lee for their services plus all the fines that came with my guilty plea, plus the setup cost plus daily fee of my EHM, etc... the total amount I ended up paying by going with the public defender ($1,892.00) was MORE than the flat fee Lance's office would charge for my case ($1,500). That's all I got.

In brief: 1) Takes cash via Zelle: $350 to do a Pay & Vacate, $1500 to for commercial eviction case to proceed (questionable?) 2) Voicemail states he does not listen to or return voicemails 3) Picks up no calls after receiving payment with 2 exceptions: You call with a different number or you threaten to file a complaint with the Washington State Bar. 4) Despite the threat of filing a complaint, six days afterwards, he still was too busy to provide evidence that a Pay & Vacate Notice has been even delivered. 5) Creative line of excuses: migraines, sister was in town, holidays, a blown tire. Since working with Mr. Dabling, our tenant has stayed in our commercial property continuing business and using utilities for an additional 4 months because we still haven't achieved the legal right to lock them out. I found him on Avvo, and yes, I did confirm his active business license first. Our household has worked with NUMEROUS attorneys over the years in various specialties. We are reasonable and know what to expect, how payment works, how long evictions or other cases usually take, and Mr. Dabling is the worst we have ever come across. We would not have worked with him if our previous eviction attorney that we stayed with for 20 years hadn't retired. Mr. Dabling is unprofessional, unreliable, and everything that is concerning about working with an attorney. My goal for this review is to protect others from his lack of services.

After meeting with him today I not only feel like the review on his avvo were misleading but that he was a completely different person than I was expecting, and not in a good way. He was extremely insensitive, assumed he knew more about my case than me made many generalizations and even went as far as to compare my case to that of others to not only diminish my pain and trauma but to make me feel like I was complaining about something that wasn't even a big deal or important. Knowing I was there talking about my sexual assault, I asked him a question about what objective evidence was since he was talking about it and he said to me," well you could leave here today and say I sexually assaulted you and you would need dna evidence to prove it because I would say no I didn't!" He took a phone call on his cell phone about a check going to the wrong address. All he did was keep telling me I took to long to seek justice and even suggested that I was trying to get revenge. I tried to explain that I was trying to prevent more rapes from happening... he rolled his eyes. And kept going back to telling me I should give up and let it go. I will not be letting it go, and I will not give up! 10- 10 would not recommend this guy for anyone! All of the stuff he put out for image was just that or stuff in real life he's not helpful trustworthy or kind. At one point he snakes his dog that was running around the office too! Right in front of me. You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals and he didn't treat me much better than he treated his dog. I hope this helps someone! I wish I never met him!

There are four areas that you should address with James, in writing, before hiring him: 1) Timeliness. He was impossible to contact by phone, so I was forced to use only email. His email responses took, on average, about 2 weeks. It usually required a second email from me to get him to finally respond. It took him over a month to create a cover letter. He offered an excuse about "a big court case" early on that caused the delays, but his timeliness never improved. 2) Billing practices. I never got a bill, statement, or log from him, ever. I asked for monthly statements at least 3 times. After pulling the plug with his firm about 1/3 of the way into the process, he kept the $5K deposit, simply claiming "There is not a reserve to be refunded". Note that my case was fairly straightforward and I only met with time twice and never talked to him on the phone. 3) Accuracy. As noted, the cover letter he wrote delayed the process by over a month. But aside from that, he misspelled my ex's name in it. It was then that I knew I had made a mistake in hiring him. 4) Infrastructure. His legal assistant was much more attentive and detail oriented than James himself. Unfortunately, the firm had computer and storage problems during the time I was with them which may have contributed to the delays and general incompetence. I would not recommend hiring James. You can certainly find a better lawyer in the area he serves.
