I have to say, I love this place! I was looking for help with my back, neck, and sciatica pain. Also had tendinitis of the achilles tendon. I could barely walk. I was in PT, and that was moving slowly. Found Harvard Sq. Acupuncture, this place is reasonably priced, so I can afford to go 2xs a week. In 2 weeks, my pain level dropped! A few weeks later, walking without a limp!! I've seen each acupuncturist, and they are all amazing! well educated, experienced, kind, truly listen to your needs, and most of all, help you feel better at a reasonable price! Effective, efficient, and affordable health care. By golly, if 5 stars don't exist for just this kind of place, I'll eat my sandals...which are to be removed at the door. Slip on the slippers. Find your spot. Get needled, take a nap for as long as you want, wake up feeling better and go home with blood dripping down your forehead (just kidding). Go home or go to work feeling like you're balanced and alive!! You can book online, and pay according to the sliding scale either before or after your treatment in the self-checkout area. Pay before or you'll be too blissed out to figure out the credit card machine. I had a terrible runny nose that wouldn't quit and a menacing sore throat. Went in on a Tuesday and walked out breathing better. Came back on a Thursday and by the end of the day I was CURED! Whole thing cost me $50. I don't have health insurance or a local doctor, so this was a big win. I'd go here for any ailment without thinking twice. Except for maybe swine flu, which would be problematic in a communal treatment room. Keep that one to m'self. If you've never done acupuncture, I can only assume you also hate flossing. You should really get on that. And get with the times, yo. This kind of healing takes care of business from the inside - at the energetic level. Don't be lazy. They've made it so easy for you. Having visited numerous community clinics, HSQA is a wonderful local addition to the community in a very accessible location. There are 4 massage tables with thick layers of memory foam and pillows amd plenty of knee support, so comfort is at the max! The clinic is well organized and the practitioners are knowledgeable kind, competent and engaged from booking to discharge and do a wonderful job technically in addition to a warm bedside manner. Although traffic delayed me a few times, they graciously accommodated when possible. I was allowed to stay as long as I needed and was surprised when almost 2 hours passed before I "cleared my throat and made eye contact" to signal the end of the visit, and begin the removal of needles. I had just 2 members of the team, but trust they all will provide the same level of care. They have both Apple Pay and credit, cash, checks for payment. I had 2 visits within the same week and was surprised at how calm I felt and the scale finally dropped those remaining 4 lbs following. I plan to return and looking forward to emotional and physical improvements in health and wellness! read more

The staff is very friendly and professional and space welcoming and clean. The staff answered any questions I had and I had a relaxing session. I started coming to Harvard Square Community Acupuncture this past February to help me lower my blood pressure. It truly helped! For awhile I went twice a week, then started going once a week, and it helped me not only with my BP, but other issues such as sleeping, headaches, and sinus problems. I only go occasionally now (and not for BP anymore, since I have that under control), but I always have had a good experience. I have had every practitioner, and they are all wonderful. Lately I've mainly had Sandy, and I absolutely adore her. She obviously cares a great deal about all of her clients, and she's super gentle with the needles. I've also gotten some good advice from her regarding my sleeping issues. The sliding scale is now $20-50, and you often can get an appointment the same day. It's super easy to get an appointment through their website. It only takes about 1 minute to get an appointment once you're a returning patient. I'm so glad I finally decided to try acupuncture. My boyfriend and I followed Dalit here--this practice is her own and she has clearly taken a lot of care in creating this space. There are two rooms set up for acupuncture and a nice waiting room. It is sunny and very clean, and Dalit has set up the treatment rooms beautifully and with high quality equipment. You feel instantly calmer. We were both nervous about the needles, and Dalit showed us there is no need for fear when we began treatments. She is super considerate and warm, which helps diffuse any nerves, and we look forward to seeing her whenever we find the time to come in! The set up is pay what you can, with a minimum of $20 per person. I find the sessions are more effective at pain treatment and relaxation than a massage. When we leave we are so relaxed, and our bodies feel somehow younger. My boyfriend's treatments focus on sports recovery (muscle soreness and minor injuries). I have bad feet and bad eczema, but the sessions help hugely. I've been able to take up running again recently. I was told I might need surgery for my foot issues--turns out not! I say skip the groupon to better support a small business. That way 100% of your payment goes to keeping this place open! read more

I went here after seeing a groupon and will definitely be continuing. I think the biggest thing people should keep in mind that this is a "group" treatment setting, so its not your typical lay in a quiet room, take your clothes off, and zone out in privacy- you can be in the room with three or four other people. You are also sitting in reclining chairs, vs massage table. However, if you can get past this- Dalit is amazing! She has a super warm, calm, and friendly energy. The place is super clean, adorable, and zen all at the same time. My favorite part is that it is nestled in Cambridge, so you can walk around after treatment. The procedure was top notch and I left feeling refreshed and relaxed. This compares to any other acupuncture service I've had, and it doesn't break your budget- allowing you to go multiple times in one month for the best effect/outcome. I've been seeing Dalit for about two months, mostly for pain in my joints and soft tissue related to chronic illness. The results have been incredible so far, including total remission of painful elbow tendinitis and TMJ, and great improvement in lower back and leg pain. I'm so happy I found this center! I had my treatments both with Nate and Dalit. They take the time to listen, to assess energy levels, to talk about progress/changes. You have the feeling to be treated (holistically) as a Person and not a list of symptoms and diseases. What I found in this center is a place of peace, healing and support. I came to Harvard Square Community Acupuncture to manage daily panic attacks brought on by PTSD. Thanks to the incredible effectiveness of both affordability and practice, I am now on my way toward happiness and much needed rest. The space is absolutely wonderful. I was a little skeptical about trying a community setting, especially given the sensitivity of what was bringing me there to begin with. But after my first visit, I knew I'd stumbled upon a hidden gem because everyone was so relaxed and respectful of each other's treatment. I've found it to be a beautiful exchange of collective healing. I also cannot recommend Dalit enough. Not only is she exceptionally professional and kind, but she really pushes herself to acquire the whole picture. It's very difficult to find a practitioner who wants to connect with you on a spiritual level; to get to know your story along with your desired outcomes. At the beginning of each session, Dalit sits down and discusses the extent of my anxiety that week, if there were any triggering episodes, and if there's anything else I'd like to focus on during our time together. As a survivor of trauma, it's incredibly uplifting to be working with someone who truly cares about consent and communication. Beyond that, she also has a fabulous sense of humor and never fails to make me laugh! Finally, this practice is definitely LGBTQ-friendly. Dalit welcomes you into a safe space to be your most authentic self, and it is so greatly appreciated. I've been coming here weekly for about 6 weeks, and I feel like a whole new person. I found this clinic walking into Harvard Square a week ago, and was delighted to find Community Acupuncture in the area! The space is super clean, peaceful, and bright, with a nice waiting room (with purified water, tea, etc) and 2 rooms for treatment. Dalit is kind, sweet and warm, and an absolute expert at putting the needles in-- not a drop of pain or discomfort. Like many, I am phobic of needles, and Dalit understood perfectly. She is right there if you need her (super important) but totally leaves you space to relax and just take in the treatment. Such a wonderful spot. I've been coming here for five weeks, and already am finding relief from frequent, often intense migraine headaches. The space is serene, warm, and welcoming. There are three tables and a few recliners, and it's nice to have the choice of where to be. I've been seeing Mira and Dalit, and both are really wonderful. Needing a near-by acupuncture clinic with an experienced licensed practitioner for relief of my strong hip and shoulder pain, I checked out Harvard Square Community Acupuncture clinic on Mass Ave near Bow St soon after it opened. HSCA is a sparkling clean, peaceful, well-run, sunny, welcoming, tastefully decorated home-like clinic that is run by a very knowledgeable and compassionate professional, Dalit Waller. Online scheduling was simple, with several email reminders sent. For my appointment, I took one of many buses that go to the Harvard Sq. T stop and walked 2 blocks. Dalit made sure that she knew exactly what my current problems are and treated me accordingly, covered me with blankets, and let me entirely relax on a comfortable lounge chair, listening to soothing subtle music and environmental sounds. A generally tense person, I was very relaxed and in less pain within minutes. I still feel that way a day later. If you want skilled treatment by a compassionate professional at a good rate, I highly recommend HSCA on Mass Ave. Another great benefit of going to HSCA is that there are many great places to eat, have coffee, shop, and browse book that are steps away! read more

What is there to say? Dalit's practice is new, but she's by no means new to the scene, as an old-timer at Union Square Acupuncture, which was in my proverbial backyard when I lived there, and I visited regularly. Dalit has since moved on to establish her own practice at her beautiful, airy, spacious, unique new space on Massachusetts Ave which is a stone's throw from Harvard Square (This is good and bad. Good in that it's readily red line accessible. Bad in that the Harvard students will quickly find out and I'll actually have to scramble to book an appointment going forward. A key example is the current state of Union a Square Acupuncture. It's now chock full with religious adherents, which is also well-deserved, but just makes it all the more difficult for long time patients like yours truly to book last minute appointments.) That said, I feel that it's my duty to Yelp for Dalit because her new practice deserves some attention and she's a good person and a good acupuncturist and everything in her new practice is consonant with what Union Square Acupuncture offered except with a couple newer cooler things (new blankets, new chairs, lots and lots of fans to move the air around, really nice speakers -- the same I have at home; a dispenser for water/tea and a waiting room with chairs and a shoe rack with complimentary slippers for one's time here, the ability to pay by credit card/square. Comfort in the things, and a comfortable space and a great caring community acupuncturist to boot). I would enjoy watching this take off. And of course, I'll definitely be back -- that is, until Dalit's packed to the point where it takes me a week or longer in advance to book an appointment, in which case, I will be sad.
