I didn't know, so that's why I am very grateful for Wendy for delivering the news and for the honest staff at CMA.

A friend recommended this shop to me. So, took my baby (Jeep Renegade; std transmission; ~8yrs old)…read morein twice as planned - for BIG items and oil changes. Finally, a shop that helps me plan/ budget. See reasons why they are now "my place" 1. Got my vehicle back from two planned services - BIG items. The identified problems were FIXED and NO unexpected new issues over the past ~6 mths drive time since the 1st repair was done and ~2 wk since 2nd repair done (but lots of mile - couple of road trips, lol). 2. Their bumper-to-bumper inspection is detailed in a an online report (pics; vids; descriptions). It identifies critical issues (fix now); concerns (fix to prevent bigger issues); consider (future items). The report helped me to plan/ budget the repairs. 3. After asking for the full report, they provided even though they knew I might have sticker shock which I did. They patiently walked me through and answered my many questions via the phone, and let me take time to decide on options: keep/invest or trade in. The report allowed me to consider new vehicle (prices/longterm commitment) vs. the one-time fixes. With a shop that truly fixes the problem and no unexpected new problems, am keeping my baby; well that and she is fun to drive, lol. 4. The online report/ front office staff (Connor; Averie) are able to keep up with my extremely busy work schedule; are genuinely professionally patient with a non-mechanical person (me); if they didnt know the answers they asked the mechanics and got back to me quickly which provided insights on the repair options and then let me decide what works for me/ my budget/ my future plans. ...Again, this shop is now "my place".

Not too much to complain about here. They have good prices and are swift. I only had a state…read moreinspection done since they didn't have the oil I needed for the car I drive. I will say the oil my car uses is a little particular as it's high mileage, full synthetic so I give them a pass there on short notice. The staff definitely had some personality, which I liked, but could see how others may see it as not professional. For me though, I'm more concerned with the end result and how fast it's done, which this place did a great job of. Overall, if you're looking for more simple work to be done on your car like an inspection or an oil change, I definitely recommend this place as they'll have you in and out in no time; however, I'd recommend somewhere else if you're looking for more deep repairs.

They did a horrible job I'm not sure what they did to ruin my car but apparently they didn't put any oil back in it they didn't even change the oil filter it was the same old nasty one and I paid them almost $100 for a full synthetic oil change only to get my beautiful car destroyed. They do not want to take any responsibility they are denying all responsibility but a nice new low mileage car does not have the motor go out 10 minutes after getting an oil change. This is really seriously devastating to my life I can't get to work the pain the anxiety the $7,000 of damage they did to my car this it should be criminal they should go to jail for what they did to my car

Highlands Auto Center - Thermostat labor of what it should be.

To everyone reading this, please avoid this shop and shops like this. I am writing for someone that…read morerecently went to this shop to get a so called diagnosis on her vehicle. Concern was check engine light and smoke coming from under the hood. So to start off I'm a mechanic and when I got this call for help I couldn't believe what I was hearing...$1200 to replace a radiator on an old 2003 Lexus. And on top of that to add an insult to injury they quoted another 2.5 hours to replace the radiator hoses which is apparently $585 of labor and parts. Oh and get this, another hour of work for adding the coolant into the vehicle.....so like you don't do that when you replace the radiator????? From the beginning this whole thing smelled of scam and guess what I was right in thinking that. Then they tell her her thermostat is bad....how do they know.....who knows maybe they did testing? Nope they just told her it was bad and quoted 2.5 hours which is $750 on top of everything else quoted. The thermostat calls for 1.4 hours of labor and yes I understand it's in a different area and all but gosh I can't help but think my conscience would scream at me for trying to quote someone $1200, $585, $750, and $385 and not try to help with cost. Wow. My problem is these shops exist out here either knowingly scamming or unknowingly just bad at their jobs and are incompetent. But anyway no indication of what the check engine light was on for, no information on what they did to diagnose it or any expectations set for her to understand what's going on. So what was the technicians diagnosis...radiator was leaking at the top seal and any person can see that. I'm sure they didn't pressure test based on the track record of saying the thermostat was bad without checking. But back to the story. I received the car after she paid for the so called diagnosis fee which who knows what that's all about because doesn't say any information or a story on how they diagnosed anything, then started on working on the radiator, I literally timed myself and it took 15min to pull the radiator out....removed the top covers, removed the support beam, the radiator isn't even bolted to the condenser....15 mins guys. I don't know what kind of things yall are smoking....transferred over the upper and lower radiator hoses not for another 2.5 hours and transferred over the temp sensor which took another 20min to do. Then another 15 min to install radiator and then top off the coolant and burp the system another 5 min. Sooo all this is under the 1.4 all dats time to do. And they wanted to charge 5.5 hours. I have no idea where in their right mind they thought 5.5 hours was acceptable to quote. Now Iet me tell you guys something, in my head I told myself when she gets here I'm going to ask what did they say to you when you said I'm going to pay the so called diagnosis fee and take the car because it's too expensive. And in my mind I told myself watch she's going to tell me that they tried to lower the prices and give a discount by waiving the diagnostic fee which is laughable. How can you charge a diagnostic if you leave without using information on the check engine light and or the leaks. Well clearly the radiator is leaking but where does that diag fee go to? The person who's going to respond to this is going to say well it goes to the tech to pay for his time to look at the car. Yea yea my butt, I've been in this industry for 15 years and all my notes for every single car has pictures and exactly what I checked down to the pressure I used on the cooling system to check for leaks. Everything is documented and if a car comes in we can look at the history of what was done previously. That's because we notate exactly what's going on. If a car comes in with a check engine light I take a picture of it and upload it and attach it to the multipoint inspection so we can have a record of what the light is. Oh and that's not diagnostic labor that's just looking at what the light says. Actual diagnosis is checking the circuit, checking the module or solenoid or running test on evap components or smoking the intake for leaks and pressure testing the cooling system and having a full formed conclusion. Condition, cause, correction and confirmation is a full formed conclusion of diagnosis which if this was done I wouldn't have had an issue paying $120 for a diag. Shame on you guys and other shops like this. Shame shame shame!!! Im appalled at what you guys did and to the person working for this shop trying to respond to this, there is no response, there is nothing you can say. The sheet says it all, I have receipts and proof. You cannot come at me and say all the responsive garbage you say to other customers who have a bad experience. I've read your posting responses. All you need to feel is shame and fix yourselves, apply better fundamental values and progress from this caveman style of automotive repair. You wrote down the quote on a piece of blue paper for God sakes!
