If I could give them zero stars I would! We showed up at 9pm on a Friday night and they had absolutely nothing to eat. My daughter had one scoop of rice. I had 4 pieces of sushi and my husband and son split a plate of macaroni. They then proceeded to charge us $50. The manager then told me "We stop cooking for the buffet at 9." Yet their sign clearly says 9:30. Don't waste your money here. Honestly every other time we have been here the food has been mediocre and very little left as well. read more

The food and the amount of food choices was good but the service was TERRIBLE. They don't check if you need more to drink and when they don'thear what you are speaking clearly to them and they ring up your order wrong, they refuse to correct it. Your average Chinese American cuisine. I see a lot of critical reviews but honestly it is good food for a reasonably cheap price. If you come in expecting to be knocked off your feet with amazing food, service and overall experience, you will be greatly disappointed. For other like restaurants in the area, this one has a greater selection and nicer atmosphere. Only draw back is if you are coming in to get take out, I would recommend going some where else. I give this restaurant four stars based upon the quality of food and atmosphere at the time of my dinner. Dinner was $10.99, by far a few Dollars cheaper than usual Chinese buffets I've eaten at. The only complaint I have is how the Snow Crab legs stopped coming out at 8pm. The restaurant closed at 9pm. If you're like me and love lo mein, their noodles are the round type like spaghetti. I prefer the traditional flat style. Ice cream was a scoop yourself style; susceptible to dirty hands making contact with the ice cream. Our waiter was very annoying and did not let my family eat in peace. He would come to the table every few minutes and start small talk and then would just stand there next to our table staring. Waited for this restaurant to have their Grand Opening and they finally did. My wife and I had waited for Decatur to have an above average Chinese restaurant, and the visit Thanksgiving weekend turned out fine. Went to dinner about 6:30 PM and the place was packed. It is a buffet with a large selection of food typical of other restaurants of this type but the selection of sushi is good as well as the grill makes for great variety. They have a good salad bar and the selection of deserts. The service was fine, but the waiter asked every few minutes if we needed anything. Better than not getting the service. Would recommend trying this restaurant as it is better than the Asian Grill Buffet, probably because of the turnover of food making it fresher. The reason it was rated a 3 was because the restrooms had problems. The toilets were plugged up and had flooded onto the floor and had pumps going. Recommend improving these facilities for the crowds of people and privacy issues in this department. Plan on trying it again soon and will raise my rating if the issues are improved. UPDATE:(changed from 3 to 4 stars) Have visited this place a few more times all different times and no issues. Service great and great variety of food, and fresh. Was so looking forward to meeting friends at Chow King Grill and Buffet for dinner, and it was some of the worst tasting food. They had a shrimp stuffed in a mushroom and it tasted spoiled. The lo-mein was very bland. I did notice that the owner wasn't there, and the food was sub standard at best. Very unhappy. The service however was great. read more

Good food and a nice variety on the buffet. Even plenty to choose from for the non-Chinese eaters in your group. Everything from hot wings to kimchi & octopus. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive and the price is quite reasonable for the selection. Not a standout place, but overall a good place to eat for a good price. read more

Was impressed when it first opened, but must say its having problems lately. Biggest issue is keeping food hot. I've been twice in the last several months and both times food from the "hot" bar was stone cold. I went back today, for one more (final) try - same thing. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt previously, as I had visited right as they opened for lunch - it's conceivable some items hadn't come up to full temp yet on the food bar. But this time I went on a busy Sunday, place was full of church crowd, busy, so no excuse for cold food, but it was a problem again. I'm not talking lukewarm here, I'm talking serious concern about food temp/food poisoning type of cold-ish. In fact, about an hour after lunch today I did indeed get quite ill. I ate Chow King today for the first time in a while. When they first opened it was really good. BAD IDEA. The first red flag should have been that when i received my drink there was something all over the rim of the glass and some of it was on the inside. I take it to a waiter and he just hands me a new cup. I said "no I want a new cup, ice and drink!" I had gotten beef and broccoli, sesame chicken and honey chicken. When i put into the beef something didn't taste right so I immediately spit it out. The honey chicken tasted okay but not the best and the sesame chicken was disgusting. I got to looking where i had bit off a piece of the beef and it didn't look to good. So i looked at the piece I had spit out and it was RAW!! I was so disgusted. I am pregnant so I am thanking God that I didn't ingest it. Needless to say I will not be back and I will be sure to tell everyone I know to not go either. read more

food is ok nothing exceptional. service was not good tonight 7-23-2015 waitress did not refill our glasses of tea at all walked by and got plates once walked by again looking at empty tables and never looked at our table, was my husbands birthday and first time for my mother-in-law not satisfied with service then on the way out guy standing at the front never said thank you come back or anything I feel they do not appreciate that you spend your money with them the sweets are nasty cakes etc. some kind of weird taste I don't know what is being used as a sweetener but it is nasty tasting we can't eat them read more
