I've been going here for years because the place is clean and the staff is friendly for the most part. When I make an appointment it's not honored with my manicurist and I have to still wait. Anytime my nails take more than 20 minutes to do, the owner gets up in arms about it. I went to get my nails done by Chris religiously twice per month. On multiple occasions Chris was not there when I showed up for my appointment, and I was told by her staff to come back in an hour because Chris has "car troubles." I came back an hour later and Chris was working on another customers nails and greeted me by stating that she had 2 appointments in front of me and I would have to wait to which her staff responded that I had an appointment at 10am which she was not there for. Chris took me next and did not offer any apology. Instead she told me that "she was up until 6 am watching a show and didn't wake up in time to make it to work." This is the owner of the salon people! She also told me she was going to do a design on my nails with new glitter gel she received that week, which consisted of one line on 2 nails and she had the audacity to charge me 15 dollars extra. Let's now discuss the countless times that my gel polish bubbled up because Chris did not leave my hands under the lamps long enough. When I mentioned the issue, I was cut off mid sentence and told that "this is normal" and she proceeded to put a second coat over the bubbled up polish. Her staff could not believe how wet the gel polish was when she was removing it with the electric file 2 weeks later and told me that I should definitely say something to Chris. I gave her multiple chances, and kept returning for far too long. I have talked to numerous people who have had similar sentiments about the owner of this establishment. Chris seriously needs to learn how to treat her customers if she wants to continue a successful business. read more

I went to this nail salon with higher expectations then when i left. I asked for a simple black French tip which i believe every salon should have skill in. When my nails were getting done i had two ladies try to attempt the nails, i will say they were very sweet and kind to me that was not the issue. My nails were not done well to what i would expect a simple French tip would look like and to top it off they began to peel the second i got home. I had went back for a refund and they refused to give me any sort of compensation. They offered to redo them, however if they could not do it the first time i did not want to waste my time waiting for the same result. Again these women were very nice and the place was very clean, but the nail job was horrible and the quality of the nails was even worse. The first picture you see below is what i asked for and the pictures following is what i received. I was very nice the whole time and didn't complain once but what i asked for was very simple and it took two different woman to achieve what you see below and it shouldn't have been that way. Had a pedicure done today, the guy who did my pedicure did not know what he was doing unfortunately for me. My toes have sharp edges and did not clean the skin around the nails or push back the cuticles. I have been going here for years and this is not the first time I have had bad outcomes. I love Chris's! I don't necessarily like chris the owner to do my nails. I much rather have ken her brother do my nails! He's so good at what he does! He does your nails so efficiently! Ken keeps up good conversation and is funny! With him you barely even notice how long you're there, which is barely ever long. Anytime I go somewhere else I feel like I'm cheating on them and on myself for not going there in the first place. You are wasting money not going there! A fill is $35 a full set is $40. When they do acrylic they use a gel top coat. Their nails last 3 weeks if you aren't too aggressive with your nails. 2 weeks if you are aggressive. They use airbrush for French manicure. Their French manicure is really good! I wouldn't go anywhere else! I have all my friends going here for their nails! I wouldn't go anywhere else! P.S. Chris Nails was recommended by a friend so upon that recommendation I made an appointment for a set of sculpted gel nails. Upon my arrival I explained the type of nails I wanted, unfortunately there was a miscommunication and the tech was not doing what I asked for, when I stopped him he became visibly annoyed and called the owner Chris over and complained to her in his language not English. (I find this incredibly rude and disrespectful). So I explained again to Chris the owner what I wanted and she was very rude as well and told me it was my fault for not explaining better and that it was to late for the sculpted gel nails I asked for so I agreed to let her do it with the tips with and a gel overlay. I will not go back to this establishment for the fill as I believe they need more English speaking employees to avoid this type miscommunication. OMG do not go here these people gave me the worst infection by using dirty tools after he finished my set, he went to another woman and didn't sanitize after the guy had cut me! Something went wrong somewhere along the lines - Chris (the owner) is wonderful at what she does, and for the most part is friendly and attentive and will always fix something is your unhappy or if she feels like its not good enough- My complaint is that she doesnt really buy new products or colors- A few months ago she brought her brother in to work with her -hes such an aroggant, pushy, cranky man. And I cant be certain but Im fairly sure that he isnt licensed to do nails- I wanted a Gel Manicure(a 3o$ service)- there was no manicure about it- he took my old nail polish off- which he made sure to make rude and inappropriate comments about- since it was done elsewhere. He proceeded to "paint' my nails- hardly any filing- no pushing back cuticles- meanwhile the polish was thick and gouppy and running everywhere- rather than fixing the two nails- he just threw more polish on them, leaving only two nails CLEARLY two shades different than the other 8- and never sealed the tops- so within a few days the polish cracked and peeled- There are also two younger american girls working at the salon, that I can gather from their conversations also do not have licenses- On two seperate occassions they have been there LEARNING how to wax or do nails- If someone is putting hot wax on me- or playing with my nails id like them to be licensed to do so- Overall the young girls are glued to each others hips and will have personal and inappropriate conversations in front us customers. Then, a guy started my manicure and as I sat there I noticed how dirty everything around me was--- thick dust on EVERY item. My daughters and I have tried Chris over and over through out the years, and it's all come back to me why we stopped. I've been out of the routine of regular mani/Pedi's and I was excited to give there another chance since it's 3 minutes away from my house and maybe I could find my one go to technician. So, I went yesterday. First, let me say although I am very happy with my manicure, I am sure it was given by no more than a 10 year old little boy. Chris' son? Child labor laws? It was extremely unnerving to not know what I was going to wind up with. Someone else let me leave with a pedicure worse than I could ever give myself. My toe nails were shaped and filed no differently than when I walked in and whoever I had was far more interested in looking outside at the rain and watching the news than paying attention to my feet. I had to stop talking to her because she would literally have to stop what she was doing to converse and she was already moving in slow motion, which would have been fine if she was doing a perfect job. I asked that the callous skin on parts of my heels and side of my foot be shaved off, but she assured me there was nothing there after my feet had been soaking for awhile. You actually have to PAY $2 for those standard little spa flip flops everyone gives for free, but they will send you off with a thin paper sleeve on your foot, so that's what I had to wear out to my car in the pouring rain. When I got home and dried my feet off, my heels were as yellowed and hard and looked as cracked as when I walked in. So disappointing - please please save your time and money. If you choose to ignore this review and decide to find out for yourself, just know Chris will have you on full blast speaker phone when you call to make an appointment. This place is different than any other nail salon in New Jersey! Nowhere else can compete with this salon's cleanliness and level of professionalism. They don't "bark" at you like many other places. Fluent in English, the employees and the owner (Chris) work with you to achieve what exactly it is you need. They offer many services from a regular pedi to their deluxe spa pedicure!!! Stopped in this place when i went to grab cash for my pet sitter because I was going out of town. I decided a little eyebrow waxing couldn't hurt. Waited 10 minutes, then a woman came out,and slathered TONS of wax on my eyebrows to pull very few hairs. This wasn't the worst part. I opened my wallet to pay the 9 dollar charge,and she saw the wad of pet sitter cash in my wallet. She said can you pay cash? I see cash. Without explaining the whole situation,I just asked if they took cards,and she replied yes but over 10$. I said fine,give yourself a 5 dollar tip (which is more than generous for a 9 dollar -10 second wax)and charge my card 14 dollars. She proceeded to pretend that my card was being declined! I saw her press "cancel" after every swipe. I finally threw 9 dollars at this woman and left. No tip. I will NEVER GO BACK to this dishonest and shabby salon. What a great place to go and get pampered! I have been going to Chris's now for a couple of months now for pedicures and waxing! Today was the first time doing my nails and they did an amazing job on both nails and toes! I didn't feel like I was rushed at all! I have to disagree with the last post about inappropriate talk in front of customers, the two (American) girls made me feel great and had a wonderful convo with me! I went for my first pedicure today. This was an amazing experience! I felt very awkward going in. Everyone was friendly and professional. John did such an awesome job. My nails look so beautiful. The foot and leg massage almost put me to sleep. The chair also massages you while you're getting your treatment. I was so impressed with my pedicure that I also got a manicure. I made an appointment for my two daughters (one for a pedicure and one for a mani/pedi). I called for the appointment two weeks prior to the date and requested a time. They booked the appointment without question. We showed up to the salon 10 minutes early and the employee who had the key to open the business did not arrive until 15 minutes after the time they were supposed to open (and 15 minutes after our appointment). When we went in it was very busy. The girls each picked their colors and the owner(?) asked if we could go run errands and come back in an hour or so. WHAT? I told her I made the appointment two weeks prior and that if the time I selected was not okay she should have asked me to change it then. I told her she'd need to honor the appointment and take the girls or we would not come back. She told me I didn't need to get "nasty" (nice way to talk to a customer) and she said "okay I'll take them now". I didn't like how she spoke to me or her attitude. I did not trust that the girls would have a good experience and that they would even do a good job after the confrontation so we left. I would have rated this business a zero if I could have. As a service business you do arrive late, accept appointments if there is no availability and then blame your customer for getting upset when you ask them to leave and return at a later time (what an inconvenience - this is what appointments are for). I will not return to this business and I certainly will not recommend this business. read more
