The general flavor combinations were solid (read: nothing that's going to blow your socks off). It wasn't clear to me when I ordered the Pastrami if it was a Pastrami burger (it was not). What's on the menu is what you get. Then the potato fries - they were the tastiest part of it, but it all came in a single container and the pile of fries was diminutive. Ultimately, it was disappointing, but I have to admit that it was filling enough. The service took a while, though. The order taker was plenty kind, and the overall experience was ultimately satisfactory. Here's the thing: they aren't making ready-made food. It's made-to-order. So it's reasonable that they are actually putting the meat on the flattop that you can see flaring with flame as you're sitting by the takeout window. It's just that _really_ cooking food fresh is going to take longer. So, it's an expectation thing - as in: my expectations of a drive-thru were a mismatch with the type of food that was served. Overall, it was nice - I'd be willing to go there again, though maybe next time, I'd skip the fries and get another slider of a different kind. For the owners/menu-makers, I'd maybe suggest reviewing some of the menu options for sliders and see if there's a way to rewrite the descriptions/ingredients to highlight the key differences.

We could hear a duck that sounded like it was in distress and we went to check it out. There was a duck standing over a gutter and her ducklings fell down in and could not get out. It was too deep for us to reach them, and so we asked the manager if we could borrow a broom so the ducklings could climb up on it. She said "No, It's a safety violation". I said " I just want to borrow the broom for like five minutes or you could come out with me". Same response. For the next 45 minutes, my daughter and I found anyone who could help us. A nice young woman actually jumped down inside the gutter that was about 5 feet deep. My daughter started asking anyone she saw if they had a net, and someone actually did and let us borrow it. Together we proceeded to save each duckling. There were eight. Once finished, we walked back in the Shake Shack to get a bag to take our food home to heat up. Not one word from the manager, nothing. I think this would be a good opportunity for the leaders of Shake Shack to teach empathy and compassion to their employees. It wasn't that the manager was rude, she just came across as not caring. The least she could've done is when she saw me at the counter is to come up and ask about the ducks. But nothing.

I would say the fry sauce is something that deserves an entirely separate paragraph No exaggeration, the fry sauce here is the best fry sauce I have ever tasted. It is made with a ton of different ingredients besides what you usually find in fry sauce (mayo, ketchup, some seasoning). This is built on an entirely different level of flavor. I was able to speak to some of the employees the first time I came by because I had so many questions about this fry sauce. Out of respect for them and not wanting to expose any ingredients, I suggest you ask them what's in it! Fry sauce is an 11/10 The environment is wonderful, outdoor seating with some super pretty views of the mountains. The shakes here are fantastic but the photo is actually a lemon limeade slushie which was incredible. Very tart but not overwhelming, it paired great with this burger which is plenty savory. We will definitely be coming back a 3rd time! The reason for the 3 stars and not 4 or 5 is due to the burger being weaker in my opinion. I felt the star of the show was the fry sauce and the burger felt secondary.
