From the moment I first went to the office and they charged me the incorrect copay to weird things with scheduling to going back & forth with clients a million times while others are waiting to just generally being unfriendly - not a good first impression. Short side is - Go somewhere else. Despite having some great nurses, front staff is unprofessional and a hot mess and is not able to handle sensitive situations.

I asked if the doctor could submit the preauthorization that day (since I am running out of medication) and he said, "well the doctor is very busy". The preauthorization STILL HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED. Good thing it's birth control and not any life-saving medicine. Do yourself a favor and find a different doctor.

I chose this practice being that is was mostly women doctors (at the time I believe there was one lone male doctor, but if I remember correctly at my last visit, they were all female) and they were affiliated with the hospital I would like to deliver my children at (also the hospital in which I was born at many moons ago as well - Ha!). I have been thru 2 pregnancies with this practice and they took good care of me, and my babies. Both pregnancies I developed high blood pressure towards the end of my pregnancies and needed to be monitored. They were very good with this. Because of the blood pressure, I was put on bed rest and then once I was closer to my due date, I was induced. Dr. Novas delivered my son, 11 days before his due date. Dr. Chamberlain delivered my daughter, 8 days before her due date. I think I've seen every doctor in the practice and I don't recall there ever being a time I was disappointed with anything. My kids are now 11 & 8 years old, and while I am done having babies, this practice is still kind and gentle and I am comfortable here. Even now that I've moved further away, and no longer work nearby like I used to .... I still use this practice and don't plan on changing.

Excited for my first appointment when I found out I was pregnant, the first thing my doctor said to me when she walked in (not even "hello") was a disappointed look and, "I thought you were going to lose more weight first?" I was under 200 pounds to start and gained 20 pounds (including the baby!) the entire pregnancy. The nurses "tsked" every time I got on the scale. I left every single appointment in tears. I left at 30 weeks to go to a different practice after another doctor there told me I'd "die on the table" if I needed a c-section because they "couldn't anesthetize someone of my size." To be honest I'm grateful they made me meet all the doctors at the practice, because they were all monstrous and I knew I had to go somewhere else for my own safety and that of my child. I did end up needing a c-section, and it went just fine. I had a healthy baby, an easy recovery, and luckily ended my pregnancy at a supportive practice that treated me with respect and dignity. Avoid at all costs.

Will have to see how this update pans out... but when I saw the amazing Dr. Lutheringhausen back in the NCH era (after Dr Alvi left), I feel that I got upgraded to a founding member of the practice by sheer luck. The professional digs seemed to have a upgrade on administrative staff as well, much better interactions. She is a powerhouse of petite perfection as a gynecologist and accordingly SO in-demand... youre lucky if you get on her patient list. She will make your junk and you feel golden. At 36-37 weeks, I should not have to repeatedly call, leave voicemails, and send multiple portal messages just to get basic follow-up and access to documentation from my appointments. After my 9/18 ultrasound/growth scan, I asked for the written visit summary/ultrasound report containing the baby's measurements, estimated weight, amniotic fluid measurement, presentation and other findings. My previous visit summaries and reports have routinely been made available through the portal, yet I was repeatedly told I would need to request this at my next in-person appointment. I had to clarify multiple times that I was not asking for the actual ultrasound images, but simply the written report from a visit that had already occurred. I also had difficulty reaching the Arlington Heights office to reschedule an upcoming appointment. I called multiple times and left a voicemail without receiving a timely callback, despite being in the final weeks of pregnancy and needing to move my care to the Schaumburg location. What has been most disappointing is how much effort it has taken to get straightforward questions addressed. Patients this far along in pregnancy should be able to rely on timely communication, clear answers, and reasonable access to their own visit documentation without repeatedly having to chase the office. I hope WomanCare takes the communication and responsiveness concerns from the staff seriously, because these experiences have significantly affected my confidence in the practice during a time when reliable support and communication are especially important.
