Food and service was awesome! Highly recommend! It's a hidden Jem! They also have a patio.

Amazing food and great service. Went there with no knowledge of restaurant and cannot speak highly enough. Best ramen dish and salad ever.

This was the first I've been there since the changeover. It's a big restaurant and they have good food. Today we both had the banquet burger, and it was quite good. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was the best, but it was good. The menu is small, but it offers all the standard comfort food you'd expect from such a place. There were only two other parties dinning in the 40-plus table establishment, and as a result our server was attentive and the food was served quickly. I wonder how that might change if it were busy. I will say that our server was very cheerful and pleasant, which made it a nice experience. Then there was the mystery of the empty bowl. On our table was placed a small, white, ceramic bowl. It was the same as the bowl used to hold the sugar packets for coffee or tea, but this one was empty. I looked around and there was a small, white, empty bowl on every table. I was perplexed. I commented to my father that maybe it was a tip jar. He joked saying that it was empty, so maybe we should go elsewhere. As the meal wore on, I became increasingly worried about the meaning behind this empty bowl. Why was it there? Why a white bowl? Why not green, or brown, or whatever other colour is fashionable for bowls these days? What were we meant to do with it? Did it have a deeper existential meaning? Was it the owners symbolic commentary on the nature of the universe? A view thus imposed on the unsuspecting diner, most of whom would just think; "hey, an empty bowl." My head was spinning. I began to wonder if I was losing my mind. Imagine that, being brought to the brink of sanity (or is that insanity) by the presence of a small, empty, white, ceramic bowl. I again commented on the situation and my father insisted that it was there to hold creamers for those cups of coffee and tee, for which the sugar waited. I was dubious...it didn't make any sense. In the end, I declined to ask the waitress why there was an empty bowl on every table. I figured that the mystery had taken me places I hadn't dreamed possible, and whatever her answer, a mind cannot be un-blown, once it is blown. We gave her a good tip.

Upon entering the restaurant, employees were outside near the rear of the building enjoying a smoke break. Light cigarette butts were disregarded on the concrete, creating safety and health risks. This "smoking area" would certainly benefit from sweeping to become more ascetically pleasing as guests enter the restaurant. Cigarette butts could be disposed of in the standing "ash tray" instead of littering! Very interesting that the house manager informed me that he would speak to the employees; however the manager tossed the cigarette!!! His response was patronizing, deceitful, and even untruthful. Obviously, the manager did not realize that we witnessed HIM tossing a light cigarette, as he refused to acknowledge his own behaviour. Accept responsibility for littering and possibly starting a fire!!! We also waited approximately 10 minutes to speak with the manager when the restaurant was quite empty after 7:30! Misspelled words were written on the outdoor sign advertising promotions/ specials at the restaurant (at Christmas). Franchise needs to improve management! Will not visit this Swiss Chalet location again!!!

We opted for a weekday lunch of discovery menu, where they accommodated me for a vegetarian menu to meet my dietary needs! Bravo! All the seven courses were unique and delicious, and made you full. The drive and location is beautiful. We sat by the window on a snowy day, it was beautiful and romantic. The server introduced himself and was very attentive. The place is good for an intimate conversation or for a group meeting. Has both big round tables as well as cozy seating. Starting from Amuse bushe - which was a dried leaves with some jelly, it was unique and pretty delicious for leaves without any salt or spices, served on the upside down glass. The mushroom was delicious, pretty balanced. My mains had 3 different flavours on roots vegetables with puree of cauliflower, curry spice and carrots. Every bite tasted different. We got a complimentary miniature dessert plate, which was as good as our main dessert! I am going there back for another special celebrations.

The restaurant strikes an ideal balance between fine-dining formality and genuine warmth, helped by live piano music and a calm, elegant room. Food: Dinner began with two appetizers: the Lobster (autumn-spiced lobster, winter squash, Armagnac velouté) and the Ricotta Gnudi with winter truffle. Both were beautifully prepared and set a strong tone for the evening. Between courses, we were served a white truffle risotto, which became one of the standout dishes of the trip -- aromatic, silky, and rich without being heavy. For mains, we ordered the black cod and the venison, each cooked with precision and very well balanced. The meal ended with a maple-forward dessert that fit the season and the setting perfectly. Vibe: The dining room feels intimate and refined without being stiff. The combination of soft piano, candlelight, and the heritage property setting creates a memorable atmosphere. Service: Service was excellent across the board. Staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and thoughtful, and this extended beyond the restaurant -- every person we interacted with on the property carried the same sense of care and professionalism. Overall: Langdon Hall offers one of the best fine-dining experiences in Ontario. The quality of the food, the warmth of the service, and the overall atmosphere make it well worth the trip, whether for a special occasion or simply to enjoy a destination meal.
