I happened to luck out and get there when they were in the middle of fresh squeezing a metric ton of orange juice....the smell was divine! I speak not a lick of Spanish, and the staff was patient and welcoming as I decided on the Mangonada (full spicy they asked...me...yes please) and the Esquites (full spicy? Why not! Large? Ummmmm heck yes please). The mangonada was 10/10 fruity and fresh with a great balance of chamoy and tajin! The corn...well...I have a personal rule...always order the corn! I'm glad I did it was perfectly grilled corn with a complimentary amount of cheese and spice and mayo! Also when you got to the bottom it was not a watery mess! I enjoyed the whole cup! Wayyyyy better than Tacos Al carbon's! While I sat and enjoyed my treats I perused the menu board with its appetizing photos! The Sandia Loca served in a hallowed out watermelon half looked so fun! So did the Pina Loca! There's a Charlie's Happy Corn taco truck out front for those looking for more substantial meals...but for me it would be a while before I'd be ready to try outside there's a good amount inside that warrants a return trip! The corn tortilla's were delicious! They were really soft and the meat was flavorful, but cold. It comes with four and all four had cold meat. The Birria juice was flavorful, but almost cold. I think sometimes when you order from these food apps they have multiple orders to drop off. If they don't have a hot or cold bag to keep it at the temperature it should be, then unfortunately the customer's food suffers. So I'm going to blame it on the the delivery app and actually go to the restaurant in person. I will give them another try and hopefully I'm correct in my assumption. Also I called before I ordered to see if they used fresh seasoning's due to my food allergies. The guy who answered the phone was super sweet and friendly. That's one of the reasons I am going to give this restaurant one more try.

The restaurant is located in the Home Depot plaza on the east side of Jog road. It's down the row from Sally's. They had a couple specials including one with 3 tacos that came with rice and beans. The menu is extensive. One thing I especially liked was the size choices as many of the items come in your choice of large or in "junior" sizes. To start we had a junior elote "en vaso". It was served in a paper cup with a spoon. Our server brought us another cup so we could share. There was a lot of cheese and mayo in it along with the corn. She brought the bottle of tajine on the side to add. It was good with the spice and a touch of salt. My husband chose the junior burrito combo plate that came with rice and refried beans. He had the ground beef. The junior size was plenty big and the meal was filling. I had a shrimp taco and a steak taco. I had them leave off the onions. They came with lettuce, tomato and cheese. I liked the shrimp taco better. It had lots of small grilled shrimp. The steak one was okay, but the small pieces of meat were rather dry. They gave us two sauces with our meal -- one green and one red. The red was very hot and the green was extremely hot. Gringos beware. Taste a tiny bit first before pouring these over your meal. My husband used the green sauce on his food -- and took a tums when he got home! I'm glad we came to try them. They are already attracting a steady stream of customers.

The girls at this place are always nice and have never had a complained with them. Some days on my trips I would still go by mid afternoon and they may have a couple pastelitos left.
