She did not have good bedside manner when we were at my pregnancy appointment. This was my first pregnancy. We found out that our little man had Trisomy 18. We had an appointment the next day to tell us more about it. She didn't want to share what was on the results or what was seen on the ultrasound. She told us he was going to die because he had the Trisomy 18! She kept repeating it. and before she walked out she told my husband and I that we should take a walk together and come up with a decision. This appointment probably took 5 minutes. read more

I started going to Dr Wos since two years ago and she has been consistent and wonderful. I never feel rushed during my appointment. She is attentive and patient and isn't aggressive as some doctors may be with course of action. Her staff is also meticulous and whenever I have any questions or concerns they call back by a reasonable amount of time. The only thing I wish was different was that Dr Wos have more availability. I scheduled for a yearly checkup today and the earliest availability was in February. Make sure to get your appointment in early! read more

If I could give six stars, I would. Dr. Wos is by far the best doctor I have ever had. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and really likable.I find myself wanting to make up reasons to go visit her. Dr. Wos was recommended to me by a friend after I found out I was pregnant. I met with her and didn't even bother meeting with other MDs. She really helped us along throughout the entire process and my husband felt really comfortable talking to her. We had a few hiccups along the way and she was coordinating with us at ever step. Since it's a practice, we worked with other MDs in the office and were quite happy. They responded quickly to midnight calls and seemed to genuinely care. Our birthing experience was exceptional - i wouldnt go to any other hospital! read more

By far, the best Dr. out there. Dr. Wos "gets it" from a woman's point of view. I would highly recommend her! read more

Dr. Wos delivered our little bundle of joy and she was fantastic! What I imagine sets her apart from other doctors (though I can't be sure as this is my only birth experience) is her open-mindedness (Don't get me wrong, she's still pretty traditional, but is logical enough to allow for anything that actually works). When my labor wasn't progressing, she let us to try different positions suggested by our doula (See Birthways review) and even suggested others. Also, she also gave me additional time to try to dialate more when it was statistically unlikely that I would. This flexibility of mind in combination with our doula, enabled me to avoid getting a c-section. All this and she happens to have great bedside manner!!! read more

Most Awesome ob/gyn there is. Not only is she a kind individual that always ALWAYS makes you feel at ease but her medical expertise is very reassuring. You never feel rushed when you see her and she takes her time explaining everything to you. I have had two children and the first one was delivered by her. She did an awesome job and I was hoping my second would be able to be delivered by her..(he wasn't). What I love about Dr. Wos is that no question you ask is ever a dumb one. She has a reassuring demeanor about her that makes her feel more like a friend than your doctor. I am hoping to have one more child in the future and I only PRAY that she stays at Swedish and never leaves the Chicagoland area or I will be vastly disappointed. read more

Avoid at all costs. Inconsiderate and insensitive. I do not recommend in particular if you have abnormal test results.

AWESOME! Yup, that about sums Dr. Wos up. She is patient; well informed; caring; GENTLE; etc. etc. etc. She was recommended by my sister-in-law and I've never been happier. She saw me through one rough pregnancy and I look forward to her helping me along through future kids. Make an appointment... you won't regret it! ;o) read more

I feel I have to put something up to warn other moms to be who may be searching for an OB/GYN because part of the reason why I chose Dr. Wos in the first place as my OB/GYN was the positive reviews here on this page. First of all, these reviews are old. Maybe she had better bedside manner in the past but her bedside manner leaves much to be desired at present. There are five main issues I had with Dr. Wos and her clinic: 1. Rude receptionists Dr. Wos's receptionist yelled across the waiting room while other patients were present that my insurance was "declined." As it turned out, she had entered the number in wrong. Later on in my pregnancy, I switched to a new job so my insurance policy switched but I was with the same insurance company. I gave the receptionists the new information before my appointment, they did not enter it and similarly hollered across the room that my insurance was declined. This was extremely embarrassing. These two extreme incidents are in addition to other, less extreme but still very rude occurrences (e.g., eye rolls, being short, etc). 2. Long wait times On several occasions, my husband and I waited for 60 minutes from our arrival time to the time we met with the doctor, and 45 minutes before we met with any nursing staff. That's 60 minutes sitting in a hospital bed on an exam table while pregnant. There was no respect or attention to the fact that we may need to go back to work. Our time wasn't respected at all by this office. 3. Poor bedside manner of Dr. Wos and her colleagues. Dr. Wos was often condescending and cold during our appointments. On some occasions I had to meet with Dr. Wos's colleagues. Their bedside manner was horrible. This was my first pregnancy and they kept insisting that I was going to have a C-section because my baby was measuring large. They did so in a totally insensitive manner, especially considering that my husband and I wanted to approach our delivery naturally. At my 38(!!!) week appointment, Dr. Wos handed me the packet that new patients are supposed to receive when they first get care through her clinic. This packet had very important information including free prenatal classes, preregistration forms, information about selecting a pediatrician. We were flying blind without this information. When I told Dr. Wos I had not received the packet before, instead of apologizing, she argued with me and insisted that I was given the packet. For religious / cultural reasons, I requested to be present during my son's circumcision. I was informed by the hospital that it is the individual physician's decision whether or not to allow parents to be present. Dr. Wos and her colleagues coldly refused to allow me to be present during this procedure despite the cultural and religious importance to me. 4. Refusal to accept transfer patients I started my pregnancy in Indiana and was scheduled to move to Chicago when I was in my 6th month of pregnancy. Dr. Wos and her colleagues refused to accept transfer patients past 4.5 months so if I wanted to be seen by this office, which was more convenient for me based on my location, I needed to drive from Indiana to attend appointments with her. Prior to moving from Chicago, I was seen by a well established office at Indiana University Health Arnett so it's not like I was receiving back alley prenatal care out of a van. This office would rather see very pregnant patients drive 2.5 hours to an appointment than accept medical records from a reputable hospital. 5. Lack of consideration when I was in labor One of the most egregious things that I experienced was the fact that I was in labor, just a *literally* 3 minute walk away from Dr. Wos's office during a scheduled appointment time with her. Surley her office was notified that I was in labor. She very easily could have walked over to the room I was in, or at the very least called during our appointment time to offer reassurance, congratulate me, or do any of the other things a doctor should do. She could have walked over and did the exam herself instead of leaving it to the resident. There are many things she could have done, and I would have expected less if we didn't have an appointment scheduled on the day I went into labor, but the fact of the matter is we did have an appointment scheduled and she really should have called. Ultimately, I got my postnatal care from another physician at Advocate Lutheran General who was very kind to me during my inpatient stay after my complicated delivery. I am quite happy with the care I receive from my new doctor, who performed my C-section, and her colleagues in the Yackman clinic. read more

Dr. Wos has fantastic bedside manner. I like her so much I'm considering changing my health plan to have her as my doctor again. I've just been told she left RPA. Does anyone know where she is now? 12/8/14 UPDATE: 2/3/15 I still have not found where she moved to, I do keep looking! But if you can find her, please message me!! UPDATE: 3/23/15 She has moved to Park Ridge, Advocate Lutheran. Thanks to all the folks who shared this with me, and good luck to everyone in their quests for fantastic medical care. read more

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Wos. I agree with the review that says she "gets it" and I also recommend her. In fact, she deserves six stars! I have had her as my doc for about ten years, through two pregnancies and births, and for many issues. I love her so much I have followed her from St. Joe's (love the care there) to Illinois Masonic, and to Swedish Covenant. I love love love her! read more

I am 25 and this is the first time i was getting any sort of lady check up. The waiting room is beautiful filled with couches. I arrived 10 minutes early since i was a first time patient and filled out all the paper work. I waited about 3 minutes after i tuned in the paper work. Elana was a great nurse and explained everything perfectly. I was most nervous for my pap but she told me Dr. Wos is really good at them. She was right.. i didn't feel any pain ! kind of excited to go back again hahaha. read more

Not sure what that one star reviewer was talking about but I absolutely adore Dr. Wos. I have been seeing her for more than 10 yrs (even followed her when she switched hospitals). She is such a patient and kind doctor. Never once in both of my pregnancies has she made me feel rushed or unimportant. On the contrary she has always made me feel at ease and answered any and all of my questions. She delivered baby #1 and I was totally bummed that she wasn't on call when I had baby #2 but you can't always predict those sorts of things, lol. I have recommended Dr. Wos to others and speak very highly of her. A great gyny indeed! Her nurses are also very friendly as well, especially Elana :-) read more

Dr. Wos is very knowledgeable, understandable and compassionate. She listens to and answers any and all questions I have. She is by far, the best out there. I have been seeing her now for about 6 years and will continue to see her until I am forced to find a new Dr. I definitely recommend her. read more

She is my favorite lady doctor. I saw her last week and she answered all my questions and she didn't rush me at all. She's very personal and makes you feel comfortable during an uncomfortable exam. If anyone needs a OB-Gyn, go see Dr. Wos! read more

If you're looking for a new OB/GYN, look elsewhere. I've been going to Dr. Wos in this office since 2006. It's always been difficult to get an appointment, but 2013 has been a nightmare. In early January, I tried to make an appointment for February, since I was due for my yearly exam, and also needed a prescription for the new year. I was told that February was all booked up, and to call back in two weeks, which is when they expected her March calendar to be opened up. I called back, two weeks to the day, and was told that March had booked up quickly, and that I'd have to make an appointment in April. Okaaay...but I'm out of refills for my prescription. "No problem" the woman on the phone says. Just have your pharmacy fax in a request when you need your re-fill, and we'll gladly extend it. Also, she took my name and phone number, and promised a phone call when April opened up so that I could make an appointment. Fantastic! When I needed my prescription filled at the end of January, all goes with out a hitch. Weeks go by, and I don't receive a phone call that April has opened up. One Saturday, I receive a voicemail. "Please call us to reschedule your appointment you missed on Wednesday." Um...what? I never made an appointment in February. In fact, I have yet to make an appointment at all. I call back the next week to not only clear up the issue of the phantom missed appointment, but also to see if April is open. It is not. Later that week, I need to get a re-fill again on my prescription. I go through the same process as before. Along with a second, separate prescription to get filled, I ask my pharmacy to fax in the request. I get a phone call later that day, Thursday. My request has been denied because I need to make an appointment. This is pretty much where I lost my mind. I call in and talk to anther very pleasant woman on the phone. I tell her the whole story of what is going on, and she is very apologetic. April has just opened up, so we not only make my appointment, but she tells me to call my pharmacy and have them re-fax in the request immediately, and she would let the nurse on duty know to look for it and respond ASAP. So now, I believe this is all taken care of. Friday early afternoon I receive a text that my prescriptions have been filled, so I stop in after work to pick them up. When I get to the desk, there is only one filled. Not two. They never heard back from the office approving my second request. While I'm paying for my one prescription (there's a line forming behind me, and I don't want to hold everyone up), the pharmacist calls the Doctor's office to see if she can get approval. The answering service answers, and refuses to page the doctor because it is not an emergency. So, now it's Friday afternoon, the office isn't open until Monday, and I need to start taking my prescription on Sunday. At this point, I am so livid, I'm practically seeing red. I call in Monday at 11:00am. The woman who answers the phone confirms that they sent I the approval that morning at 9:00am, and that the fax was marked as "received." They should have it, she says. I call the pharmacy. Pharmacist on duty, who has been there all day, hasn't received anything, but offers to call the doctor to follow up, and will call me right back. After an hour, I receive a call back from the pharmacy - even though the office says they sent the documentation, the pharmacy never received it, however she has verbal confirmation to fill the prescription and add a refill. So, after a number of hours, and numerous phone calls, I finally have what I need. Now, I'll be canceling my appointment and going somewhere else. Obviously, they don't need my business because they are too busy and have too many patients to give every even just adequate service. read more

Dr Wos is so patient and very gentle. During my pregnancy I also saw couple other doctors due to her schedule but still she's my favorite.

I agree with the ladies here who said Dr. Wos deserves six stars. She is undeniably the best doctor I have ever seen. She is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. I know how busy her office is, but I never feel like I'm just a number on the list. It seems like she has all the time in the world to spend with her patients, and she takes the time to become familiar with their cases before walking into the room. Dr. Wos performed a laparoscopy on me a couple years ago. She has a very calm manner and explained in detail what the situation was and what was going to happen. I knew I was in capable hands. Not only is Dr. Wos an excellent doctor, but she is also a wonderful person. Highly recommended! read more

I just moved to the suburbs from the City and was nervous about seeing a new OB/GYN's. I had seen my previous doctor for over 10 years so I had considered just driving back to the city during my annual visits. Knowing that at some point I have to move my life completely out to the suburbs, I took a chance on Dr. Wos. No offense to my previous doctor but she was so much better and more thorough and. She actually sat down and talked to me for a few minutes instead of being in and out. Being married to a doctor, I know the pressure there is to keep the patients flowing so I really appreciate it when someone spends time with me. This is the kind of doctor I had hoped to find so I feel very lucky!! My previous office never called with results and you assumed it was negative if you didn't hear from them, but she told me somebody would call with results. I also didn't wait very long for her to come in unlike my previous doctor so that's always nice. read more

Just saw Dr. Wos for a routine procedure. She was so thorough when explaining things to my mom and I, and patient throughout my low-pain tolerance episodes. She got creative mid-procedure and put real effort into fixing my situation- she made herself 30 min late just to try every possible solution. The office staff is so sweet and always took my calls/answered my questions. Couldn't ask for a better doc/experience! read more

Needed to have my annual exam done and Dr. Wos was great! Very efficient, which is ideal for that exam. I also had pre-conception questions for her, she was very willing to answer them and very informative. read more

I am over 50 and probably entering menopause. Dr. Wos listened to me. She really cared about answering questions. The first pelvic examination was quick and completely painless. She has great technique. She did not rush to diagnose whether I would need surgery, She ordered a very expensive but powerful test that showed what was really inside. She practices medicine with some sensitivity. On a second visit, the colposcopy was about average in discomfort, but fast. She seemed to wince afterward when she told me I might have cramps, as if she was thinking about how I live in my body. She was genuinely concerned about minimizing my pain and any discomfort. She observed my overall health and gait. She referred me to other specialists who were also great. Swedish Covenant has good doctors in the best sense. read more

I have also followed Dr. Wos from St. Joes (with two pregancies). Both she and Dr. Brennan are outstanding. When you're with Dr. Wos, you feel as though you are her only patient. She totally concentrates on all of your questions and you have her attention 100% of the time and you don't feel like she's rushing you to get to her next appointment.. She also detected my pp depression after delivering my second son--mild case which she treated. I will hopefully be a patient of hers for the duration....you are in the best hands with Dr. Wos. read more

very honest. i could feel that she really cares for her patient. i am very happy with Dr. Wos consultation. thank you

She IS the best! So nice & so sweet ALWAYS! Answers all my questions & doesn't look annoyed. When I was in labor with my 2nd baby, my oldest daughter was only 6yrs old. The nurse kicked my daughter out when it was time to deliver my baby (said it was the rules of the hospital), that made my daughter cry because we all wanted her to be there when the baby was born. When Dr. Wos came in, she immediately asked why my daughter was not in the room & sent for her. Happy to say that we were ALL there as a family when my baby was born THANKS to Dr. Wos!!! :) She will continue to be my Dr. forever if possible! read more

She's straightforward, easy to talk to and can explain in basic terms whats going on. Love her, one of the best doctors I've had.

I had a really terrible experience with Dr. Wos. My pregnancy got immeasurably better once I switched practices. If this is your first child and you have a lot of questions, are nervous, or expect someone to take their time with you I would not recommend her. I hope that I was just a bad fit with her because I can't imagine anyone being happy with that sort of treatment. read more

Because of HMO and Primary Care Physician, I didn't really have a choice in my OB/GYN when I discovered I was pregnant. Anyway, I couldn't have asked for a better doctor to help me through my pregnancy. Usually, things don't work out this way so well, but I'm glad it did. Dr. Wos listened and made appropriate recommendations for me throughout. read more

I agree with all the positive reviews. No one else I would trust to deliver my kids and take care of me like I was a family member! I followed her from Swedish to Lutheran. read more

New resident from out of state. Refused an appointment because I'm more than 26 weeks along.

my 18year daughter saw dr. wos and was smiling when she left the room.(never happens) she said she was very comfortable and dr. wos and the resident doctor treated her very nice and explained everything and all options to her. if you have a teen daughter that feels uncomfortable at these kinds of appointments then you know how difficult it is to find a doctor for her. dr. wos is definitely who you should see. read more
