My second time going to this store. First time in this location. We were not able to gym that morning cause we were late for class. So we ended up just going to the store. I grabbed stuff to send for my mom back home and my bf grabbed some lights for their tree. Selections is this store is so vast. I couldn't say it's a high quality but it's pretty reasonable. You get great deals with so much selections. It was perfect since they have sales this time that we didn't even know about. They have a lot of cashiers open to help out but the lines are pretty slow. Wow, talk about a misleading store name! I went to Christmas Tree Shop thinking that I'd find a store full of Christmas stuff. There are no Christmas things here -- at least not now, in the spring when I'm writing this review. So, don't come here thinking you'll find ornaments or other Christmas paraphernalia, because it ain't gonna happen. What you will find is a store that is very similar to Hobby Lobby and Home Goods. Lots of knickknacks and home accoutrements. There is also a section with food and medicines, like a drug store. It's a store with just a bunch of stuff. I totally wish there was like... a place called the Christmas Tree Shop in Cali... ugh... like, NO FAIR! They have a super huge store... with like, super cheap stuff.. that's like, easy to shop for... and like, not necessarily a X-mas theme item... like totally STOKED! What kind of "Christmas Tree Shop" doesn't sell tinsel, and is more another Walmart than a shop for Christmas Tree items? There was one section of clearly "discount" Christmas tree supplies, and then the rest of the store is what looks like a cheaper Target. Even the decorating options available were cheap and tacky. Went in trying to get tinsel, a nice tree topper, and a tree skirt, and was horribly disappointed in the lack of options, and the cheap quality of the options that even were there. In general, I love the Christmas Tree Shop. Who doesn't like good stuff for cheap? But the problem with the chain in general is that it's browsing hell. I'm going to sound sexist and ageist, but the middle-aged women that shop here are the slowest moving creatures I've ever seen. They move glacially, in some sort of daze, as if suspended in time. That, or they are in a race with a tortoise and letting him win. Suffice to say, I didn't know the human body could move so slowly. I've also observed that a trip to the Christmas Tree Shop for them is like visiting some kind of crap museum. They linger over each item, carefully examining it, and ultimately, it goes in the cart or it gets put back. This is behavior I don't actually understand. The color and pattern of that vase (you know, the one that was in some nonexistent catalog for twice the price) isn't going to change if you stare at it for an hour. It was ugly when you picked it up, it will be ugly five minutes from now. Usually, I couldn't care less, it's a free country. But lately the Lynnfield store's thrown in an added challenge: they've cluttered the egress so much that you absolutely cannot get around people. Yesterday I got trapped in this labrynth of bin displays that caused total traffic jam. Me and the 10 other people stuck in place just looked around at each other, blinking, wondering how we'd get out of the gridlock. It turned out to be all caused by one woman (with a very, very large behind) inspecting a ten dollar throw rug. The store wasn't really altogether busy, usually it takes 15 minutes in line to check out, I was out in five. I give two stars not because I think the Christmas Tree Shop sucks or anything. Quite the contrary, it's usually a pretty good shopping experience to get the stuff I need or didn't know I needed, but Lynnfield either needs to put on an addition or manage their inventory better (hint: fewer rummage bins). If this place goes up in flames, you're looking at something akin to Cocoanut Grove, Triangle Factory or Station Nightclub. So please Mr. (or Ms.) store manager, protect our moms and grandmoms from this terrible fate and organize the store!. read more

Want some throw-away beach items for your upcoming vacation? They're in the back corner. You can find just about anything you need to furnish your dorm or first apartment here. They have a wide variety of items that will do the trick for almost anything. Sometimes the quality is a bit sketchy, but you do get what you pay for. Beware the parking lot. OH MY GOD THIS STORE SELLS ITEMS FROM CHINA! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY! BLASPHEMY! Everybody knows that the Christmas Tree Shops, with their local roots (hey there, Cape Cod), is single-handedly ruining the U.S. economy. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act be damned. Yes, their product sourcing is so directly connected to China, they might as well dig a hole straight through the Earth to save on transit time. And you know what else? They treat their employees like crap! Not like Walmart (who wagers on people's lives by taking out life insurance policies as the sole beneficiaries of their ailing and terminally ill employees, boo-hoo) Ikea or Target. Or that mom-and-pop shop that is cutting corners left and right to stay afloat, including employee hours and pay. The Christmas Tree Shop is downright sinister. But for the folks who can overlook the utterly evil side of this store, CTS deserves some serious consideration. Ikea, you see, sucks. Simply sucks. With a capital Blows. And Walmart and Target are Walmart and Target. But CTS floats under the radar; the underdog! I went here for the first time in approximately my life and I found this store to have everything I've ever wanted. And it all cost somewhere between 12 cents and a dollar. I love this one, the style is so cute..the lighthouse attached to the ship! I am sure that the prices and most products are the same at all CTS, so i am going to say that I love the crap and prices. I have never left empty handed. So, last trip(s) i got some halloween junk 90% off, paid no more than 20 cents for a lot of stuff. I also got some apple peelers for half price and some toys for kids. They have a ton of seasonal junk, usually for cheap, a lot of dinnerware including Pfaltzgraff! There is so much stuff in this store that needs to be seen, accents, food, toys...you name it, and its in your next gift basket. read more

The Christmas Tree Shop is not a store, it's an experience. The shops down on the Cape don't seem to be packed with the bargain hunting maniacs that the Lynnfield store seems to attract. Yet, I am undeterred. It can't be beat for cheap party supplies, gift wrap and other decorating odds and ends, but be prepared for crowds in the land of cheap & disposable. If you need about 200 tea lights for 3 bucks, super cheap gift bags, beachy home decor made in China, then this is the place to go. It's a great resource for baby showers and bridal showers & holiday gift basket supplies. If you have not an ounce of patience when it comes to dealing with self-absorbed shoppers go late on Sunday... they're open until 8 or 9... or first thing when they open in the morning and you won't have to buy a duffel bag for $3.99 to hide the shoppers you killed. read more

So unbelievable as it may seem after living in the area for most of my life, I haven't been to a Christmas Tree Shop and was driven to change that. This place was a mixed bag in my eyes. I like the way the place is set up, the prices vary from extremely cheap to expensive in regards to other places i've been. I thought my mother, who is a penny pincher, would love this place but after looking around for twenty minutes, she told me things were quite expensive here. I personally like the place because there's a lot of trinkets you can get. I like the holiday themed merchandise they have here. I dislike that the older patrons that shop here feel the need to hold their purses closer to them when I walk by but that's not the stores fault. There is plenty of parking on the side and there are always a good number of registers open so it can be an in and out experience if you know what you want. read more

Reminds me of Dollar store, but it's a little better selection. The best part is that everything is seasonal so you can pretty much get what you need for any decorating or party stuff. The next best part is that you can take your wife or GF and let them spend hours in there and come out only spending short money... I'm used to totals in the $300-$00 range for the amount of things we got, but it only came out to $102 and some change... That's money in the bank kid! read more

There's no better place to buy a bunch of cheap crap you don't need! Actually, I did buy a lot of stuff there when I moved into my first apartment, so I suppose I owe CTS a bit of respect. But, I find it hard to get past how crowded and crazy it gets in there. It's so hard to maneuver the plastic green carts through aisles packed with woman who just love a bargain and 3 foot statues of pigs wearing chef hats and aprons . But I have to admit, it's the perfect place to find inexpensive and simple ideas for party decorations, candles, and obscure DVD's of television shows from the 50's. read more

Very good customer service! I wanted this teal accent table that I saw on display. I couldn't find it on the shelf to buy. An associate, Noelia, noticed me and asked if there was something I needed. It's not that bad of a place. I mean, you can sometimes get some items that you never see or you haven't tried in a while. People here complain how the people that come here move slow. Well, it all depends on when you go. If you go on a weekend you might not be successful. Try Tuesdays or Wednesdays. I don't go here everyday, only about once every 3 months. read more

When living in the Boston area, this was one of my favorite stores to visit about 4 times a year - usually when the seasons changed. I could always pick up some seasonal items, party stuff and odds and ends that I didn't even know I needed. As mentioned by many others, much of the merchandise is cheaply made, but there are plenty of legitimate bargains there too, and it was always fun to poke around until you found them. Now we live in California, and here is the reason for the one star. Christmas Tree does ship to California!!! I get emails every day about their vast array of merchandise and awesome deals and can't order them! Can anyone explain the reason for this?! read more

This review is for a purchase I did back in June but it took me forever to write because I was so busy planning my wedding . But I had to write this review... This has been the best experience I ever had , I was so stressed and tired from running from one Christmas tree to another and Every other craft store that I was trying to find vases to use them as centerpieces for the wedding. Every other store after I asked at the information desk told me to go and check the other stores; the Christmas tree in Framingham told me to search in Google to find the other Christmas tree phone number . When I got here and I went to the information desk the manager on duty that day Karen started helping me. I told her I called earlier to check if they had the vases I was looking for and she called Kevin and Amanda that were working one in the floor and the other at the customers desk to search the floor and call other stores. They all gave me so much attention, asking me for the wedding - how my preparations were going, Karen was telling me not to worry about that they will find them and than Amanda called different locations and she found them at the Christmas tree in Vermont and found that they had enough and she ordered them as the stores needed them so I didn't even have to pay for the shipping. They got all my info and the day the cases got there they called me to let me know. I went to pick them up and again everybody was helping. The cashier that cashed me out her name is Silva she was great too. She made sure she took her time wrapping all the vases (17 of them and they were 24" tall) so they wouldn't brake. I am so glad I went and checked this store out and even though I live a bit far from there I would rather take the ride and get the attention they give to their guests there. Great job! Parking lot was crazy, kind of like playing frogger going to and from the store. I was a Christmas Tree Shops virgin prior to this trip, so I was pleasantly surprised to find more than just stockings and ornaments. In addition to holiday decor, there were a variety of everyday items for the entire home. Curtains, pizza cutters, plants, etc. We'll definitely stop back in when we're in the area. read more

Went on a rainy Wednesday night, not too many people there. Just moved to a new place and needed some basic stuff. Microwave safe plates and bowls less than a dollar a piece, stainless steel spatula and spoon less than 4 dollars a piece, shower curtain, fold table and chair (weird size I didn't think i'd find: ~2' by ~4'. Cool stemless wine glasses, 15 dollar calphalon non stick hard anodized pan... Gigantic isles of personal care stuff. The only thing I couldn't find were like knives and forks that weren't 10-20 pieces per box. Regardless of the fact, I got everything mentioned plus a couple other stuff for about 100 dollars, give or take 5 bux. After spending 75 dollars at walmart for a couple things the other day, I couldn't believe it. Will definitely be returning, especially with the trader joes near by. read more

I recently purchased curtains from the Avon, MA location while visitng the area. After I got home I realized I was one panel short. I called the Lynnfield store (which is much closer to home) to ask if they had it in stock and recieved the worst customer service. After being on hold for almost 20 minutes and transferred to three different people, I decided to hang up and call back hoping for better results. When I finally reached someone she was rude, impatient, and told me she couldn't help me because I only had the UPC number from my reciept, not the SKU number from the box. Complete waste of time trying to call ahead. Instead I'll be fighting traffic and wasting gas money to most likely find out they don't carry the same product. They could use some common courtesy in that location. read more
