I bought a $400 dress that ripped after two wearings. It was a summer dress and didn't realize it was ripped until I pulled it out to wear in summer 2024. I brought in and they told me too bad, too late??? It was over a year. Suggested I call the company myself. This wasn't some cheap dress. I though incorrectly that they would stand behind their merchandise. I have spent at least $ 5,000 between their Rye and Mt Kisco stores and expected to be treated like a valued customer. Did I expect a 400 credit? No. But at least something to recognize the dress was and defective and acknowledge my business. Some kind of credit. I will never shop here again. Be warned.

Beyond personable, I felt like I knew these two lovely ladies forever. I was greeted with a smile immediately when my husband and I walked in the store. I tried on a super cute boot in a size that was a bit too tight. Maria instantly called another store and the boot was in Darien that afternoon. I couldn't ask for better service. Such a breath of fresh air as I did NOT have the same experiences in fellow stores. It's so easy to be nice and these women have it down. Just have to exercise self control and not spend so much money there! Will definitely pop in to say hello when in the neighborhood.

It was never altered; but, they adhered to their policy Best part: the salesgirl offered the alternative of a voucher for the amount, less a 25% restocking fee But, the voucher had to be used within the next two months

Kasey facilitated an analysis of the feet while walking/standing, explained the results, and recommended various options accordingly. My husband tried HOKA, New Balance, and Adidas shoes and ended up having trouble deciding between two. Kasey helped him consider price/appearance to complete his decision! She was also excellent at engaging in conversation and providing informative, friendly service. We were in and out of the store in probably 20 minutes with a new pair of shoes/socks for little over $100! Darien Running Co was an excellent stop during our weekend away from NYC. I highly recommend!

The first two times I came in, the service was great -- helpful, friendly, and attentive. But this last visit was a completely different story. No one greeted us when we walked in. We stood there clearly waiting, but the staff completely ignored us. They were too busy having personal conversations with other people -- not even helping them, just chatting as if it were a hangout spot. One worker spent the entire time stacking shoe boxes and never once looked up or acknowledged us. Not even a "Hey, we'll be with you in a minute." Nothing. We waited patiently, but after about 20 minutes of being completely overlooked, we just walked out. It's one thing to be busy, but this felt like they didn't care at all that we were there. It was rude, unprofessional, and disappointing -- especially considering how good the service used to be. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be coming back. Other running stores actually treat their customers with respect.

Which makes sense because they barely make minimum wage, which is concerning considering how much the owner walks away with year after year. I probably wouldn't be inspired to help customers either. Every year Santa comes and kids line up from across the country to sit on his lap and tell them what they want. In Darien, that could be a new Canada goose jacket (available at DSS) or a new pair of Nordic skis (available at DSS). Maybe even a new Range Rover (not available but DSS can order it). And for the adults who brave the intense December line to catch a glimpse of the big guy, they setup a makeshift bar (no charge of course) with Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, all the fixings. Back to Santa, did I mention this guy is the real deal? He claims that he runs a bird seed shop in the off season, lol. Yea Kringle, I ain't buying it. Tell those elves at the North Pole that the socks you brought me in '94 were bull$#&!. Jk I'm a good boy I take it back.

As a former consignor, they charge a $6 check fee just to write the check even if you choose to pick it up, plus other hidden fees. You have to really look at your statements, and I've had incorrect items returned to me. Other places don't charge fees if you leave payments on a account to put towards purchases, but not here. Owner is always there and is cold and unfriendly. There are better places in the area to give your business to and look for a treasure!
