I ordered a sampler "kit" specifically marketed for beginners. The kit contained everything…read moreadvertised. However, it took several weeks and an email to the company to receive my product. Because I also received a free downloadable document as part of my order, they charged me immediately (partially delivered). The canvas was exactly as it appeared online but as a beginner I didn't understand that the partially painted sections would make it more difficult to follow the pattern. Likewise, the painted portions present at least 2 colors and only one color of fiber is included. The instruction booklet is not detailed enough for an absolute beginner. Was this kit accurately presented? Yes. Is this kit a good value? Absolutely not! I expected to sit down with it and learn to needlepoint. Before I can do so I need to complete the painting, buy at least one more color fiber, and find additional tutorials online. VERY disappointed!! (2 stars because the response to my email was very quick.)

No one said a word to me and they went immediately back to their conversation. I waited at the door for a bit for anyone to offer to help me find my yarn or explain the layout of the shop. No one did. So I walked past the women to the back of the shop to prowl the shelves, digging in my tote for my notes. That's when I heard one woman say to another that they should keep an eye on me since I could put anything in my bag. What a horrible group of women! Yes, they had lovely yarn. However I wouldn't spend a penny in that shop. Its run by a bunch of nasty, lazy, bigoted bitches who won't help but will made snide comments. Shop anywhere else.

My best friend had arrived earlier and saved us seats close to the instructor, which made the experience even better. The owner was so patient, kind, and attentive throughout the class. Inside is like any other Barnes & Noble location; it's bright, clean, easy to navigate, and there are areas to sit and read. There were lots of sections that had books on sale for 1/2 off as well as non-book items for a discount. However, this store is probably the smallest I've been to which results in less options. What dropped my rating to 3 stars is my biggest pet peeve I've never seen in any new book store until my most recent visit...authors were not in alphabetical order! I was looking for Dean Koontz in particular, an author that is often compared to Stephen King. There were lots of Stephen King soft and hardcovers, however, I couldn't find a single Dean Koontz novel. Not only that, but the horror section had Stephen King both on top and bottom shelves as well as other authors that were mixed in but weren't letters "j" or "l", causing some chaos with finding authors. My husband didn't notice until I pointed it out and he too, thought that was strange. I did buy a pack of fun pens for $5.25 while I was there which was half off, not a bad deal for a novelty item! The cashier was friendly, it was a short interaction for a pack of pens so not much else was needed beyond that. I don't think my OCD will allow my mind to want to come back, though. I can't get past the books not being in alphabetical order by author's names, which is crazy for a Barnes & Noble.
