Animals get colds and viruses just like people do and it can't always be avoided especially when they are taking in strays and/or uncared for pets. When you adopt an animal you have a responsibility to care for your new pet and should expect to pay for what ever medical ailment and treatment he/she should need immediately following the adoption process. If you can't afford medical care for unexpected medical issues then you shouldn't be adopting a pet. Thank you Richardson Rescue for protecting animals and saving their lives!!! The owner, Janet, said all emails had been sent out. She said to apply for a second time in case there was some glitch or typo. I applied for a second time on 9/12 around 12pm. Given it was a weekend, she said they would process it Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday, 9/15, I again have zero emails. I messaged her on facebook asking what the status was on my second application, and she said that all emails had been sent out. Again, I had zero emails (including in the spam folder) from them. She apologized over messenger and told me to call the next day between 10 and 3:30 and tell whoever answers the phone that Janet said to apply over the phone. Wednesday, 9/16, I called around 12:40 to no answer and left a voicemail. I didn't receive a single call back, so Thursday, 9/17, I called again around 1:30, to no answer. As of 9/19, he's now been taken off the website, I assume adopted. How can you run a rescue, begging for donations and adopters, yet don't answer people who are genuinely interested. What a scam.

The mission is simple "Our People. Our Community. Our Responsibility. We can do this!" What more positive then people of the community uplifting other people in the community! Everyone that works here volunteers their time and you can tell they love what they are doing. Everyone here is greeted and friend and treated with so much dignity. It's such an awesome experience to see! My church Missions and Outreach group hosted a spaghetti lunch. Normally they aren't a able to do good unless a group sponsors it. But they do provide 2 snacks a day. The setup was so easy, everyone there helped us out and we were serving up warm meals in no time. It was such a rewarding experience. If you're looking for a place to volunteer or serve up meals or just spend some time with folks in the community I'd recommend heading over to the ROC!

Class sizes are around 12 children and there are two teachers. The classrooms are sized for the ages of children, are clean and very well equipped. Parents drop off in the morning and each child is logged into a computer as well as with face-to-face teacher contact. Sessions are 5 days a week or three days a week and we presently have a five year old going 5 days and a 2.5 year old on the three week schedule. Children bring their lunches which are consumed in the classroom and the sessions end at 1pm. Parents pick up the children and log them off of the computer system. Yes, this is a Christian school, so Bible stories are use to teach as well as to theme art work and other activities. At the end of each day the children leave with a printed summary of what they did activity wise, and which Biblical references were used. The children also take with them any art project they completed. Teachers are superb. The children love them back and there are no tears about going to school, just the opposite. We have been very pleased and even see behavior changes in the grandchildren from the stand point of please and thank-you, how they relate to other children and to adults. A fine operation.

Children are provided with a variety of nutritious meals and snacks, lesson plans are always fun and educational. The whole facility is very clean, well equipped and beautiful. My daughter has been going here for about a year and has made so many friends, learned so much, has improved her social skills, and absolutely adores her teachers. The teachers are all well trained, love all the students, and make each day so much fun. I can not recommend Playful Cubs Academy enough. It has been a blessing to our family.

There are now two amazing and dedicated women who run the Charlotte playhouse. They are both staff amazing with families, participants and volunteers. Gigi's Playhouse is my happy place. I work with little ones all the way up to adult participants. There is a variety of classes available and more being added all the time. I personally tutor, teach a class called LMNOP (for the little ones) and attend events. There is something for everyone including pregnant women who may have just received a diagnosis. As a volunteer even if you'd rather just do things around the playhouse you can- but being around the participants will draw you right in! All the programs are of no cost to the participants and their families which is amazing. There are fundraisers and the staff gets a lot of grants. My favorite things is watching the parents connect as they attend classes with their children or family members and chat at events. Please go check it out for yourselves, or at least give them a call, and make your own judgement, you won't regret it.

Pros: - The classrooms here are bigger than other daycares in the area - Flexible drop off and pick up times - Offers breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the kids included in tuition - Some of the staff like the assistant director and teachers are great Cons: - Staff shortages especially in the infant room. There are times when the ratio goes beyond the state mandated 1 to 5 - Tuition increases, multiple times in a year - Teachers are supposed to send 2 pictures per day per student. On average we would get 2-3 pictures per week. - Incident reports (reports to parents when child gets hurt) were no longer sent home to us. Our child came home with a quarter sized raw scape on her knee without any report. - Outdated security measures and check in - Director is not properly trained and does not do her job well. She did not treat parents fairly and would not respond to emails sent multiple times For the price you pay $1400 a month, you will find newer facilities that just opened in the area with updated security measures, cameras, much better student to teacher ratios, and quality management.

Basically my son attended the Gateway on Mallard when he was 1 and I gave that location 1 star and left a detailed review. I was shocked! During the 7 months my son was enrolled in the Mallard location he had 7 different teachers! That location was awful. The only reason he was there that long was because I had to wait for a spot to open at kids r kids. But I was still willing to give this chain a chance based on all the 5 star reviews the Whitehall location recieved on google. However, since this chain penalizes parents and children for leaving honest reviews on bad experiences, I have to question whether all the positive feedback on this location are authentic. I am thankful they exposed their true colors before my son could be enrolled. Thank goodness for freedom of speech!
