The sauce might as well been water, it added no flavor the the meal. The turkey was tasteless. As if it wasn't seasoned at all. I asked if they had lunch specials, like most places in the area, and the gentleman said fried chicken, griot, and another option. I decided on the fried chicken, which came with a choice of rice, salad, plantain, and pikliz. It was my first time trying pikliz, and I found it quite delicious. If you're looking for a menu, check Google, Yelp, or DoorDash -menu items with prices should be listed there. The lunch special at $15 is a really good deal! Other than that yes they are busy, ambiance nothing extraordinary. Id have to give them another try when im in town.

Unfortunately I think their quality has gone down. Last few times we went griot was dry, service was really slow and they didn't have the rice we wanted. I bought a dozen pattys a few months ago, and they were dry and hard. A few nights ago I wanted to get some Lalo and Legume, but not the complete meal, so without the rice. I asked for small, the cashier said it's only one size available. Price was approx $12 each. After waiting prob 20 mins, watching numerous other customers complain as they pick up their orders, (btw calling in is a nightmare), I finally got my food. 2 small 16oz containers for $24. Definitely overpriced for some vegetables. I get home to try it, the first thing I notice is how greasy it is. I could get a spoon and dip a layer of oil off the top. I tried it anyway but it just wasn't good. Had to throw it away. I got the same thing at a different Haitian restaurant a few days before that tasted much better, wasn't filled with oil and grease, and most of all, was half the price for the same size container of food. No more Alberte's for me.

Decided to start eating more turkey since I wanted to take in more lean protein so I opted to start incorporating turkey into my diet. Saw that they had it on their menu and added it not thinking I'd care for it much, but since turkey was what I needed, turkey was what I got. And WOW! Crispy, crunchy & even fatty pieces that completely changed my mind about how I can eat turkey and how turkey can be prepared. Not to mention the turkey had a subtle spicy kick to it. Went with a salad instead of the rice & beans (though I can only imagine how good that would've been with this platter. The two sauces that come with food have a nice kick to them and were friggin' DELICIOUS. This spot literally made me think of turkey in a whole new light. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This place had a delicious griot meal that came with rice and beans a salad a spicy slaw and some amazing juice or whatever it's called that you get to dunk the pieces of delicious tender meat into. Everything in this little container tasted absolutely amazing I really am considering bumping this review up to a five. The reason I won't give it a five is because it has very limited space to eat inside and the price is perhaps a dollar more than the other spot I go to. I might come back and try their chicken and if that proves to be just as delicious I will gladly give them a perfect score. For now it gets my ultimate recommendation and a score that means I will come back here regularly.

The women working there saw me when I walked in, but no one acknowledged me or even asked what I needed. Instead, they went into the kitchen and closed the door, seemingly to avoid having to interact with me. The place was not busy I was the only one in the building. The attitude and customer service were very rude and unwelcoming. The two ladies were giving sass or were upset with each other from what it seemed. All around rude experience. I was looking forward to trying the food, but the way I was treated made me decide to leave. Hopefully, management takes the customer service issues seriously because customers should feel welcomed and respected when they come in. they don't answer there phone and if you don't speak creole they give you major attitude and hang up on you.

I typically get the fried turkey with rice and beans. The price is about $21 a plate and is a good amount to have about 2.5 servings. The turkey is crispy and a good portion sized. The staff are nice but it is an incrediblely long wait- even if you order ahead, which I recommend doing. The space and ambiance is challenging.
