I hate to write a bad review however I am extremely disappointed with the service of this place. Our tree was supposed to be delivered between 12 - 3...we finally received the tree at 8:30 pm. I understand being a little behind schedule however this was unacceptable. What made the delay worse was that there was no effort from Christmas Tree Brooklyn to communicate they were seriously behind schedule. I had called several times to get an ETA on delivery and either got the answering machine, was disconnected, or was told that the tree was on the next truck out. When the tree finally arrived it looked much smaller than what we were anticipating. Let's just hope it lasts through Christmas! 3.5 stars! Our tree was due to me delivered by 9pm and I had to call at 9:30 when it hadn't arrive. The person at the office said it was on its was but couldn't give me an exact time so I had to reschedule for the next day. Totally understand they were busy I would have just appreciated better communication that they couldn't make my schedules timeframe. As for the tree - it was super super dry from the start. I'm hoping this was only mine? I was extremely diligent with watering but simply touching branches would cause a wave of needles to fall leading me to vacuum every other day. I am so upset. I researched and decided to get my tree from here this year. I made the transaction online on 11/18 for a delivery of 11/23 between 6PM and 9PM. Unfortunately, I was sick so around 12PM I called to reschedule for next day 11/24 same times. All good. Yesterday I waited until 8:30PM and gave them call. No one knew about my reschedule. Then the person on the phone told me that they tried to call me multiple times, not true. Ok. I rescheduled for today between 12PM and 3PM, and around 12:30PM I got a missed call about how they are trying to reschedule! I am so confused. I have called back and email and still don't know if my tree is coming or not. Do they change orders and keep track? If I don't get my tree, I guess I'll ask for a refund. I had used Christmas Tree Brooklyn previously and they did a good job. This year they delivered me a tree that was a foot shorted than ordered, were two days late on the agreed delivery time and gave me a tree that was so dry it shed an entire dust pan of needles daily for the three days we had it in the house. I attempted to resolve the issue with Dan - even volunteering to pay the difference to get a taller tree even though the size I ordered would have been perfect and he insisted I needed to pay for him to remove the tree he had delivered. Ultimately I tossed the tree outside as it was a fire hazard and ordered a new one from the local market. I would not recommend anyone use this operation. read more

Maybe you'll get your tree, maybe you won't. I ordered my tree online on a Wednesday, and scheduled my delivery for Saturday night between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. Saturday night. At 10:00 p.m., I had no tree. By 11:30, I had left three voicemails for the company, two emails and a message to their Facebook page - I heard nothing. No communication from the company to say they were running late or that I wouldn't be getting my tree at all. I called them at 8:30 this morning to ask where my tree was, why my messages hadn't been returned - they had no answers. One of the owners very vaguely said that they got backed up and they couldn't make my delivery last night because it was too late. Did anyone think to call and tell me this? No. Instead I have a six-year-old that was expecting to wake up to a tree to decorate this morning and we have none. Additionally, when I said that they would need to deliver my tree today since they couldn't make it the previous night, they said they wouldn't be able to! So I paid for a tree and now they've decided they won't be delivering it because of "logistics." I was told that I was sent an email from one of the owners last night around 11:30, which I did not receive. (If someone was able to send an email to me at 11:30 last night, they certainly should have been able to pick up the phone and call me to tell me they would not be delivering the tree I paid for.) The owner then forwarded me the email he said he sent me the previous night, and said that he'll "get around to" refunding my money. What this small, "family owned" business evidently hasn't figured out is that Christmas is a wedding - you get one shot to get it right. People wait all year for this holiday and the traditions surrounding it, to make memories with their families. Some of us have a very limited opportunity to do that, and when you pay for a service/product with a company and they don't deliver, it is unacceptable business practice - and a huge letdown for those of us on the receiving end of their poor level of service. As a business owner, you can't randomly decide that someone won't be getting what they paid for, especially with zero communication about what is going on. Now I'll have to go to someplace like Home Depot, which I was really trying to avoid because I wanted to support a local business - but at least they will stand behind their product and services. I see from some of the other reviews that the owners have gone out of their way to rectify poor service on the part of their company - I guess I'm just not one of those lucky ones. 12/2018: Second year ordering a Christmas tree from these people. I don't write reviews (this is my first). Both years, the trees have come in the allotted window/time frame, the delivery guys have been helpful and kind, the trees both beautiful and healthy with fresh cut trunks prior to delivery. In my apartment I keep my tree away from heat or forced air systems and the tree stay fresh through to early January. I get a tree each year for a big party and this is stress-free, and quality service. I am very pleased. This year I had some trouble communicating with the company - couldn't reach a human being to ask a question (unlike last year), but the end result was fine and every thing worked out. read more

I was regularly checking the water, and noticed it never went down, which had me a little anxious to start. With 11 days to go until Christmas I contacted Christmas Tree Brooklyn about my dead tree. Within 20 minutes I got a response back from them apologizing and offering to deliver me a new tree! They did not call me to inform me that there was some problem with the delivery. They seem overwhelmed and unprepared for the number of orders they've received. My experiences with Christmas Tree Brooklyn over several years have been great. Trees have been beautiful and exactly as ordered and the teams that delivered them and handled scheduling were all awesome. I appreciated that the team that picked up my tree contained it in giant plastic bags when they took it out of my apartment so I didn't have to do any cleanup in the halls and stairs of my walkup (something I'm embarrassed to say I never thought to do on my own in years past). I had to change both my drop off and pickup times and both were accommodated with no problem, and happened right on time at the beginning of the three-hour window I chose. I got immediate responses by contacting the business through Facebook messenger -- definitely recommend that over the email support function on the website, where I didn't get a response. I'd never manage to get this kind of tree into my place so seamlessly, and they make it simple and easy to have a full Christmas experience with no stress and no self-inflicted back injury from hauling a tree home and up the stairs myself. I ordered my tree on Saturday night and scheduled delivery for the next afternoon in Park Slope. The guy who came to deliver it - a 7' tree that had to be carried up two incredibly steep and rickety flights of stairs - was wonderful, polite and friendly. He carried it up quickly and was on his way.... and I now have a beautiful, healthy tree decorated and ready for the season. I can't recommend them enough - this made things so much easier! They missed the three hour delivery window provided by their web site and didn't call till an hour after I left a voice mail. Something about a driver who didn't show up, and no reasons given to my polite but direction question as to why they couldn't have notified the affected customers. They offered to come over in a half hour - I offered to agree with a discount for having rearranged my schedule. No dice. A very Grinch customer service experience. I'm sure they've had better days but my advice would be to stick with the guy around the corner where you can pick your own tree and you're not up to the mercy of seasonal web sites (or drivers) that take your money up front and don't bother showing up.... read more

My husband and I bought our tree two weeks ago from their outpost at Underhill Ave in Prospect Heights. It is definitely the freshest tree we've ever had. Has barely dropped a needle since we brought it home, and the branches/needles still feel soft to the touch. Highly recommend! read more

Ordered my tree delivered between 12 and 3 pm today. At 2:45 I had heard nothing from them so I called to check the status and spoke to Christina. I was told the driver was running behind. I said, I have to leave my house by 4 pm, so will he be here in time to be done by then? She said, no, he has two more deliveries before you and he's coming from Manhattan, so he probably won't even arrive until after 4 pm. While Christina was polite and not overtly rude on the phone, I was frustrated by the fact that I was given no apology, no explanation for the fact that they were going to be over an hour late, and no suggestions for what I should do (other than cancel my plans, which was not an option.) I said: What do you suggest? And we eventually rescheduled the delivery for the following day. I'm sure this is a busy weekend for them. But I don't understand why I had to be the one to solicit a fix for this problem, instead of her apologizing to me and offering a solution. I wouldn't have even learned that they were going to be so late if I hadn't called. I don't understand this attitude toward customer service. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! I ordered a tree from here which was supposed to arrive on November 30th between 12 and 3. We called and called when the tree did not arrive, and finally reached someone who said the tree would arrive between 6 and 8 pm. Of course, 8 o'clock came, and no tree. After many more calls on Monday, to no response, someone finally said they would come between 6 and 9 that night. The delivery man showed up around 9 with a 5'7" tree (I ordered a 6'). I kindly said I didn't want the tree, and it was returned to the company for them to resell. Because of all the time wasted in waiting for the tree to come, I couldn't fathom waiting for them to bring me another tree! I asked for a refund, and ordered a tree from another company (which came right away and is gorgeous). I was refused a refund which is very odd since I never accepted their tree, and they can still resell it! I should at least have gotten a partial refund! read more

We used Christmas Tree Brooklyn last year and had an amazing experience. It was a beautiful tree and lasted through New Years. This year, however, our tree was dead on arrival. When purchasing they claimed they couldn't cut open the tree because "they didn't have the machine to re-net it." Given our previous experience with them, we let that slide. Upon delivery the tree was straight up dead and brown in places and losing needles like crazy. We reached out to customer service immediately and 3 days later it has deteriorated to the point that we're buying a new tree (and we've still yet to hear back from the company). We ordered from CTB for the first time this year - the first time we've ever ordered online ever - and we won't be doing it again. The first tree arrived (the delivery/set-up person was very nice) and it immediately started shedding needles. A LOT OF NEEDLES. Like, it was literally noisy - that's how many needles were consistently dropping to the floor. Okay, no problem, they have a guarantee. They agreed to bring us a replacement and showed up right on time (another nice delivery/set-up person) and the same thing happened. We quickly had a pretty bald, sparse tree - not only did needles fall but small branches went with them. Unfortunately, and to be fair to CTB, we didn't have the time to wait for yet another tree, so we threw it out and bought a new one from a different vendor and this tree is perfect. CTB wouldn't refund us the money because we threw out their tree. Fair enough, but a complete waste of over $100 for us. So... they are on time and have great delivery people and customer service when you email them, but just be aware that getting a tree that survives the day could be a time-consuming, frustrating experience. read more

I am so disappointed in the actual tree, and so is my child. The delivery was great, but that does not do much toward making up for a dry, browning tree. I requested a new tree on the day I received it and wrote a review (requested by the company) doing the same, but no response. Got the tree last week, and it was immediately shedding brown needles. The top of the trunk (where the topper goes) was also broken off. Christmas is still two weeks away, and this tree is in worse shape than the one we dragged out to the sidewalk after a month last Christmas, and it has been watered twice a day for the week I have had it. The bottom branches are dry and brown after a week; last year's tree was perfectly green at New Year's. The price was good, but so not worth my child being denied a nice tree. He expressed such disappointment, which is a sad way to start the holiday season. Next year I will spend a little more to be sure I'm getting a tree that is not dead and dry from day one! read more
