Firstly, the business telephone number comes up as "out of service" more than half of the time. But sometimes it went thru to voice mail. I persisted and eventually I got thru to him and I put in the order. Then, after visiting his shop several days later to pickup up the project, nothing was done. I was the owner's cell number by an employee. He said he'd have it done the next day, which didn't happen. I've spent two weeks leaving meassages on two separate phone numbers. Now several weeks later, I finally got the parts.

Their estimate was fair, the schedule we asked for was intense, but Al Lowe and his team finished on time, on budget with exceptional quality workmanship! Truth be told, their project was completed a day early. Al also had to work with our painting contractor and meticulously worked with them to weave all aspects of our kitchen renovation together. The trades who work with Al, as well as Al's team members have been working together for years and years and it shows. Top notch and first class the whole way!!! Would recommend Al Lowe Construction to everyone with a job large or smal, they even did a great job of cleaning up when finished.

Scott also replaced some of the wood framing that had rotted over the years, and rebuilt the shed doors. Great, professional job, and no leaks during the rain. Scott is very personable and knowledgeable about many areas of home repair. Highly recommended.

I hired MW Mason Construction to modify a cabinet for a farmhouse sink. What should have been a…read morestraightforward job turned into a nightmare. His team took my cabinet doors to their shop and did not return them for the entire duration of the painting work. When I asked in advance whether my painters coming would be a problem, I was told no, but the doors came back bare and unpainted after my entire kitchen had already been painted. When I raised the issue and offered two reasonable solutions, both were refused without discussion. Matt never provided a written contract despite California law requiring one for jobs over $500. When I attempted to resolve the $250 dispute directly -- multiple times, in writing -- he filed a small claims lawsuit instead. I live in Northridge. The case was filed in Ventura County. I had to arrange childcare, drive to Oxnard, and spend an entire day in court over a dispute that could have been resolved with one phone call he never made. The case settled in mediation. Between the additional painting cost, the gas, the childcare, and the day lost, I spent far more resolving this than the $250 I was disputing in the first place. If you hire this contractor: get a written contract, get everything in writing, and get a clear timeline for return of any materials they take off site. I learned all of this the hard way.

The team was initially quick to respond and came out to review the scope of our project and asked good questions to understand our goals and scope of the work. They appeared to have good ideas and options to get creative with solutions for what we wanted to achieve with the project. After the first meeting we didn't hear back on a quote, and after following up they said they needed more details to prepare a proper quote so we scheduled more time. They missed the second appointment so we rescheduled and got them back through for a second look. After walking them through the project scope again and answering some new follow up questions we were optimistic we'd be able to move to the next phase. We weren't hearing back from them so after a couple weeks, we followed up with their office and they let us know that they're still working on a quote and would have it by end of day. One week later still no quote. Finally I got a call from Eagle pride telling me that they've decided they don't wanna work on our project citing that they aren't able to get one of their subcontractors available to quote a key part of the project. Throughout the process, we've been flexible on timelines, patient throughout the missed appointments and poor communication. We understand that contractors are busy and they can't always bid on a project, but it would have been nice to know that before waiting 6 weeks. We can't speak to the quality of the work that Eagle pride does, but l see these missed appointments, the slow communication, and abandoning the project entirely after dragging us along as red flags. I hope others have an easier time working with them, but felt compelled to share my experience.
