Fresh Ingredients! I visited Chopt first time (4/18/23). Bethesda Row it's literally next to the Bethesda Trolley Trail entrance on Bethesda Ave. Limited Indoor & Outdoor Seating. I ordered the "Santa Fe" salad (avocado, corn, grape tomatoes, crispy shallots atop romaine lettuce w/Smokey chipotle dressing.) Tasty fresh ingredients. The chipotle dressing much spicier than expected. The spicy flavor overpowered the salad for me. Prompt courteous customer service. See Photos!

One can never go wrong with a healthy salad which can be made every which way per your palate. 1. Choose Greenery 2. Choose Toppings aka Fruits/Vegetables 3. Choose Various Cheeses 4. Choose Beans, Grains & Noodles 5. Choose Crunchy Toppings aka Shallot & Walnuts 6. Choose Proteins 7. Choose from over 20 Dressings (A few Vegan) & amongst enjoying your Chopt-up greens with a mix of toppings, the friendly staff will visit your table offering their assistance.

Salad in a bowl. Show me someone who doesn't offer it. Bread was stale. Mexican chicken soup was good, but comes in a smallish cup, so don't expect to fill up on it. My salad had kale, chicken, quinoa, among other things. Chipotle sauce added some tang. Chopping the components is a nice show, but doesn't explain why the chopping couldn't occur prior to viewing. Tasted good enough, but didn't distinguish itself from every other salad in the neighborhood. The staff was lacking. The man on the register couldn't figure it out, and had to be helped by another staff member. I am looking forward to the shake out. The industry needs to consolidate.

I never get tired of Chopt. I could eat their salads everyday. The way they mix the salad to make sure everything is evenly distributed is great and I love that I taste the dressing on everything not just the first layer of salad.

Wow this Chopt is nice! I have been to 3 other Chopts and this one has the nicest interior and seating arrangement. The Chopts in Wildwood shopping center and Rockville Congressional Plaza are also really nice, but this one had different seating arrangements. I really liked the booths that provide a lot of privacy. Everything else was about the same as the other Chopts in Rockville Congressional Plaza and Bethesda. The service was good and my salad was delicious. The price was the same too. I love Chopt and will come back to this location anytime!

There's an ongoing debate in my office about what's better: Chop'T or Sweetgreen. Although Sweetgreen is winning, my team decided to stroll over to the new Chop'T just off of Bethesda Row. After enjoying lunch here, I still think Sweetgreen wins my heart, but I'm still giving Chop'T a four star rating. Here's why: 1) Quality food- Chop'T has flavorful salads and you can eat something seemingly unhealthy like a fried chicken Po Boy salad and still take less of a hit than at Chipotle or other fast casual restaurants. 2) The menu- It's HUGE! You can make your own salad or choose from a variety of already designed for you salads. 3) The space- it's beautiful and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. What prevented that fifth star: 1) Lack of customer service- the staff were just not friendly. 2) Poor system- It was unclear to the novice where the line to pay began and end and staff failed to give direction. Maybe one day Chop'T will win our office debate.

Very much NOT a "Mediterranean Salad"

Terrible experience! Ordered a "Mediterranean Salad" for delivery. Not only did it arrive to me cold and more than 30 minutes late, but it was the WRONG salad. I was sent a "Harvest Salad" -- complete with sweet potatoes and other nonsense that have no business being on top of a salad. How do you work at Chopt and (1) not understand enough about the company's menu to make a dish properly or (2) not understand enough about cuisine to not know that sweet potatoes and pumpkin seeds are not the makings of anything remotely Mediterranean? These jobs are not all that difficult, folks! It shouldn't be hard to do them well!

I haven't been particularly pleased with this location in comparison to others. Maybe it's the time I go. The quality just doesn't seem the same. The last time I was here the salad bowl was about 3/4 full...mind you I didn't make any substitutions and actually requested 1 addition of chicken.

There was a live bug crawling around in the middle of my bowl of my salad... It's not a flying bug, no wings... So it didn't just fly into my salad...

Salads are good but very pricey. Plenty of seating indoor and some outside. Nice place for a quick meal. This shop is located in downtown Bethesda Row next to the capital crescent trail.

Salads are fresh and large. Tossing the salad before packaging is GENIUS. Will definitely be going back

True Food Kitchen (TKF) shows that it's never too late to make an amazing second 1st impression!…read more Back in mid-2018, my dining companion and I gave TFK a try because we had known about Founder Dr. Andrew Weil's work in integrative medicine and were curious how he would apply his healthful ways into cuisine. While nothing was fundamentally wrong (the Burger was certainly fine), the food tasted of stereotypical "health food," i.e. too bland (especially the Fish Taco). Fast forward ~7.5 years, we decided to give TKF another shot for brunch with their Grilled Sustainable Salmon and Blueberry Pancakes. Both dishes impressed us: full of flavor, bright, and healthful while still very satisfying! The Salmon was cooked through while still moist, buttery, and slightly smoky on the exterior for the light grilling, andthe accompanying crunchy Snap Peas, Organic Wild Rice, and creamy Thai Basil Vinaigrette provided a refreshing and warming complement to the fish. As for the pancakes, they were moist and had a nice hearty graininess (Buckwheat?) together with Organic Blueberry Compote, Greek Yogurt (a naturally tart and lighter alternative to butter), and Maple Syrup for a sweet, tart, and vibrant accent. Since the compote portion was a bit small, we asked for a bit more to which our server kindly obliged! Both dishes left a strong impression on us that we returned this afternoon for both as well as a Blackened version of the Grilled Salmon. While a bit warmer in temperature and spiced in the crust, the inherent oily flavors were actually accented in the blackened version to provide a nice contrast to the plain Grilled Salmon. We savored trying both versions side-by-side! Meanwhile, we enjoyed the Pancakes as a lovely dessert to share! In terms of service, Aubrey made our experience feel like that of fine dining with a relaxing vibe. Attentive and welcoming, she also helped to seamlessly rectified a bit of miscommunication on both of our parts (we meant 1 order of adult portion Pancakes that comes with 2 flapjacks rather than the literal 1 pancake for the kids' version). In the end, we enjoyed having one pancake at a time (once with extra Blueberry Compote, then the next one with the Maple Syrup)! All in all, TFK has matured culinarily by finding the optimal balance of pleasing the palate with fulfiling its mission to source clean ingredients prepared in healthful fashion. Combined with outstanding service and a bright green garden-like ambiance, TFK is great place for diverse diets and those looking to satisfy their mindful eating side!

They have a good variety of brunch and non-brunch meals to select from and it made my selection difficult as I kept seeing something that read very delicious. I would recommend this place to others and I plan to go again if and when I'm in the area.

I attempted to contact the restaurant via email directly but no direct contact info provided on…read moretheir website, so I am posting here. Summary: it litterally left a bad taste in my. Off Uni which I saved for the last taste, first pieces stunk of ammonia, replacements were just bitter and off as well. These were suppose to be chef choice and he chose to serve off uni which could have easily been deteced with a sniff test. The salmon roe was also soft, runny, tasteless and off color. The remainder of the shashimi was OK but lacked the freshness one would expect for the price. Also the platter was so cluttered I could not identify what was what. Labels would be helpful. First time visit, first impressions are importent. Not the best experience I am giving an 1 star rating to draw attention for their managment and maybe fair warning to customers. I visited Raku on Thursday April 30 @7:30, Restaurant was about 3/4 full. A bit tight seasting as other's had described. Elbow to elbow almost. Typically noisy as resturantes are these days. 1. When we walked in, the receptionist / greeter had no uniform or ID badge so a bit confusing and no reception desk. Not the most welcoming hospitality. 2. Wait staff sort of dissappeared mid service or was just unattentive, they were right around the corner at the wait station. I dropped a chopstick on the floor and needed a repacement. I could not get eye contact so I had to get up and request a replacement after a few minutes. The two of us order the TOKU JO SASHIMI - (38) Chef's Choice ~ White or Multigrain Rice - $110. 3. The shashim was served an a single platter which was a bit crowded and lacked the artistry or elegance a $110 platter of shashimi shoud be presented. Many of the pieces were cut too large and chunky. I appreciate the generosity of the protions but they could / should have been sliced in half. Most of the fish tasted OK but lacked the brightness you expect from fresh cut shashimi. Maybe these platters are pre-prepared and storred in the cooler until needed. The rice served in bowls with the platter was extreemly bland to me. No flavor at all and a bit over cooked. 4. We ordeed the corn meal coated calamari as appetizer. This was adequate but lacked seasoniong and included a some what bland ambigious dipping sauce. Maybe garlic aioli. This was compped in compensation for the off uni in the sushi platter. Probabaly not going back regardless as I am not local.

I'm updating my review now. I went to this Raku several times for lunch and dinner more than…read moredecade. It's convenient location while you're in Bethesda Row area. Raku is an Asian fusion restaurant and have some verity of Asians menus that's nice things about here. Their popular coconuts curry noodles soup is from Thai or Vietnamese coconuts curry, and not as spicy as authentic Thai or Vietnamese ones so It's easy to eat. You can choose from 3 type of noodles and different soup - curry or simple broth. It's probably better choice here than their sushi for my preference. If we just want Sushi in near Bethesda area, Sushiko in Chavy Chase is good. When we crave for Authentic sushi we just go to authentic Japanese restaurants ( some Michelin stars "Sushi Taro" in DC ) that is truly authentic quality. I also go to other one for sushi ( "Love Sushi Makoto" in DC ) I know that's not even comparable category as those restaurants offers authentic real foods by Japanese owner and chef, and ingredients are real from Japan. I know It's not fair to compare to Asian fusion restaurant like Raku or typical local sushi places that other Asian or American own the place. Raku is very reasonably priced as it should be for actual ingredients. Price stays reasonable that makes this place a popular spot too. I have to be honest their miso soup tastes no real authentic favor to me. But Raku is definitely better choice of quality foods overall compare to other Asian restaurants in Bethesda. Sushi chefs and waitresses are asian and none of them are Japanese and that is ok as most of Sushi chefs and Sushi restaurants in USA the workers are not Japanese anyways. It is actually hard to find Sushi restaurants that owned by Japanese with real Japanese chefs and waitresses and staff in USA. They sometimes says welcome "irasshai" in some Japanese greeting ( that's only used in restaurant setting ) with their wrong accent that is cute to me:) Bethesda is a cute little town and Bethesda row is just like a corner cute village with surrounded by basic restaurants and cafes, normal shops, nothing luxury really, but safer and quiet, clean little town. Neighbors enjoy to go out to restaurants including this Raku as easy to access from near suburbs housing area, so my friends does and walking distance from their houses. This restaurant set small tables very close to next seat and there's very small bar that space is limited, that's as why it's always filled up and crowded. It's uncomfortable and no privacy, I wish they make space between next seats. Except winter, they offer outside seats and dog friendly that's a bonus for dog lovers.
