    J S West Propane

Just moved into a rental home with a propane tank one month ago. Never had a tank before and have…read moreno experience with how this works. Tank was 65% when I moved in. Checked the meter after a month and was stunned to see it sitting at only 5%. Called JS West in a panick and about fell out of my chair when they nonchalantly told me it will be *two weeks* before they can fill my tank. Explained propane heats my home and fuels my hot water. Was told "yeah we're really busy.. they'd have to talk to their boss and call me back." Now I'm terrified at the prospect of not having heat or hot water for two weeks. Worse, they own the tank and I don't think I have any other options. The fact that leaving someone hanging for two weeks is even a *possibility* truly disturbs me. If you have too many customers to service them adequately, obviously you need to hire more people and/or get more equipment. We're not talking about a window washing service or something. This is an essential utility!!! Heating is literally life and death for a lot of people. It's hour and still no call back yet. Will update. *** Update *** They called back and really did me a solid. They refilled my tank on Tuesday morning, first thing. I appreciate they've handled this rather irritating situation promptly and respectfully. Was going to blow a gasket if I literally had to wait two weeks!!!

Cam Electric - Ground mount Solar ElDorado Hills

    Cam Electric

I wanted to get solar for my house and I got quotes from all the "big boys" - the top sellers in…read moreour 3 county area. Then a friend of mine recommended Tim Weeks, owner of Cam Electric. My friend lives down Salmon Falls Road in El Dorado Hills, in a secluded gated community where there are a bunch recently built mini-mansions right on the lakefront. It turns out that Cam Electric did the solar for almost all these homes. When I got apples for apples quotes, Cam Electric came in over a third lower than my next lowest quote. When I showed the next lowest bidder (I won't say their name, but they are very reputable and they also did my pool water solar heating system) the quote for the exact same system, they were shocked. They didn't specifically know about Cam Electric, but they tried everything they could to scare me out of going with them. They said that for this price, Cam Electric would just shove the solar panel ground mount poles into the dirt instead of into concrete. This wasn't true. Tim put everything in concrete pillars in my 40 panel ground mount system. They said that Cam Electric was probably just "a guy and his truck", and do I want to make a long term investment with "a guy and his truck"? Well, this is a family owned business and I cannot even start to explain how much heart and soul Tim and his son put into giving me not only incredible pricing, but also an incredible customer service experience. Here are just a few examples * They came out many times during many times of the day to see exactly where shadows go on my 5 acre property. We looked at every surrounding tree and where they cast shade, and also all the structures (my house and 2 sheds). He even made recommendations on which trees to trim and which ones not to. He ended up finally finding THE perfect spot where not a single tree needed to be trimmed. By the way, Tim charges less for ground mount than roof mount - all the competition charged more for ground mount, not sure why. * There was never a time where I called and he didn't answer. We did have some issues with the transmitter box that was to send the panel utilization and production data to an app in my phone. It was nothing related to Cam Electric, it was related to AT&T/Yahoo firewalls and also the transmitter unit itself. Every time I called, he figured out a way to drive 20 miles same day to come look at it, latest the next day. It got to the point where I forced him to take some extra money because he was handling issues that were outside of his scope. He never complained or said anything though. * I have animals on the property and was worried they would rough up the panels. He put t-posts I had laying around the property into the ground and tied a rope around it, so that they couldn't get to it. I ended up taking that down because they love the summer time shade and don't bother the panels, but Tim did this over and above at his cost. I also recently had some electrical work done in my house by Cam Electric. I added to the scope once he came out, and he needed to make a 2nd trip the next day, but he didn't charge me for the 2nd house call. And his fees were so reasonable. I had an electrical problem just this morning and I texted him at 6:30AM. At 7AM he was on the phone with me and walking me through how to fix the issue. It was so easy, but I didn't know how to fix it. He just wants happy customers and doesn't think about dollar signs every time you need something. I've worked with many contractors, and have always noticed that the day before they have my money and the day after they have my money are two different days. I never get that feeling with Cam Electric. This was some of the best money I've ever spent, and now I have a trusted electrician that I never need to haggle with or worry about post sales service, and I also never need to put such jobs out to bid. I just go to Tim and know he will be fair and reasonable and will be there to help me. If you need electrical work or ESPECIALLY if you are thinking about solar, I can't recommend Cam Electric and Tim Weeks highly enough.

I tried to have my Home Warranty work on this issue last year, but the contractor kept insisting that I needed to hire a contractor and make sure that he had a skinny employee on staff. Well Intelli-HOME Energy ended up being a savior. With the evaluation it was determined that my bedroom alone was receiving 1/4 of the air conditioner air flow. No wonder last summer I froze and my roommates we over heated. They came in and determined that the previous owners contractor had left the old ducts in the attic from the remodel and Intelli-HOME Energy removed both sets of ducts and put in new ducting work along with more insulation. The true test comes in this summer when the heat is on and how cool will the house stay and keep my energy cost down.

Intellihome upgraded our HVAC system, insulated the attic, and made sure the home was properly sealed. They even took care of some electrical issues that weren't related to the work they were doing. Our bills promptly dropped by about $250, and the back bedroom that was uninhabitable is now a comfortable temperature. As a bonus, my husband's asthma improved with the better air quality. They had great communication through the process, and the whole team was very professional and courteous.
