Went on a first date here. I'd say something like this are good for dates where you're cooking, talking, laughing, and smiling all at the same time vs shoving your mouth down with food at other places. The food here is great and reasonably priced. They give you sauces and salt if you'd like to season your cooked meats. The service is good as well. The waitress kept on coming around refilling the banchan dishes and reordering out meats to cook on the grill. I'd come back here with friends and family. read more

service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I love all the options we had to choose from. I recommend the Tufu spicy soup!

Called ahead cause we were a party of 13 + 2 kids and other places close by had a 1 - 1.5 hour wait. The owner said they had a big party at their largest table but was happy to put our name down for us as we were still like 30 minutes out. It was perfect timing cause by the time we got there that party had left and they were able to seat us right away! The service was great! We did AYCE and they let us order per grill which was super nice as it made it less complicated and they even had extra tray holders for the meat so we had space to eat. Food was delicious! We ended up getting the classic menu (so the cheaper one) but quality did not suffer. There was good fat to meat ratio (as sometimes too many cheap places give you only fatty pieces). I also loved that they had galbi and it was sooo flavorful! It's marinated with the perfect sauce. They also had rice paper and radish paper which I like to have when doing AYCE kbbq. Would recommend !! read more

Great meat with an exceptionally good price! Stayed here for almost two hours lol! Service was good and so was the food.

So it's definitely not my top 5 KBBQ places to eat it, but if you're looking for something in the area, it'll do. Chris Korean BBQ has your typical needs at a KBBQ joint. I think where they missed the mark for me was the fact that they don't have the banchan dishes labeled on the menu, nor the side veggies. I would've really enjoyed some grilled veggies on my grill, but I had to keep asking them what they had. The service was slower than usual. Granted, it was lunch time and they probably didn't anticipate to have this many people during lunch. Also, we are at the height of a pandemic surge right now, so I cut them some slack for that. The meats were pretty good though. For two people on a Saturday at lunch, we ended up spending $90. read more

Still excellent food and service. Their spicy pork BBQ is off the charts. The assortment of sides are always delicious. Parking is still a breeze. My favorite part is that if you don't want to grill your food, they'll do it for you. read more

Chris Korean BBQ - Spicy Park BBQ. - Korean Near Me - Pasadena, California

I should have known I was in trouble when the soup had carrots in it. Chris Korean BBQ left a lot of desire unfortunately when it came to the food. The galbi tang is what I normally get at Korean restaurants when I travel and this one missed the mark. It was extremely bland and not very tasty. On the bright side, service was great. Everyone was quick and attentive. The restaurant was also nice and clean. I didn't care much for the loud rap music however. read more

We were in the Pasadena area and craving kbbq so we decided to give this place a try instead of trekking to Ktown. They have a limited amount of free parking spaces in their back lot or there is free 2 hr street parking. Both seem to fill up fairly quickly around dinner time on this weekday night, however, this parking situation is definitely more ideal than LA Ktown. We opted for the AYCE classic option which was about $38 per person. This is the most bang for your buck compared to the set options or individual meat plates/combos. There is another AYCE option above this one with a few more items to choose from, but realistically speaking we cannot eat THAT much anymore to utilize all those choices lol. You can order up to 3 types of meat at a time and they will automatically bring you banchan (which they will refill upon request for no extra charge). You can also order as much salad, rice, steamed egg, spicy soybean soup, and Korean pancake as you wish as it is also included. Drinks are not included - soft drinks are $2.99 and non refillable as they will bring you a can and a cup of ice. Staff are all English speaking and considerate but not as experienced/fast as other kbbq places (i.e., you will likely have to ask for a grill change instead of them automatically changing it out when it has been smoking for some time burning marinade that inevitably gets stuck on after cooking a couple orders of meat.). Reason for only three stars is due to a piece of plastic that we found in the kimchi as well as the food overall. After telling our server about the plastic, we were brought a new dish of kimchi but tbh, I couldn't trust it anymore and also found myself being more cautious about eating each item. I am currently 9 months pregnant so I got a bit extra paranoid. To our surprise, unlike other restaurants in our experience, nothing (like a drink or extra dish) was comped in attempt to make up for it. Banchans and other sides were good, but not great. We were pretty disappointed with the pork belly which we had saved to be our last order of meat. Pork belly is a kbbq staple and tends to be very rich and fatty, however, this cut of pork belly became super tough when grilled. As in hard to the point where my man cut the roof of his mouth eating it. read more

First time here and will definitely come back! By far the best KBBQ spot I've ever had! The sides were amazing. I would drive here to get it again! 10/10 would recommend read more

The food was amazing! No wait time staff very friendly and professional. Service was fast and efficient! Quality!

Why eat at Chris Korean BBQ? Well first of all if you do live in Pasadena and you love KBBQ then you definitely have to check this spot out! I've been coming here for a few years now and it gets better! I went last Friday and it was my best experience overall. They also have outdoor sitting so if you do like drinking a cold beer like me then you should try sitting outside to enjoy the breeze and have a different view. Not only is the food fresh but you can't go wrong with the AYCE menu considering that every spots in Korea town went up in price. I also want to thank Max for the great service. He was on point and always there when we needed anything. As a regular client I will be back shortly. Thanks guys! read more

Average AYCE KBBQ spots. Quality of the meat isnt bad and price is comparable to other locations. There are definitely better KBBQ spots out there but not bad for the price and convenience on where it's located. read more

Wow what a big disappointment. We live down the street and always wanted to try this kbbq. First when we were seated at the booth there were so many flies and fruit flies!!! Our table was the only one that had it and when we brought it to the attention of the waiter she said it's because the morning shift leaves the door open! There were flies on our side dishes and pretty sure on our meats. Imagine trying to eat and hitting the flies away!!! Secondly the meat quality is not even premium for 45.99 that's ridiculous. I've had cheap kbbq and quality was way better than here. Skip on the brisket, beef belly was the only thing good. Shrimp was horrible, and pork belly and bulgogi were decent. Steamed egg and pancake was good. Kimchi, bean sprouts and cucumbers were the best side dishes. Overall I wouldn't come back. Service was ok, ambiance was dirty and meats weren't great. read more

The other day I was in Pasadena and was looking for a lunch spot. I went on Yelp and found Chris's Korean barbecue. I thought to myself I have to come try this place out. Oh my God the service was amazing. It was all decked out for Halloween and looked so cool. Inside the food was delicious the meat, the short ribs, the beef tongue, everything, and the sides the Kii, the potato salad, the pasta salad. Everything here was amazing. This place is really good. I definitely will be back next time. I am in Pasadena. read more

We brought my husband here as a spur of the moment Father's Day lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the fair pricing and quality of service. We had a short 20 minute wait since it was bus and were seated at a communal style table with 2 other parties. It became crowded when all 3 different parties had their meats and sides brought so it was a slightly uncomfortable trying not to grab or bump the other parties items. The staff is fast, tentative and helpful. Our waitress checked on us a reasonable amount to make us feel like she was on top of our orders. They offer Soju lemonade in pitchers and beer as well if you're looking for an alcoholic beverage. For 36.99 we couldn't go wrong with all the food that we received. if you have anything against stuffy atmospheres this place may be a little rough, it can get smokey and stuffy very quickly. read more

Consistently great quality food and very good overall value for your money compared to many other AYCE KBBQ establishments. The service at Chris' is great and the staff is attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

This place is the closest Korean place around, so from that perspective, it's good. As compared to other Korean places, it really lacks flavor. The food is very sweet and not very authentic. The side dishes are good though. They provided cucumber, kimchi, and fish cake. My friend ordered the bento box with salmon and it was just a few pieces. The other friend ordered the pork belly and it was so hard that she couldn't bite into it. Disappointed. read more

For the Pasadena residents who just wanted some KBBQ on the days you looked at the traffic in K-Town and said, "Nope." Is this the best AYCE KBBQ in 626 (Which is not saying much)? No. Is this the cheapest AYCE KBBQ in 626? Also no. But, if you live near PCC, they are close by, easy to get to, and there's lots of street parking. The meat is not bad for the price. The staff are friendly and accomodating. They also have lots of outdoor seating with heaters and awnings as well as big tables: great for big groups and diners who prefer lots ventilation. If you have a big group, calling even 15 min. in advance is always a good idea. read more

Parking: They have a small parking lot available behind the building. Street parking is also an option. Food: overall I would give it a 8/10. Disappointed with the spicy bulgogi. Service: Fast, friendly, and attentive. Ambiance: Plenty of tables available for small or large parties but I think they should close the back door. Flies were entering which ruined the ambiance. Thanks! read more

Party of 2. Essentials: 2 tongs and scissors. extra plate for cooked meats, fat cube with onion, classic banchans but not your typical macaroni salad (we like)and better looking meats. We ordered the pork jowl, thinly sliced pork belly, and brisket our first round. Large intestine with marinade. Love this one! Flavorful and not as chewy!! Dippoing sauces - spicy, salt flakes, brown? , brown jalapeno? Salad - dressing on side Negatives - thick rice paper, salty/lightly condensed bean paste soup, Adjustable vent? We couldn't see one another so had to sit on the side read more

On a Sunday afternoon in late November. I came here for lunch with my family. We arrived at 11:30am and got seated right away in a booth. The waiter was nice and served us water and banchan items-potato salad, kimichi, cucumber kimichi, plum kimichi, Korean pancake, rice. Next we decided on AYCE classic $35.99 includes ribeye steaks. We picked pork belly, ribeye steak, bulgogi and it arrived right away. We all took turns cooking the meat ourselves. The fire was slow at first then got better when the plate was warmed up. My favorite meat was the ribeye steak because it was tender and yummy. The pork belly was good too. We got 31/2 servings of meat to get our moneys worth. The 2 servers got busy once more people came in at 12 noon. Overall good service and good quality of meats. They also have tents in the back too. I forgot to mention, not smokey with very good filters. read more

Decent place outside of k-town. Quality of meat is good. Has both indoor and outdoor seatings.

My kids and I were in the mood for some Korean BBQ and did not feel like driving so decided to give this place a try. I am glad that we did. The establishment is clean, spacious and organized. This is an all you can eat so we were a little skeptical going in regarding quality. Luckily, everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and flavorful. The meat cuts were not overly fatty or chewy. They had a nice selection of both spicy and non spicy proteins to choose from. Overall, we liked it and would come back to dine again. read more

This place is so legit. I have lived in LA my entire adult life. Like a lot of people, I started in K-Town. My wife grew up in K-Town (born + raised). When we moved to Pasadena, at first, we drove to K-Town for Korean food. Luckily, we went to Chris' KBBQ and found a place that has SUPER SOLID Tofu Soup that we can get delivered HOT at home!! We do this at least once or twice a month. The other dishes and banchan are also top notch. Even the lettuce, produce, and other veggies are so fresh. This is a really good spot, which is pretty rare in Pasadena for proper Korean food that is not ONLY BBQ. KBBQ is great but I also like the different varieties of non BBQ dishes. Chris' has a good balance. Delivery or Dine-In, this is a good spot. read more

My daughter absolutely LOVES Korean bbq!! For me I'm just meh...so I would've given it a 3 but she will give a 5 so I'll error in the middle with a 4. Service is good. Food comes out good. I've been following this place on instagram for a while and finally decided to try it out. Popped in with a party of 4 on a Saturday at about 1pm. It wasn't too busy, but it seems like they were probably understaffed, because they were seating different parties at the same table together (after asking the parties involved if that was okay). We were alright with that, so we ended up at a table next to a solo diner. It took a while for someone to come take our order and there was a longer than usual wait time for meats to come out. Not too bad, but it was a little noticeable compared to the many other KBBQ places I've been to. We also had to ask for rice three times before it came. Had some other appetizers ordered that never came out. Again, I think it had to do with being understaffed. As far as the food, it was good, but overall, nothing to write home about. The bulgogi was the star for me, which is odd because I'm usually pretty indifferent to it. But the flavor was perfect. Sweet, smoky, and delicious. Brisket was also good as it had very little fat, which is always nice. The Korean miso soup was nothing like regular miso soup at all, but it was very tasty. Overall, it was good, but I definitely prefer a few other places to Chris. read more

Went on a Friday night without a reservation and were seated almost immediately. Lots of street parking nearby. Quick and friendly service. Decent spread of banchan, good salad. Meat quality was just okay, to be expected at this price point for AYCE but still a little disappointing. In order of best to worst, galbi, pork jowl, ribeye = joomuluk, brisket (sad as chadolbaegi is usually one of my favorites!) I would probably only get the galbi again even though the marinade was too sweet. Really wanted this place to be good as Pasadena is in dire need of more Korean restaurants but guess the drive to ktown is worth it after all for great kbbq. read more

Went here for a work dinner, because the closest Gen's was 40 mins away (1 hour 15 mins in LA Traffic). We were seated right away, and I ordered were taken right away. The service was good enough. But the food was average or slightly less than that. It was a bit disappointing.

A little sketchy from the outside, the no windows gives it a hole in the wall bar kinda look. Looks are deceiving though. The host was very friendly and attentive to our wait. The menu has many options, the vegetable pancake, great side dish. Although they were understaffed, they were at our table side very promptly. read more

its a hole in the wall type restaurant, despite it being on a busy street like colorado blvd. the meats are pretty good quality. i love that they give you a big chunk of beef fat to use to season your grill as you cook the meats ive never been to places to offer that. our server was also great, i believe his name was Jeff. will def be back when the craving hits again read more

I usually go to ktown when I'm craving kbbq, but my friends convinced me to give Chris a try. The food here is good and definitely satisfied my kbbq craving and saved 20 minutes on the drive. The service here could be a little better. When I came it took forever for someone to even talk to me to get seated and there were plenty of tables available. Sometimes it look a little extra effort to get things on our table refilled. Overall pretty good though, I would come here again. read more

Last night I visited Chris Korean BBQ and it was the best I have had. The location was not smokey as most Korean bbq restaurants I have been to are. The portions were so generous and the price was so reasonable. Our server was Tess and she was so attentive to our needs. I will ask for her when I return. The restaurant is quiet and so pleasant. They had televisions if you wanted to watch sports. I highly recommend getting their Miso soup. Some of the best I have had. read more

The food is so so good. This is definitely one of the best places I've been to for Korean bbq in a while!!
