I cannot say enough good things about Christina and the magic she works. I was at the end of my rope with some 'lady issues', not to mention a laundry list of other woes, and yelled to my pals on FB to see if they could recommend anything since I couldn't go back to hormones for fixing. A friend had had the exact same symptoms as I had, and she said that Christina cleared it all up. I was a tad skeptical, but gave it a shot, and seriously, one of the best things i've ever done for myself. Within 2 visits, she had made most of those problems go away, had completely fixed some nerve problems I had, and heck, pretty much got rid of my IBS. Other things took a little longer, but i'd have noticeable improvements each time. I had to take a break from visits for a while, but my lady woes never returned, and now that I'm back, she's working all new magic on a whole new list of problems I have [nothing serious, just the joys of getting older]. Now for the best bit: Christina is easily one of the kindest, warmest, most personable and informed humans I've ever met. She just exudes empathy and wonderfulness. I've told her things I'd be hesitant to tell my PCP. In fact, I trust her more than my PCP, and I really like my doctor. She has wonderful advice about things I can do outside of acupuncture for different things, and always goes above and beyond with her time to make sure I have a great treatment. I didn't have two many sessions with Christina, but that was because she was really honest about what she could and couldn't do, which I appreciated so much. And what she could do was great! I've been seeing Christina for several years now and cannot recommend her enough. Her office is clean and comfortable (and in a great location, on the same block as the Copley T entrance) and she is trustworthy and professional. It's very easy to establish a comfortable relationship with Christina, which is important for any therapeutic service. Her treatments are relaxing even with Copley Square outside - she has strategically placed white noise machines, light music, and wonderful heated pads on her treatment tables (this is amazing when there are sub-zero temps). I have never noticed noise from outside during my treatments and they're always extremely relaxing. I leave feeling completely rejuvenated. If you're looking for a calm, comfortable acupuncture experience in Boston, Christina's office should be your first stop. read more

In the interest of full disclosure let me say that Christina Dea is an ex-colleague of mine. We worked together at Healthworks fitness before branching out into our own private practices. After we left Healthworks, I made a point of staying in touch with her because I wanted a good acupuncturist that I could refer my massage therapy clients to. I have received treatments from Christina several times, for stress and the ensuing migraines I have been dealing with for years. Every time Christina did her examination, she would say, "Did you rush to get here?" I guess one of those Chinese Medicine pulses that I don't understand was fluctuating wildly or whatever she looks at when she makes you stick out your tongue was giving her clues. I hadn't rushed to get there, but she could always tell that my stress-level was over the top, even though I didn't feel it myself. As she began to insert the needles, though, I could immediately feel the sense of relief and tranquility begin to set in. Most times she would use that warm and lovely moxa as well, to the delight of my tired aching muscles. One of my clients tells me that she goes to "La La Land" during her massage. La La Land means "not really asleep and not really awake, but completely relaxed and happy." That's where you go during one of Christina's acupuncture treatments, straight into the healing zone! The relaxation begins when you begin telling your sad story at the beginning of your appointment. Christina listens as if you were the only other human being on the planet, or at least the most important of all the 7 million + who now inhabit the earth! She is kind and compassionate and very serious about her work and about helping people. I don't mean she's stodgy and humorless. She has an easy and fun-loving personality, but she also knows her stuff! One last thing: If you are nervous about needles, Christina Dea is the one to allow to apply them to your body :-) This is my experience: There are certain points on the ears and man, she loved sticking those needles into my ears. For some reason, I found it very stressful. It wasn't even painful, but I just didn't like it. I just didn't like it so much that I almost wanted to cry. I knew she was doing the best thing to help me, and she was very gentle. I didn't want to be lame so I didn't say anything. One day she could tell something was wrong, though. She asked and I told her. She said, "Lisa! I'm so glad you told me. It isn't necessary to put the needles there. We can use other points. Don't worry at all!" I tried to protest, but she insisted that the treatment did not have to be unpleasant and she could work around my sensitivity. And she could. I still felt great during and after my treatment. It's obvious I can't say enough about Christina. Personally and professionally I recommend her without reserve. If you've ever thought about acupuncture, don't hesitate any longer. Wish I could give more stars! Christina is amazing and I feel instantly at ease as soon as I see her. A few friends recommended acupuncture and I chose to see Christina when I saw this statement on her website "Do you feel like all of your health concerns are connected somehow, but no one has taken the time to listen to you, and help you get to the "root" of the problem?" That completely summarized how I felt and every time I went to the doctor they would run tests but never give me a clear answer or solutions on how to feel better. Christina has helped me with hormonal issues, stress and fatigue and I have to say I haven't felt this good in years! I have been going to Christina for acupuncture treatment on various sports related injuries and aches/ pains for over 5 years. I always feel relief within the first one or two treatments and love that every treatment includes general stress relief and immune-system boosting. Christina is great at listening to what your problem areas are before every treatment and coming up with a customized treatment specifically for what ails you. She will even tell you about the treatment and why it is designed to help your problem areas in a way that actually makes sense! One of my most amazing experiences was the treatment I received after shoulder surgery. Christina's acupuncture helped me to get back to a full range of motion and I'm convinced it helped shorten my expected physical therapy sessions from 6 weeks to only 4 weeks. Incredibly, the needling I received around my scars made them smaller and less noticeable practically instantly! I'm not sure if I'll be following through with acupuncture, only because Dr. Zinner's treatment has me feeling really well again, but my brief meeting with Christina was so amazing that I couldn't not yelp her. I met with her as part of Healthwork's Back Bay's complimentary acupuncture consultation, so while hoped we could discuss my concerns objectively, I was also expecting a sale pitch. Instead, our appointment started with Christina patiently describing the philosophy of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, the relationship between organs and emotions, and how all different types of ailments in all different body parts are treated by acupuncture. She spent about 15 minutes explaining all this; it put me at ease that she wasn't rushing through something that was probably already second nature to her and that it was important to her the I understood the ideas behind acupuncture. When we got to talking about my concern, she was extremely sympathetic and attentive, and discussed the possibilities of treating me without at all pressuring me into signing on for treatment. She answered all of my questions and showed me what the needles looked like. Christina is very genuine and caring. If I do decide to pursue Chinese medicine, she'll be my first choice. read more

I was given Christina's name by a friend who sees her regularly and sought her out for her help when I injured my ankle running. It turned out to be a stress fracture and Christina really helped to relieve the pain. Not being able to run really stressed me out and Christina's treatment not only eased my pain but helped me to relax. I appreciated that she took the time to explain acupuncture and detail the treatment plan she designed for me before we started.
