BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO VISIT, I STRONGLY SUGGEST READING THIS REVIEW. I used to be a regular client, but I won't be returning, and I want to explain why. On their website, they advertise lash extensions, but there's a section called "Master Lash Artists" where they highlight three technicians, stating you have to pay extra to book them. When it comes to beauty services like lash extensions, I prioritize quality above all else. It's concerning that you have to pay more for supposedly superior service, especially since this is a new policy. To me, paying extra to get a top-rated master technician doesn't make sense, especially when there are technicians who work there but aren't considered masters, yet the prices on the website don't change. You pay the same amount for each type of lash extensions you get, regardless of whether it's a master or another technician. I decided that I wanted to book with Christine, who was listed as the top option with the highest additional fee. However, when I called Christine's studio, I discovered she only does eyebrows, not lashes. This inconsistency between the website and reality is off-putting. I'm hesitant to try another lash technician because a friend had a terrible experience with someone outside of our usual technician. The glue got into her eye, the lashes looked bad, and some even fell off. It was a mess, but we continued with our regular technician until she left. Now that our regular technician left and this updated policy, I just feel that it's time to part ways with Christine Lash Studio. I've had my lashes done several times before so I am pretty familiar with what I like but decided to buy the Groupon for 120 this time to try out a bit more. I was instantly turned off as the lash tech kept stopping and had her phone by my ear on the bed and it wouldn't stop vibrating. I literally had to ask her to please stop using her phone and to move it away from me. If I shut the vibration off on my own phone I don't think I would want to hear anyone else phone vibrating on my ear. I was done in an hour, this definitely isn't 120 lashes per eye nor do I see any lashes in the corners like the "cute" style shows. The place is definitely cute, organized and well kept. Here am i not even a week later (got them done Friday) and had to schedule a lash appointment for this Thursday at another place. My right eye has almost no lashes left. Christine also sends out her waiver forms via email which is a plus, no one likes filling out paperwork when arriving and it makes the overall experience expedited. I saw Christine Lash Studio's Groupon for $22 after the discount from the original price of $85 (the Groupon is now $39 because it is now off $160) for a set of 80 mink lashes (40 per eye) and decided to try it now. The location is in an apartment like building in Manhattan on the fourth floor. It is a Korean ran studio. The interior of Christine's Lash Studio was aesthetically pleasing and welcoming. I visited on a Thursday afternoon. I made an appointment at 2, but they told me it was actually at 12. I showed them the text message that I sent to make an appointment and they said they would be able to accommodate me. There were about 3 other people there when I entered. When I left there were even more. They gave me a page that showed the lengths and styles to choose from. The Korean lady that did my lashes was kind and patient as I kept blinking. The lady changed the sheet of where my foot was and they put my bag in a box. It was an easy 30-minute procedure and it was comfortable. I sat for about 30 minutes with my headphones on listening to music and time fly. My lashes looked luxurious and nice after. A couple of the lashes feel off within 24 hours, but they still looked nice. My experience was positive, however, my eyes were irritated after 3 or 4 days of having my eyelash extensions in even though I took care of them. I feel like something kept scratching me each time I blinked and wanted them off. None the less, they looked amazing and are pretty affordable. However, the refill prices are almost the same price of a new set. A new set is 59$ and a refill after 3 weeks is $55, so if you were to get refills after at the third week, it'd be better to get a new set. There is a removal fee of previous lashes for $20. Tl;dr - nice eyelashes, really fast and they look cute. A few fell off within 24hrs but they still looked nice. Another quick update. The last full set I got was size 12 and they fell off relatively quick. I realized that it was probably because my lashes aren't able to support the weight/length of that size. I recently got another refill but asked to get 10/11 instead since that's what I usually got before. It's only been a few days but they're holding up A LOT better than the size 12 I got prior. It didn't take her too long to do a complete set on me and the lashes look great. It's about six days later as I'm writing this and I've lost very little lashes. By far the worst lashes extensions I've ever had. Got it done on May 3rd and by May 6th, lashes were falling off drastically. The adhesive is crappy and it burns. I have never experienced a burning sensation ever elsewhere before. I did also notice other women sitting with mini pocket fans blowing on their faces. I guess due to the burn. I followed the rules, which are to not wash your face for 24 hours. Overall experience, the ladies are pleasant, and Christine is very sweet, smart and nice. Unfortunately, everyone else around her is trying to hustle you different prices, and are very happy if you don't use Groupon. Sure, the prices are cheaper but you get what you pay for, and end up paying more for it in the long run. FYI: Elle performed my lash extension. Update in response to comment: Apologies to Christine Lash Studio, I left their establishment on such a high note, and my experiences after leaving prompted me to write this review. She is right, the number of lashes was clearly discussed beforehand. I liked what I had before, I came in because they were just getting sparse. And I was recommended the luxury volume. But personally, $24 for 40 pieces/eye vs. $45 for 50 pieces/eye was a no brainer. Why would I pay double for luxury volume for only 10 more lashes? (Gotta read btwn the lines, bc Groupon advertises 80 vs 100 pieces without specifying whether its per eye or total). And I was advised that it would not look good to mix my already individual lashes with 3D lashes, so russian volume was out of the question. My gripe was that even if I had added only 40 lashes/eye, it should have looked more full than what I walked in with. My friends agreed that it looked less full, but this is a subjective statement I suppose. It could've been the length of the lashes, or the curl of the lashes, or the thickness of the lashes they use here. So many variables. I lost 12 lashes in a little over 24 hours. [Picture of fallen lashes attached]. If you also zoom in, not all the fake lashes fell out w my real lashes, so this is not natural. And tis also strange that most of the lashes fell out of my right eye and I look totally sparse and asymmetrical now. Bacteria are everywhere, and to be fair, the place did not look dirty and I did smell hand sanitizer at one point while my eyes were closed. This is TMI, but I took a shower the night before + morning of (bc I knew the lashes couldn't touch water for 24 hrs), rarely ever get pink eye, and no contact with another person with conjunctivitis. The only variable was that I got my lashes done, and got an eye infection the same day. I will refrain from scaring you guys w my eye infection photos. Five days later I have finally recovered. I got the Russian full set and I really loved the way my lashes came out in the beginning. The place was very nice. But after 4 -5 days all my false lashes fell off. Little by little. I was left with no false lashes left. These are lashes that are suppose to last about 1-2 weeks with 70% of the false lashes still on and I know you are required to go in at at least every 2 weeks for a fill in. I have had lashes done before and never has this happened. I tried calling to see if they can help and hopefully fix the issue. They suggested I go back to see if they can fix the problem. But it seemed as they wanted to charge me for a brand new set which I don't think it's fair. I've been getting lash extensions for years now and this is by far the worse place I've been to. I was hoping it's a hidden gem because it's literally one block away from my work place. So it looked like I didn't even have lashes there which I do. I contacted them and they took forever to answer back but they were apologetic. I understand that it was a busy week for them because I'm sure a lot of ladies would want them done for Valentine's Day and lunar new year. Every single day lashes fell out like crazy. And I noticed that it was extremely poor application Some of the lashes were attached to the middle of my natural lash when it's supposed to be close to the lash line. It was in clumps as if she attached more than one lash to my lash. It's supposed to be one extension lash attracted to one real lash but that's not the case. I was going to reschedule to fix the inner and outer corners, but I don't think I will anymore because of the poor application. I do not want to ruin my natural lash because of this. Wasted money, thankfully only a Groupon. The staff was friendly, but less than two days later, many of the lashes on my left eye had fallen off and the lack of balance was quite obvious. By day four, both my eyes had sporadic, sparse lashes. Honestly, it was embarrassing. Those are results I typically expect after two+ weeks, not four days. All instructions were followed (not my first extensions and I was up all night day one, so I didn't sleep on them). It took only 60 seconds with a makeup remover wipe to rid myself of the last remaining lashes. Whatever adhesive they use here is sadly subpar. She may have been the owner, but she was the only person there who I saw who may have been over 40 (she definitely wasn't an old woman, just older than the others) and she seemed very experienced. I got Russian 3D lashes (100 pieces) in "sexy" shape and in length 13. I actually meant to ask for 11-12-13 so J could enjoy the length for going out but also be appropriate for work, but I didn't communicate that well (and I only realized that AFTER she had finished my set, but they look great so I'm more than satisfied). She was gentle and hygienic, the only think I should have suggested is that i wanted my lashes to flare OUT (which is what I thought "sexy" was) instead of forward. LASH SERVICE - 9/10 Prior to the service, I was offered the opportunity to upgrade the number of pieces for $10 which was tempting! But I wanted to see what the 100 would look like on me first. I got a Groupon for this studio and was pretty excited to try this new trend of having extended lashes! It's kind've hard to find since the studio is not a store front but rather on a 4th floor of a building so make sure to look out for the building # as there wasn't a sign for the actual business on the outside just FYI! Once inside the studio is very cute and calming with plenty space to sit while you're waiting for your appointment. I didn't really know what to expect since this was my first experience but was pleasantly surprised as to how relaxing it was! I have been getting my eyelashes done consistently for over 2 years. Never have any lashes fallen out in the first days let alone bald spots in one week. Found Christine Lash Studio through Groupon and ended up purchasing the Russian 3D lash deal. The studio was nicely decorated but it was quite hot in there. After checking in with the receptionist you fill out a form and shortly after they go over the options with you. There are four styles to choose from and several lengths. They explained that since I chose the 3D lash option, instead of a single lash it is technically a feathered lash that seems to be made up of three thinner lashes. I opted to get 13mm in length and added $20 for an additional 20 lashes per eye instead of opting for longer lashes. It would give me more volume and a fuller natural look instead. The whole process took about an hour. All in all I'm pretty happy with the lashes. We will see how they hold up in this hot weather. 2 week update: Most of the lashes on my right eye fell out already and bunches have been falling out since after the first week. My right eye is very sparse looking whereas my right eye is full towards the ends and empty in the middle. My coworker who went there as well is having a similar experience. My friend told me about Christine Lash Studio and since then I've come back three times every two weeks (I'm sure I could come back in three because the lashes really stay on longer than other places I've been to previously) but I honestly enjoy my ~45min of relaxation. There are anywhere from 2 - 4 technicians working at a time and while that may not seem like much compared to other lash studios that usually have 7 people working, the technicians here are detailed and quick. I did not purchase a Groupon, but the regular prices here are a steal compared to other studios. I cannot recommend this place enough!! I had a Groupon for the luxury 100 piece and the front desk was welcoming when I told her it was my first time getting it done. But after going in I literally was sat for 30 mins while he did my lashes and rushed me out. Several times it felt like he was harshly rubbing my lashes so I said to be careful continually as it felt like my natural lash was being hurt. After completion I realized that there is no way there are 50 pieces on each eye. Furthermore the lashes are not mink at all but synthetic mink and look VERY shiny and plastic on me. Just an FYI. I feel like I definitely was not given a full set of 100 pieces and I woke up to a few having fallen off. I was also really annoyed that the two women next to me were in there for at least fifteen minutes before I even started while I filled out forms, and their Techs were still working on their lashes when mine was already done with me! It really felt like he heard it was my first time and totally skipped out on me. I get the groupon is cheap, but then don't advertise what you're not going to provide. Advertise "40 pieces synthetic mink 30 mins" not "100 piece luxury please block off 60-90mins". Otherwise I'll go elsewhere and pay for what i expect is being provided. It's a shame because I love to be a regular at places that at least meet the expectation the first time. My friends who get lashes done regularly all assured me it's impossible to apply 100 pieces in the time he did. I went In at 4:10 pm and was done before 4:40. He also accidentally got a bit of glue in my eye which burned a while before it could calm down. There is nothing luxurious to me about the lashes as there's no volume just a bit of length. I was recommended here by my two friends/sisters. I really liked how their lash extensions looked so I said I definitely have to try this location out. It was my first time trying extensions and I must say I am super duper impressed with both my extensions and the location. When I walked into the studio I was in awe! It is beautifully decorated and makes you feel cozy. Christine herself helped me choose the style, length and type. She is very sweet, all of them are really nice. The process was very relaxing! The room was very clean, the bed was clean and they played spa music which almost put me to sleep a few times . Process started around 30 minutes late. No communication about what was going on until I asked. I understand things happen but it would've been nice if someone texted me to say they were running behind schedule. I also felt like the technician took longer than it usually takes for me to have individuals applied. My lashes were pretty but as seen in my pictures the lashes fell off pretty fast. I noticed shedding by the next day. I've been wearing lashes for a while so I'm very familiar with taking care of them& I hardly wear makeup. Lashes barely made it 2 weeks, I'm use to 3 weeks at least. No plans on returning. read more

When you go in they will add additional charges that is not part of the groupon. The Groupon is just get you to come in thinking it's a good price. They only take cash. NY State Occupational Health and Safety shows NO register esthetician license for this business name or address. This may explain why they only do cash. If you want to pay by card they ask you to get it out of their atm machine which is ironically right by the front desk. Gina was the worst. She was very rough even poked me a few times and did NOT apologize at all. Even when they asked me at the end and I told them they did NOT apologize. It is an assembly line place...you and several others shares the same room so no privacy at all. I would give 1/2 star if that was an option. They take a while to return your call or text. They will lie and tell you they never got your call or text, but on I phone it tells you that message was received and even tells you when it was read. I highly recommend you seek a license place and not this place. Check with BBB before making an appointment here or any lash extension place so your own lashes don't end up falling out. read more

Never again, I used to get my lashes done regularly but it's a time consuming hobby so I was staying away. Got curious and bought 80 lashes. It's been about 4 hours since I finished and about 20 lashes fell out of my right eye. Left is fine, only 2-3. Over all, that's pretty crappy and disappointing. They were nice and accommodating but there are better technicians it there for the same price. Update: I contacted next day and they were nice enough to accommodate a follow up appointment right away. Fixed it for no charge. This is my first time at Christine Lash Studio and it was a okay experience. 1. They honor the Groupon price if you are a first time customers 2. It takes around an hour to do your lashes. 3. I got the 100pcs lashes and it didn't feel like 100pcs 4. The lash technician didn't do my lash even. The left eye had more lash than my right eye and it wasn't the right style. I had the cute style but the left eye was "cute" and the right eye was "cute/volume" style. It did look too bad but it was uneven. I didn't know how it was supposed to look since it was my first time doing my lashes. 5. My right eye lashes fall off quicker than my left eye and it's really even. I went back to fix it and it felt like they put less than 5 lashes on my right eye. (15$) to fix it. 6. At least 5 lashes fell off the second day I got my lash done. 7. After two weeks my left eye is still full looking but my left eye is sparse. read more

I'm giving two stars because you do get good consultation on what you are trying on and they're pretty speedy with application. Both times I tried this place my eyes swole and eventually peeled. The second time I warned about The peeling and specifically asked for hypoallergenic glue. I did some research and most experts say that it's either allergic to reaction or irritation caused by too much or too harsh glue. Because after my eyes peel I am fine it's not an allergic reaction. The brand glue they use is US Eye Designer. I only see this brand's presence on their own website. I can't pretend to be an expert on glue but their lack of presence makes me believe that this is some off brand cheap alternative that is unsafe. They also list to consult a doctor for any irritation which shows the lack of knowledge available about their formulation. There's tons of people here with great reviews, maybe I am sensitive to the glue but I think that people should know that there is a potential for irritation with the brand of glue that they use and Highlight it with a poor review read more

Im so happy with this place! I found Christine lash studio on groupon just to try it out. Im very skeptical on lash places bc i had a bad experience before but they changed my mind so quick! I got my lashes done for my birthday/2 week vacation. I only had 2 or 3 lashes come off and they still look amazing! Such beautiful work! I recommend the russian volume lashes. No discomfort or anything either. I found myself my forever lash spot!! Thank you guys! read more
