Today I walked in and checked out their men's running shoes. Picked out an Asics sample shoe and asked the clerk if these came in a wide width. He checked it on his iPhone scanner and said no. He then just walked away. What he should have done, if he had any motivation at all was to see if they had any other Asics running shoes in wide widths, but he didn't because he just didn't care. It pains me to post this, but am doing so with the hope that Corporate is reading these: As MANY others have stated, the store is a mess! I went into a dressing room and had to leave, it was so gross. Shelves by the cash register for impulse buys mostly empty and what was there, was not arranged in an appealing manner. The kicker was asking one cashier where the terry cloth wristband were located. She did not know, so asked her co-worker who, and I quote, "I don't know what those are." This isn't a review of this particular store, but of their online order fulfillment. I would advise anyone reading this not to order anything from their website, unless it is significantly cheaper and you have the patience to work through likely issues. I have only ordered a handful of items from Dick's but on more than half of the orders, I have had significant issues. I ordered a pair of sweatpants because I had Dick's gift card, when the sweatpants arrived one of seams had never been sewn together, creating a large hole in one of the legs. I ordered 4 small items, 2 arrived seperately, so I assumed the other 2 were enroute. After a week, I tracked them and they were supposed to have arrived in one of the other boxes. The worst mistake was a pair of rollerblades we bought for my daughter's birthday. When she opened them I noticed they didn't look new. Taking a closer look, they were nowhere near new. There were scuffs along the sides of them with dirt worked into the grooves of scuff marks. The wheels were well worn and the white laces were not just slightly dirty but filthy with little trace of having ever been white at all. There apparnetly isn't any quality control in their order fullfilment department. I will give credit to their customer service department, both on the phone and in person. Everyone was eager to help fix the issues. Over the last year and a half I have made 4 online orders with Dick's and they have severely failed on 3 of the 4. read more

No. Just-no. There is absolutely no customer service at this location. Yes, they have employees holding up walls, and hiding in the back-but zero customer service. We went this afternoon at 345pm for new shoes, and there were 6 people in the back and one guy-Nick, the most unhelpful of the group-on the floor. However Nick was too busy chatting with his friends in the back, so I had to go looking for him, for him to tell me-you can't be back in this hallway-gotcha. Wouldn't be back here Nick, if you were on the floor doing your job. If you hire someone to assist customers, make sure that they're actually working. read more

A review for the store in White Plains, New York (I cannot find a yelp page for this specific location). Today I stopped by to purchase some gym gear. I saw that windbreakers were on sale and decided to purchase them. Angela (cashier) asked if I had or wanted a rewards account. I declined. I asked if the clothes reflected the sales price and she said no. I showed her a picture of the sign and she mentioned that the sale ended roughly a few days ago. After a little back and forth she called for Phil who I can only assume is a supervisor/manager. Eventually he made an adjustment to reflect the sale price. He then asked me if I had a rewards account, but Angela interjected and said (with a bad attitude and some sarcasm) that I had already said no and didnt want one. He then had a type of banter with her that co-workers would usually have without a customer present where they basically shamed me. Phil then says to me that he was doing me a solid by giving me the sales price and that signing up was the least that I could do along with filling out a good survey. I mentioned again that I was not interested and actually had identity theft from signing up to a similar "rewards account" where my information was leaked. Well that's what I was trying to say before Phil cut me off mid-sentence, to say "it's not that serious" as he walked away. I do not appreciate being harassed by store associates over a "rewards account" and really, REALLY don't appreciate the negative backlash for declining said "rewards account", especially after having spent $250+ on merchandise. read more

I went this weekend. While I could see that they were quite busy, there literally wasn't anyone available to even grab some shoes for me to try on. I ended up going to Kohl's and buying the same thing for the same price plus some Kohl's cash and didn't have to have someone else there to get me my shoes. REI is WAAAAAAY better in most things, but there are certainly some things you can't get there that you can at Dick's. I won't be back to Dick's unless I have to. read more

Don't shop here !! Don't ! This store will not be open long so you'll be traveling very far for returns ..... Been here numerous times and I'm finally done. The staff is always changing and they don't know what they're doing (just collecting checks) There is no accountability, the employees don't know Any of the other employees and apparently they are sending staff from other stores to fill schedule voids .. but then they have no clue. The place always looks as if it was hit by a tornado ..... Had two separate employees LIE to us about services and products. Then no one could locate these employees (names were written down). I had an employee DENY that she spoke to me face to face less than 24 hours earlier ( it was an 10 minute convo in an empty store) Was lied to about items being ready and put together .... In the end the bike purchased was put together incorrectly. We received 10% off but it's going to cost another $125 to have a pro do it THERE IS NOTHING this store Sells that can't be purchased within a 5 minute drive up & down the lost road. Save the headache. I will keep an eye out for The 75% closing sale. read more

Nothing really special about this Dicks. The location is good and there is ample parking which is nice. A huge amount of Nike and a very small section of Adidas, Asics, and Puma. I came here looking for Adidas and was disappointed with the selection. The prices seem to be very high here. Checkout usually takes between 5 and 10 minutes, but I've noticed recently that there are more people working the registers. read more

NOT NEAT OR CLEAN. i went to look for volleyball knee pads and couldn't even find the section for volleyball because there was random stuff from the store covering it. Dick's is a new store in this location that replaced the Sports Authority. I went to Dick's specifically to look for tennis clothes. There was a very limited selection with limited sizes. I looked for sports bras too, but also found a limited selection and sizes for what I liked. They have a good selection of leggings and tank tops. Seems like there's more apparel for men than for women, and very little for children. I wasn't really happy with my experience there, but maybe I came at a bad time because they are changing inventory? In any case, I will probably return in the spring to see if I have a better experience. read more

Bought a basketball hoop about a month ago which came with free installation. Turned out not to be free as they charge for putting in concrete which I was never told. I paid for the removal anyways because I just wanted to get it done. They have made multiple appointments with me and cancelled at the last minute or forgot to schedule at all. I have to keep following up with the delivery people and they have no idea what is going on. It has been almost a full month after they said 1-2 weeks. Twice the shoe department was so understaffed that I could not buy shoes I wanted to purchase. In both cases it took over 10 minutes to even speak to the sales clerk will told me they were to busy. It was a bit chaotic in that it was also not clear in what order the many unserved customers would be served. I was not the only one who balked in each case. Too bad. I had been told those was a good chain and was happy to have such a store. I made a couple purchases before trying to come back for shoes. Another minor beef is that the cashier would not help me figure out the best coupon offer to use on one visit. She said that was my job. True enough but I left feeling like I paid more than I should have before determining that I had, in fact, selected the best discount to apply. read more

Hold on to your seats. About a month ago, I purchased a treadmill online to be picked up. We got there--the associate working rudely REFUSED to even bring the treadmill out to our car, saying it was against their policy to even try (CALLED HQ--NO SUCH POLICY EXISTS). After speaking to HQ I refused to let this location have my business (bought one from another Dick's location NO PROBLEM getting it in my car). I requested to cancel my order, but because it was purchased online you can't cancel the order yourself--you have to wait until 4 days and then it expires/cancels itself. So I watched for the transaction on my CC to make sure it didn't go through. Sure enough, 4 days later the pending charge was off. LOW AND BEHOLD 10 days later, I received an email that the treadmill from my CANCELED ORDER had been picked up and there was a charge on my card. While I called their website's number and spoke to representatives who were very kind and helpful, I am still curious how my order, THAT WAS CANCELED 10 DAYS PRIOR, was ABLE to be "picked up" and a new charge put on my card. Something is fishy with this location. There is no changing my mind. BEWARE. I would give 0 stars if I could, I suppose the one star I will give to the representatives I spoke to. read more

Dick's sucks! wanted to buy a $250 bike for my 9 year old's birthday. looked online found one and they said it was available for pickup in their Norwalk, CT store about a half hour drive for me. Called store to confirm. After about 15 minutes of being bounced around the phone system and being put on hold I was basically told by an employee that he did not see it offhand and would have to go look in a couple of "containers" that they had and he could not do that right now. I asked if I could leave my number so they could let me know, He declined saying to call back. 2 days later I actually went to the store. no one in the bicycle dept. I asked one employee for help and was told "I don't know bikes". asked a second one to hear "I am busy with someone else". after 15-20 minutes I left. what do you have to do to spend money here? Later I called their customer service and explained and asked them to find out if they had this product at any of 3 locations. A couple of hours later I got an e-mail saying they could not get an answer from 2 of the stores and would reach out to the 3rd and get back to me. It is now 24 hours later and no response. This is absolutely ridiculous. retail is blaming internet sales for their demise but it is really garbage management and service that is having them commit suicide. The night before visiting this location I called to confirm they carried volleyball sneakers. The kind gentleman explained they did but their brands were limited. Asics was one in particular he named. The following day I stopped by this location. Upon entering I wasn't greeted by any employee. I went directly to the sneaker section. I didn't see a customer service rep so I walked around until I found someone. I kindly asked for assistance with volleyball sneakers and the not so helpful young man pointed to an area and said " Over there". ??? I've previously worked in the retail industry, and you're supposed to assist customers not have them assist themselves. I kindly informed him I would figure out which sneakers were designed for volleyball on my own I suppose. He didn't ask if I needed a specific color, brand, nor size. And they didn't have Asics!!! Following through with your client is key. Not upholding the title of a retail specialist isn't providing exceptional service. I had a terrible retail experience at this location in which I will not be visiting again. Additional training is necessary to ensure all employees understand their roles. read more
