I also like being able to drive to the clinic and only have to walk 5 steps and I'm inside the clinic. He first suggested an ultrasound to rule out the gall bladder and if that came back normal he said the best thing would be an endoscopy (I was already on medicine before coming to him and that was not working very effectively). After my ultrasound came back normal he suggested an endoscopy to make sure what we were dealing with was not anything too serious that should be taken care of quickly. I liked that he took this approach instead of suggesting tests back and forth. I was very nervous for the endoscopy( I've never been under anesthesia) but he explained that there would be nurses in the room as well as the anesthesiologist monitoring me throughout the whole procedure and that the procedure its self is not very long he said 30 minutes tops. The day of my endoscopy he performed it at memorial hermann and he was right I fell asleep and woke up fine. No sore throat, no pain, I was actually surprised I felt so normal immediately after the procedure! He told me what I had and thankfully it was not anything too serious, but he was just going to wait on confirmation from the lab. I had the procedure done on a Friday and the results were back by Tuesday!!! Dr Arkus in my opinion has been very helpful and very efficient he will take the time to answer any questions you might have and will make explain things and what can be done about them. Still taking my antibiotics for stomach infection but I am glad I went through this procedure and am getting treated so soon !

Today was the final straw. My appointment was scheduled for 11:15 AM on my end, but apparently it was entered into their system as 11:25 AM. It is now 12:25 PM and I'm still sitting in the waiting room. The most concerning part is there are approximately 10 patients ahead of me with scheduled appointments as well. This is only the lobby wait time and does not include the additional time I'll likely spend waiting once I'm taken back. This level of overbooking and scheduling is unreasonable and completely disrupts work schedules and the rest of the day for patients. People take time off work and arrange their days around appointments, and repeatedly sitting for 1-2+ hours past your scheduled time is unacceptable. I've also had recurring issues with prescription accuracy and communication. There always seems to be confusion regarding medications or dosage instructions that are relayed to staff, causing issues at the pharmacy afterward. I pay out of pocket for my visits, medications, and labs, so these appointments are not inexpensive. I've also experienced confusion regarding testing recommendations. One test initially presented to me was over $1,000 before later being changed to a much less expensive blood and urine alternative around $80. The doctor himself may be knowledgeable, but the scheduling process, communication, and overall patient experience have been extremely frustrating.

When I called to ask about it, the receptionist suggested I come all the way back to the clinic to request this from Dr. Lim! Are you kidding me?? Then she agreed to ask Dr. Lim, and after days of waiting, I received the update that Dr. Lim did not order it as it was not part of a regular annual checkup (despite that there is justification due to the medical history???), and I can come back for a follow up to have it ordered. I asked if there was any record of her being there and she said yes but she needs a well visit since she never had one in order to get the vaccine. So if she's had no well visits, how has she been seen before? Their next well visit appointment is after school registration so we'll be going somewhere else and I'll start her with a GP elsewhere. I'm very concerned they lost her records.
