Street corn and chips and salsa
Renee S.

I met up with a friend here for happy hour on Wednesday evening after work. Overall we had a good time. Our server was cool and service was pretty efficient for how few staff there were. A book club was also meeting there that night but there were plenty of open tables. I guess since it's not located in a downtown spot this place isn't really busy. Salsa and chips are on the house but the salsa is super watery and tasted like seafood (probably unintentional and not my taste). I had an order of street corn and a barbacoa taco. Both were really good but I would for sure get the street corn again. The taco was yummy but didn't stand out to me. It was a nice spot to meet up with a friend and I would like to come back to try more items. There's a lot of space here so it could be a good spot for a casual business dinner, meeting up with friends or a group, or even a casual first date.

Short rib and shrimp tacos . They were underwhelming and look at how little onions they gave. Just a lack of consideration for the customer

I've never had sitdown Mexican that was more of a disappointment. Truly feels like the business just doesn't care about anything on any level. Salsa and guacamole clearly came from the bag completely processed. Watered down sludge. We were pretty much alone in the restaurant and it took 30 minutes to get six tacos to our table The server was knowledgeable at least I guess and pretty friendly The shrimp taco was not bad but again everything felt like they thawed it from frozen Chairs were pretty comfortable Music was very low and dishwashers were very loud in the back The lighting in the bathroom was extremely dim and could barely see where I was going Excited to see whatever restaurant comes after this one for this location because the scenery is pretty nice and eventually some restaurant will probably take good advantage of it

We arrived early at the restaurant on Thursday evening, just in time for the special bird-themed meal, which featured short rib tacos and rib empanadas, making it more unique than usual. I ordered a draft beer. My vegetarian dinner included a flavorful salad, along with other vegetable dishes. The service was prompt and efficient, and the decor was appealing. We especially enjoyed the outdoor terrace, which overlooked a peaceful lake. The inside dining room was beautiful. The next time we come, which we will do, we will try the other cacophony area, especially when it's not a good weather

So I think this place might've just opened or it needs something. It looks amazing. Friday reservation @7:45 maybe 8 tables as I'm walking to table. It's a cool vibe and nice bar inside, and have outside dining as well. Gorgeous space. Pros: Food was good. Not blown away. But good. The meat was certainly under seasoned. Both the chicken and asada needed more love. Margarita we wound up sharing was good. The beans and rice were on point. Nicely seasoned and Smokey. Cons: Service. A lot of people working but overall time between touches was lazy. Very friendly and nice but they just need guidance and training. On a personal note. I really think it's a good concept and want them to succeed.

Well, the ambiance is absolutely gorgeous! It looks amazing, the outdoor space as well. My husband had a steak with rice and beans and I had steak tacos. The food did taste delicious, no doubt about it. But the reason I can only give three stars is the amount. You would think we had gotten only appetizers ,for I have never had so little food on my little plate.! 4 small strips of beef and 2 little hard fajitas. My husband got plenty of rice and beans but his steak was pre sliced and placed 1/2 inch apart so it would look bigger. Very sad because nice ambiance, food delicious and service ok.

Located a few minutes down the road, I came across this cute little Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday evening. Taco Tuesday & a Karaoke night, SCORE! The place was lively, filled with music and offers outdoor seating. Our server was attentive and food delectable. (The sliders were a bit salty.) The carne asada fries were the highlight. I'll try again.

The service here has usually been disappointing, which is why we stopped coming. Today, I decided to give them another chance because I wanted to try their dessert, which I remembered being really good. Unfortunately, what we received was completely different from what they used to serve and from what they currently advertise on their website. On top of that, the taste was really bad. Such a disappointment, especially because this restaurant is so close to our home and we really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, after multiple bad experiences, we will not be coming back or recommending this place to anyone.

Carne Asada

I had the Carne Asada with a side of rice and beans, and to be honest, I read other reviews regarding portion sizing and I have to agree; this is probably the smallest steak I've ever had for $32. On the contrast, the side of rice and beans is fairly size-able! I also think the lake view location is fantastic and the style of the restaurant is really unique for Boynton. Regarding service, I will have to come back, because unfortunately since it was quite busy on Mother's Day, we waited over 45 minutes for our food. Also, the Carne Asada meals came cold, so I can't confidently say this was their best work. However, our server made the best of the experience and the staff was among the friendliest staff I've encountered

There's really not much to dislike about A'lu! From the ambiance to the food, everything was on point. The space itself is beautiful--open, stylish, and inviting, which makes me imagine how fantastic it'd be for a holiday party or a special event. As for the drinks, Margaritas Monday is a total win! Discounted margaritas? Yes, please! We tried both the Strawberry and Guava margaritas, and both were fantastic--refreshing, flavorful, and just the right balance of sweet and tangy. For food, we kept it light. Since I wasn't super hungry, we opted for the Asada fries. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The fries were crispy, but the cheese sauce, while good, wasn't exactly my favorite. It had a nice richness, but I think I'd prefer them without it next time. Service was solid--our server was multitasking, running the bar and the floor, so she was definitely busy, but still managed to keep everything flowing smoothly. All in all, A'lu offers a great blend of food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Whether you're popping in for a casual meal or planning a bigger celebration, it's definitely a place to check out!

A'LU is one of the most ambitious restaurant buildouts Boynton has seen in years. Huge, beautifully designed space with dramatic lighting, a strong bar presence, and enough room to host serious events without feeling cramped. This is not Tex-Mex. The menu leans San Diego/Baja with regional depth -- smoked short rib mole, goat birria, Siete Mares seafood caldo, steak chimichurri, and a creative corn "lasagna." The overall polish reminded me of the specialty restaurants at upper-end Riviera Maya resorts -- composed, elevated, and intentional. Standouts: *Empanadas with a delicious smoky braised meat filling (would prefer sauce on the side). *Smoked short rib mole -- tender and well layered. Ask for rice or tortillas; they're happy to bring them. *Goat birria taco -- flavorful and not gamy. Go light on the consomé. *Siete Mares -- tomato-based seafood soup that reminded me of cioppino. *Corn lasagna -- creative vegetarian option. *Strong mezcal and margarita program. Pricing reflects the ambition: Apps $12-$18 Tacos $6-$9 each Entrées mid-$20s to low-$30s Cocktails $15-$17 I'm usually critical of expensive tacos and elotes in Boca/Delray, but most of those spots aren't trying to be this regionally focused or ambitious. Here, the pricing aligns with execution. Bottom line: A'LU is operating at a higher tier than much of the immediate area. It needs more traffic. If you're in Delray or Boca and say there's nothing different nearby, this is worth the short drive.

It's a pretty space tucked away almost out of sight from the road. We started with guac & chips - they offered chunky or smooth. We tried the corn lasagna & the street taco entree. Both were very good. Service was on point. They have a large, beautiful patio that is partially covered.

Elote

Ate here a couple times the first time I ordered to go. The elote appetizer is phenomenal that's the reason I went a second time! I also had the carne asada fries they were ok. The second time I had the stuffed airline chicken breast it lacked flavor and was very dry. The beans and rice were ok. My friend had the tequila mahi and she really enjoyed it. The staff was nice. The ambiance is friendly we sat outside which was nice.

The Churrasco steak was actually really good--well seasoned and cooked nicely, definitely the highlight of the meal. The Mexican pizza was a hit for my son, he loved it. That said, there were some misses. The kids' hamburgers came out burnt and had to be redone, which was disappointing. The French fries also didn't seem fresh. Everything else we ordered was fine and enjoyable. Our server for a large party did a great job with splitting checks and remembering each meals along with topping off drinks. The inside of the restaurant could really use some attention. It looks a bit rundown, the tables were a little dirty, and the silverware wasn't clean, which took away from the experience. With some improvements to cleanliness, a refresh to the space, and more consistency in the kitchen, this place could easily be better. There's potential here, but right now it lands at a solid three stars.

We went straight over to the tablets, scrolled and placed our order, tapping a credit card to finish. We weren't really sure if there were specials or meals were the best way to order. It is Cinco de Mayo and Tuesday here and we didn't see anything special. We grabbed a table near the walk of fame and sat down to watch the music video while we waited for our food. Our lunch was okay the tacos were a little messy crumbling as I was trying to eat them. They weren't full of fresh flavors, they just tasted washed out and watery.
