My son has been a patient for Dr Durayappah for over 15 years. His
history is Hydrocephalus(water on the brain) for which he has had 11
brain operations, he is Asthmatic, and suffers from biopolar disorder.
Over the years she has treated my son for various conditions as his
primary care doctor, she knows him very well.On friday 1/19/2018 He
went to the dentist in extreme pain
he had an exam and was advised
to have surgury to remove the teeth
but because of his past medical issues, they needed his Doctor to sign a medical release.
I went to the Doctor's office trying to get this release signed, it was late on friday and her office did tell me
she was with her last patient, but I
came with the paperwork, hoping
that in an emergency situation, she would take the extra 10 minutes so
that he could have the surgury Saturday morning. Instead she refused to see him, allowing him to
remain in pain for the whole weekend, told him to come back on Monday for her to sign the release.
I understand that it was 4:30 when
we arrived and they close at 5, what
I don't understand is A doctor who
has treated my son for over 15 years
would prevent him from having emergency surgury and remain in
pain for the weekend, because it was close to quitting time. I am very
saddended and disappointed that she did not have enough emphathy
for her patient in distress and pain.
I did not know the dentist would ask
for this, or I would have arranged to have her fill it out sooner, it was an EMERGENCY situation.
I will find another doctor who I pray will have more human compassion
for her patients, in some cases rules
could be broken, I believe this was one of those times. read more
