Before they would see my newborn daughter for a pretty important visit, they required payment. The payment was 50% more than what Texas Children's charges so I asked to be able to speak with our insurance and verify the charges/review the EOB. They refused and canceled her appointment while we were there in the waiting room. We had to scramble and schedule with THC ASAP because she needed to be seen for a weight concern. I asked to speak with the clinic manager about this but he refused to see me. I called later that day and asked to speak with him and I was told he would call me back the following day. He never did. It is unreasonable to charge a seemingly arbitrary amount of money which is much higher than other clinics and not allow the patient to verify the EOB at least one time. And then refuse to speak to me about it and cancel our appointment as we wait to speak to management. They should have allowed me to have my daughter seen as it was an important appointment and then allowed me to call insurance to verify before paying. Terrible customer service and treatment of patients. It was pretty appalling. And now they did not get paid for that appointment anyway and will not get our business in the future, so they were unreasonable for nothing.

Perhaps on the health care side, she's a great doctor, but in every other aspect - eh - not so much. Appointments with her need to be scheduled months in advance, so you better know ahead of time when you're going to be sick. And from my very first appointment with her to every appointment after, I was made to wait in the exam room sans clothing for no fewer than 45 minutes, even longer than an hour. At my last visit, she recommended a cancer screen - ok, well gotta do that, right? Don't want to take a chance and DIE, do I? So I go in and get charged $450 dollars. WHAT? I have insurance that covers these types of procedures. Why am I being charged? Well, because she coded it as a medical need. If she coded the procedure differently, I still would have had the procedure, she would have gotten paid, and I wouldn't have been charged. It's a win-win party! What's the problem, here? I disputed this situation three times, and each time, Dr. Baker refused to change the code. While Dr. Baker may be sensitive to patients' health care needs, she is completely insensitive patients' comfort and other needs (like money and the ability to pay bills), she lacks all consideration for patients as people. I am seriously disillusioned and will never return to her.

But they don't like the feed back on my 2nd review. That just shows my point, they have no conflict management skills. Just make a better effort to communicate better. And I would have gladly updated once I experienced an improvement. This has never happened to me, but I have already found another PCP and didn't plan on going back. Growth is inevitable, whether they took this opportunity to provide better service in this instance or not. It will happen again to another patient. They can stay comfortable, kicking ppl out that are dissatisfied. But that not how you run an effective business or grow. Whoever is in charge should know this.

He prescribed me azythromycin and recommended Robitussin DM and a couple other things. I haven't finished the azythromycin yet, but I was feeling better in only a few days. My mucus switched back from green to clear in no time. I can sleep again. I'm grateful to Dr. Manuel. On my first visit, he spent much more time with me than any other doctor ever has. He got a clear picture of my family's medical history, from which we discussed my possible risks. He followed up with an emailed order for blood work, and which we had also discussed during the visit. He displayed a genuine concern for my overall well-being. I look forward to him being my physician for years and years to come.
