Doctor Bonner is amazing. She really takes the time to get to know you and your needs. She doesn't rush through anything and is very invested in her patients. She gave me such a peace of mine. Will recommend her to anyone I know in the area. read more

The new leaf I have turned over this year is to not allow people, no matter what sort of "superior" position of service they may be in, to waste my time. Doctors are no different. I had a doctor's appointment today at 3:15. I even called ahead and asked if she was on schedule because I had a class across town that i didn't want to be late for. I arrived early and was taken into the exam room at 3:00pm. I was initially grateful for them to take me early. Boy, was I wrong. After my vitals were taken by the nurse, I was left in the cold exam room with nothing but my gown on for the next hour. This is totally inexcusable. They could have left me in the waiting room, fully clothed, reading a magazine if the doctor wasn't ready. But instead, they leave you in this awkward and uncomfortable situation. I got dressed and got ready to leave, but not before breaking down. I have had health problems in the past that make going to this type of doctor stressful enough without being left alone naked in an exam room. They did not even offer to validate my parking on my way out. I called to let them know to have the doctor call me because I was upset that I had paid $21.00 in parking, waited an hour after my appt. time, etc. I got a call later NOT from the doctor, but from one of her staff apologizing and telling me they made an appt. for Feb. 13th. Lame. The fact that they couldn't accomodate me earlier given the circumstance is inexcusable. I was also informed that a transfer of my medical records would be $35.00. Total, utter bullshit. I left my last doctor for the same reason. They are a business, just like any other and I DO have a choice. And I choose to not be treated with such disregard for my feelings and time. read more

So maybe the nurses at the front desk are a little cranky. And getting in and out of my appointment takes an hour because Dr. Bonner has so many patients (and is usually dealing with someone in labor). I will gladly overlook these minor problems because Dr. Bonner is great. She is very knowledgeable and puts you at ease. I mentioned that my husband and I might start "trying" in few years. I sat in awe as she counted off the list of preparations on her fingers--blood work, checking on past immunizations, getting an updated tetanus shot, taking a prenatal vitamin 3 months before, etc. I thought that by taking a folic acid supplement and keeping my binge drinking to a minimum, I was ahead of the game. I asked my friend, who has 8.3 million babies in her family, if she knew about these "preparations." She said NO because 99% of the women she knows who get pregnant, don't plan it. By the parade of pregnant women going in and out of Dr. Bonner's office, I think she knows what she's talking about. read more

At different stages in one's life, people have different expectations about care from one's doctors. These days I see my doctors as partners in my healthcare and I expect to leave their offices feeling good about my care. That was not the case with Dr. Bonner or her staff. They were cool to say the least. Efficiency, not care, seem to be their major concern. I had a 9:00 a.m. appointment. After being late more than a half-hour, Dr. Bonner's apology was half hearted. This is not a terrible offense but when she got there and talked to me she did not seem to be listening. She appeared as if she had something on her mind. After speaking with me she left me so that I could get undressed. I waited for what seemed like a long time ( I am sure it wasn't as long as I imagine but after waiting already...)that I made a few phone calls. Dr. Bonner came in while I was on the phone and seemed a bit put out (kind of funny really). When she gave me the exam it was very quick. In fact, she barely touched my breast. All of this seemed odd to me because all of my previous doctors have spent time getting to know me and my body. I asked her about the results and she said that if nothing was wrong I would not hear from her but if there was a problem she or someone from her staff would contact me in two weeks. Again, that seemed odd to me. What if someone one her staff forgot to call. At any rate, after 2.5 weeks, I followed up for my peace of mind. When I left Dr. Bonner's office I felt more stressed. In addition, there were a number of questions, I asked her that she seem to dismiss them. I also brought up my accupuncturist and her expression spoke volumes of displeasure. For me, that's not what I believe I should feel after leaving a doctor's office. Technically, Dr. Bonner is very good and someone who wants to get in an out, she is probably great. However, her bedside manner from my point of view leaves something to be desired. My goal is to forge a partnership with my doctor. Dr. Bonner is not bad just not right for me. read more

It is hard to decide on a rating. I love Dr. Bonner. She's a great doctor and like Beth said, gives a great consultation and a quick painless exam. But I've also had the staff issues that Kera and Laurie had. Since becoming pregnant I've been going to her office quite a bit and have had to deal with the staff a lot more. Once they changed the time of my appointment twice and then never called to confirm the start time--and when I got there I found out the time had been changed one more time. Also, when I called in to get a prescription for some prenatals that would help with nausea, I had to call twice because the prescription was never called into the drugstore. I eventually gave up and just got the prescription in person when I was there next. I have noticed that I do have to wait quite a bit for a lot of appointments. I'll show up, get blood drawn, go to the wait room, get called to the exam room . . . and sit . . . and sit . . . and sit. Not sure who's fault that is. I do always get the same nurse (an older woman) and she's great. Very helpful and friendly. I've also had to see Dr. Clinton once and I really liked her as well. She was very nice and friendly. So I'll be staying with Dr. Bonner because her office location is great and I love her and her nurse. But the office staff really needs to step it up. I never had these issues at her old location so I'm willing watch and see what happens. Maybe they took on too many patients when they moved offices? Maybe they switched to a new computer system and it's created problems? Who knows? Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed. Hopefully it's all temporary from the move. read more

I think Dr. Bonner has good bedside manner and is very easy to talk to. However, a few reasons for not giving more stars - my baby was born on Thanksgiving - 10 days prior to my due date. I was convinced 2 days before he was born that it would be soon given how my body felt. She examined me and basically told me - no chance the baby will come early. Sure enough - he did. In any case, Dr. Bonner wasn't the doctor on call during my labor, so I paged the one on call. She was terrible. She didn't even make it in time for my delivery. And when she did come afterwards - she was horrible. Overall, I'd say Dr. Bonner is pretty good, but I'm just not a fan of that practice. read more

Dr. Bonner has been my OBGYN since 2009, and more recently she has been guiding us through our first pregnancy (we are due in early May). She has a very calming demeanor but it also very direct. The best piece of advice she gave me at my first pre-natal appointment was to not stop exercising during my pregnancy, specifically "keep going, don't stop." I also appreciated the plethora of tests that are offered through her practice - genetic testing, etc. We were able to find out the gender of our child at 12 weeks with a blood test, and also had peace of mind that nothing serious was developing. More importantly, Dr. Bonner encourages us to ask questions no matter how dumb we may think they are, and never makes us feel like her way is always the right way. Also, I am thoroughly confused how insurance matters and the billing staff have anything to do with Dr. Bonner's practice as a medical professional. Anyone with half a brain knows it is imperative to check with your insurance carrier prior to receiving certain medical services. read more

Dr. Bonner was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. However, her front staff was not the most pleasant or courteous.

I have been a patient of Dr Bonner since moving here in 2002 and have had two children with her. I could not ask for a more personable obgyn that is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable! I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. I actually did recommend her to one of my best friends and she also fell in love with her and used her during her pregnancy. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Bonner since my teenage years, about 13 years now. I couldn't imagine having any other Dr.

I have been seeing Dr. Bonner since 2003 and I think that she is one of the best when it comes to patient care. She always takes the time to sit with you and catch up, discuss medical concerns and changes. She is always very pleasant and does a thorough exam. When I decide to have children, I will definitely be happy to have her by my side. For the most part, her staff is helpful. The nurses are nice and let you know if Dr. Bonner is on a delivery or running behind schedule. The front desk does seem a little monotone from time-to-time, but my messages always get through to Dr. Bonner and my prescriptions always filled in an efficient manner. In my opinion, she is one of the best in her field at Northwestern. :) read more

Every time I've gone to her I've had a pleasant experience. She's very sweet, knowledgeable and easy to talk to, plus she makes the ol' "pinch and burn" procedure as swift as possible. read more

I just got back from Dr. Bonner's office. She has been my ob/gyn for 5 years now. I think she, personally, is a GREAT doctor! However, her staff (nurse) and her office are something to be desired. I am 33 weeks pregnant. For most of the time of my pregnancy, there have been issues with her office. They let my blood expire and I had to go back to get more drawn; the nurse left me in the room for 45 minutes (like Kera) before anyone came in. I was on my way out, but they showed up as I was walking out the door. They have lost my appointment 2x and I had to reschedule. On one reschedule, I complained to Dr. Bonner!!!! She was sympathetic. But still! On another occasion, I was at the billing area for 45 minutes after another appointment because the billing woman couldn't find that my insurance had paid 2007. Another billing woman came in and found it right away! Who are these inadequate employees? Today, I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment. I was to meet another doctor in the practice. This doctor was in delivery and may not return for another 45 minutes. (this is understandable - I am happy they actually TOLD me this - sometimes they don't tell you.) They suggested I could see her physician's assistant. Ok, I say. Welllll, the PA won't be in for 45 minutes perhaps either. "GREAT!!! Is there anyone else I could see?" The receptionist says, "No. Whoever comes back or in first is who you will see." I complain to her that there is always an issue when I come in and that I find it interesting that they want to see me every 2 weeks, but then I get here and I have to wait?? So I rescheduled AGAIN for tomorrow with Dr. Bonner this time. I would love to get a new doctor, but at this point in my pregnancy, it's probably not a good idea. read more

I was referred to Dr Bonner by my sister in law; she delivered both of my nieces. I LOVE Dr Bonner! I haven't had the smoothest pregnancy, but Dr Bonner has been right on top of every issue that has come up- including my breast cancer diagnosis. She really cares and does everything in her power to make sure I'm getting the best care with her and with my cancer doctors, as well. I feel like I'm in the best hands with her, and although I haven't delivered yet, I trust her completely. She's friendly but serious when she needs to be. I get test results in a very timely manner. The staff has been very friendly to me, as well. Highly recommend! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Bonner for years. When I arrived for my yearly check-up, I was told she was at the hospital on an emergency. I was seen and examined by her physician's assistant. It was the most painful experience I have ever had, including my total knee replacement. I could not find an email address for Dr. Bonner, so I wrote her a letter telling her what happened. No response. Since she did not care enough to even call me, I WILL be choosing another gynecologist. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. And I hate yelp but I am so frustrated I have no choice. My husband and I are having difficulty conceiving so my doctor, Dr. Bonner with CWHG had suggested I complete a series of fertility tests. Conveniently enough neither she nor the tests were covered in my insurance, so I paid over $3,000 in cash for the various exams and blood work. Thanks to continued insurance changes, I recently had to switch doctors to ensure these things were covered. When I contacted Dr. Bonner's office to request the results and my records, I was told I would have to pay for them. Didn't I already pay for them? Thousands of dollars in fact in cash? I didn't have any outstanding bills, I knew that. So, I signed the necessary forms sent to the office and waited 10 days with no response. So I wrote again asking for confirmation of receipt of my signed release form - 5 days later, still no response. So I call the office and am told by the records assistant that she didn't want to call me back because she was going to tell me I would have to pay, and she didn't want to do that. WHAT?? Is this a joke? Besides being unprofessional not to mention inconsiderate she then tells me, most doctor's offices don't but they do. I said I would contact an attorney and she suggested I do so. When I asked to speak to her boss I'm told she's at lunch and I'll have to call back after 3. Again, WHAT? So incredibly disappointing, hurtful and deceiving. I would have never paid for those tests had I known I would have just gone straight to the fertility doctor and pay him for them. Chicago Women's Health Group and Dr. Bonner are unethical, unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

Very poor experience with Dr. Bonner. During the pregnancy, she didn't read her notes prior to meeting us, did not directly answer many questions, often left us with more questions than answers, couldn't recall details about pregnancy, & would rush through our appt. During delivery, she provided incorrect pushing directions to the nurse (there was a more interesting delivery scheduled at the same time), didn't describe options until after delivery, & handed off her surgical responsibilities after delivery to her junior partner (& didn't record the name of junior partner in her post op notes). After delivery, she delayed giving antibiotics (even though there was an infection), couldn't recall important details about our delivery (namely degree of tear) because it wasn't in her notes, & didn't provide any meaningful feedback (because, again, her notes were incomplete). Because of this experience, we were left scarred & disillusioned about having more children. I will never recommend anyone to Dr. Bonner. read more
