Let me say, the service was absolutely nonexistent, you need to know what you want because they don't even have a menu! I asked if they had lunch specials, like most places in the area, and the gentleman said fried chicken, griot, and another option. I decided on the fried chicken, which came with a choice of rice, salad, plantain, and pikliz. It was my first time trying pikliz, and I found it quite delicious. If you're looking for a menu, check Google, Yelp, or DoorDash -menu items with prices should be listed there. The lunch special at $15 is a really good deal! When I first walked up the owner Jordan was pleasant and will to answer all my questions. I downloaded the menu on my phone l, place an order and it was ready within 15 minutes. I took the food to go, but I'd also had the option to eating inside their store front. I wanted to try the food truck that has a different menu than there mother store. I got the plantain sandwich with rice and Mac and cheese and it was so good. The owner is professional and they let you see you food prior to sealing up the bag which I like. Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...my second home is in Lake Worth, Florida so Alberte's is my go-to Haitian spot. I used to really love this place and it's past set-up where the food was displayed and set in the counter and you selected that way. However I had not been here in awhile and my husband warned me it changed. The food is in the back which is not an issue but there display menu is not clear. We went there and I had to ask if they had this and if they had that while there was a major line behind me of people waiting to order. Then there is the chaos of waiting for your food order. The level of confusion in when you get your order is ridiculous. The interesting part it used to be much better and I don't know why they changed. The ambiance was even better. This place is a staple regardless of the low ratings, and guess what, it's packed every time I go in. Sure they're not known for great customer service but that's not what you're going for. The food is consistent, consistently good, so good that I come here on a weekly basis. The other con is I just wish they hadn't raised the price on some of their dishes or I'd be eating there more frequently. I've tried many of their dishes, all great but the one I always return for is their Griot with Brown Rice and Peas, and of course with extra Pikliz. I've always only ordered to-go so I have no experience with dining there but I also never really see anyone actually eat there during the lunch rush. Their Haitian food meets and exceeds my expectations for classic Haitian dishes such as griot, bunun peze, diri a djon djon, etc. There is ALWAYS a line because real recognizes real. They are very rude and unprofessional, I called to ask if they were serving Griot and was told to hold, after about 7 minutes of me waiting the call "dropped", I assumed we were disconnected. I called again and was met with the same issue. I was very polite and trying to just figure out what exactly was going on. the last woman I spoke to was helpful and assured me they will be serving griot today but i've never experienced a problem like this before. Last time I was here was for Mother's Day. It was a Sunday and a couple hours before closing but surprising to me it was not packed or busy. The cashier was nice this time. I came for my first experience with a Haitian friend, and thankfully so! The employees here are Haitian, speak creole, and don't seem as friendly to those who aren't (or so I observed). They do speak English, but some don't speak it willingly, or will act as if they don't understand you, so I can agree with other reviewers who complained about terrible service. Though, I didn't personally experience it. We ordered the griot complete meal for $11. It came with your choice of rice, I chose the option with pinto beans, it comes with fried pork, two plantains, and a small basic salad. The portions of food are huge, which match the price, and everything was delicious! I also tried the beef pastry (cheap; no more than $1.50), which had a fresh, flaky crust, and stuffed with very tender, flavorful beef. I ordered the mango juice to drink, and it was so sugary but very delicious if you love mango like I do. It seems to me, from previous reviews, that people take the Haitian attitude a little too personally. In America we are used to having people in the service industry cater to our every need, while being polite.. This is not the Haitian way. If you can deal with the impersonal attitude, the food is totally worth it. I will definitely be back now that I know what to order! read more

Today was my last visit to Alberte's. I'm officially in search of a new Caribbean restaurant in the area. Called in an order of griot complet and some accra for pick-up. Was told it would be 20 mins. and would cost $9.50. I called back a few minutes inquiring about some jerk chicken. They told me "we sell it but we can't price food over the phone". Be weary of any restaurant which does not openly give you the price when you ask or does not have it posted. Against my better judgement, I ordered the jerk chicken when I got there. 3 pieces for $5.75 (this was after the lady behind the counter thought about what it should cost for awhile). Although the food was ready and sitting in front of them waiting for me, they finished a whole conversation before bagging and handing the food over to me as I waited. Service is ridiculously poor and thus the cause for my last visit. read more

However, I like this place and I believe this place can be good if they hired the right people. After the renovation, this place was good but now I don't know what's going on there. On Saturday February 26, 2022, I made several calls to try to order some food there but no one cares to pick up the phone.
