    Crunchy shell tacos
    Emily T.

Was in the plaza and I saw a Now Open sign for Taco King! I love trying new places so I wanted to get a few tacos for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in, the restaurant is nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating for dine-in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were also an eye capturing display of desserts by the front door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went straight back to the counter and ordered with the cashier. He answered our questions. There were a few things that we didn't see on the menu that they were able to accommodate. For their jr tacos, they didn't state on the menu if it can be changed to flour tortillas - it can. They also don't have camaron - shrimp - listed on the jr tacos but they can make it. We ordered about 6 tacos, 2 drinks and a side of rice & beans. It came out to under about $45. The food only took about 10 minutes which was great! We did take out and ate it at home. Great taste. I didn't like that they used baby shrimp in the shrimp taco. The carne asada was a bit dry but a great portion size. They also have a pretty appealing lunch special - 3 tacos + rice and beans for $9.99. I would come back and try that for sure.

I really wanted to like this place, but it left much to be desired. The tacos were below average, but the birria one was pretty good. I got the steak chimichanga and it had more rice and beans than steak. I could literally count on one hand the pieces of steak in it, and it's actually quite small for the price. As much as I'd love to support this small business I have to say I won't visit again.

I wanted to love this place but the food is mediocre at best. If the prices were cheaper, it would make sense, however the quality and portion of the food doesn't match what they're charging. Of course this is my opinion. If I'm paying $17+ for 3 tacos and rice and beans, then there are actual places that offer higher quality steak and larger portions. The steak tacos were dry with lots of gristle, tasted off, almost like freezer burn. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean and the waitress was attentive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately it's not enough for me to come back.

::::Insert eyeroll here ::: I was so excited to have an authentic taco spot near my house. I left my workout class today and decided to stop and pick up some food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean and well lit inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lady that helped me was super nice and helpful with the questions I had. I asked If I could get crunchy tacos or did they only have soft. She told me I could get crunchy. I ordered one beef , one chicken and one spicy pork all with extra cheese. The food came out quickly and she gave me a menu and told me I can order ahead next time. I got home opened the box. 3 tacos with extra cheese for sure but they were SOFT TACOS Ugh. Anywho I decided I wasn't going back so I ate them. The beef taco was just ok. The chicken one was dry and the spicy pork has no taste whatsoever. What a disappointment great friendly service but the food was very underwhelming.

Brand new Taco King located east of the Home Depot. Cute little Mexican restaurant with big taco flavor! They have takeout too! Service was good. Very attentive and owner visited our table and made her recommendations. Which I have posted below.

She needs to be fired !

Inside they have specials menus on removable hanging boards depending on the time of day. They only serve breakfast and lunch and they do a great job at that. My husband ordered the Burrito Special from the board and I ordered the Sirloin Burger and scrambled eggs which came with a bread choice and of course I had to have the fresh baked biscuit. The food was simply delicious and other that we waited 30 minutes to have our food hit the table, we loved the experience. Service was friendly even to a non regular but they seem to have a steady flow of regular diners throughout the morning. Don't forget to check out their desserts spinning in the carosel.

We waited a bit and were able to get a parking space. Once inside, the first thing you see are the cases of amazing baked goods. They had a really good selection of mini pastries and I chose a chocolate eclair. The pastry was light and airy, a perfect contrast to the sweet cream filling and chocolate topping. My husband got the elephant's ear, which he said was light and flaky. We each got bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, mine on a fabulous, sweet, and large croissant. Oh, so good! The egg was thin and folded, just enough crispy bacon, and a slice of white American cheese. I was a big fan of this sandwich! My husband had his on Cuban bread, and the sandwich was grilled. He loved it! They also do great coffee drinks! I give them an A+ for offering all their coffee drinks in decaf. I had a cafe con leche, which was rich and smooth. My husband had an iced cappuccino, which I have to get next time. They topped the drink with a pike of whipped cream. He drank every "last tasty bit," as he described it. In addition, the staff is very friendly, sweet, and helpful. We highly recommend Enzo's.

The ambiance was quaint and inviting. The bakery case is incredible, with a huge selection of pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats that make it hard to decide what to order. Seating is a bit limited both inside and outside, so I could see it filling up quickly during busy times. For breakfast, we started with the bacon, egg, and cheese croissants, and they were outstanding. The croissants were buttery, flaky, and had just a subtle hint of sweetness that made them even better. I paired mine with a perfectly made cortadito, which was the ideal complement to breakfast. Even though we were already full, we couldn't leave without trying dessert. We ordered a slice of cake that was a combination of flan and tres leches (I wish I could remember the name). It was so rich, creamy, and delicious that I had to force myself to share. After seeing all the Latin-style sandwiches coming out of the kitchen, I already know what I'm ordering on my next visit. If you're looking for an excellent breakfast, authentic baked goods, and great coffee, Enzo's Cafe & Bakery is absolutely worth a visit.

There was a healthy crowd, but we were seated immediately and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean, bright and contemporary. We started with Bloody Marys and passion fruit mimosas--all excellent. (Although they don't salt the cocktail rims, so sodium enthusiasts beware.) Breakfast and lunch are served all day, and pretty much everything on the menu sounded good. We went with the oxtail and grits, biscuits and gravy, and avocado toast, plus breakfast potatoes, sausage links and hash brown casserole. Exceptional. All of it. The oxtail was fall-apart tender, with a rich gravy over creamy, flavorful grits that had exactly the right consistency. The biscuits were huge and fluffy with a good crumble. And the avocado toast wasn't some sad little schmear of avocado--it came piled high with avocado, tomato and onion. Actually, everything was generously portioned. Come hungry and be prepared to roll out the door. One thing I especially appreciated: they were working on improvements to the menu that day and asking customers to try and give feedback on a potential new corned beef hash dish. There's something great about a locally owned restaurant actively engaging its customers and always looking for ways to get even better. I got the 'itis, but managed to churn out this review before the nap kicks in--because everybody should know about this wonderful little gem in Boynton Beach. Big John's Eatery: absolutely worth a visit.

As would be expected with a condo, there is very little guest parking - maybe 9 spaces- and they were all full. Thus, I parked on the street behind the condo. There is lots of free street parking all over this area, which is mostly residential. There is some construction being done on the front and side of the building, so the entrance is a little hard to find. It is on the West side of the building, and it doesn't look like the entrance to a restaurant AT ALL! Just a side door propped open with a large, wooden, hand-painted sign next to it announcing the Cafe. I walked into the door and accidentally turned into the kitchen. The cook greeted me warmly and redirected me down the other hallway. I loved this place already! The Cafe looks like an old Southern diner, in a very not-decorated-by-a-designer way, which felt very homey to me. Two diners greeted us when we came in, we sat ourselves at a booth table, and eventually our wonderfully eclectic and kind storytelling waitress brought us menus. The menus are lovingly written in a colloquial, storytelling style that is fun and warm to read. Otherwise, the peeling laminate menus are wonderfully non designed also, and again, I love this! The board of daily specials was special with cornbread french toast amongst the items. I loved seeing more than one regular menu item I have never seen anywhere else (grits inside an egg wrap. My friend chose a breakfast quesadilla. I chose to make my own meal by ordering a slice of (heavily touted on the menu) banana bread, hashbrown casserole, and grits with cheese. I loved every bite! The hashbrown casserole was giant, and crisped all over the outside, so cutting it open was a treat- delicious. The banana bread was light, moist, and also delicious. The grits with cheese were nothing different or special, which was exactly as I expected. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this quirky hidden cafe! Shoot! I am already craving hashbrown casserole and banana bread again...
