AVOID! Not worth your money. I've worked in restaurants and rarely ever leave bad reviews. But this place is the WORST! No sauces!! I spent $45 on delivery and requested chopsticks and extra hot sauce. What kind of pho restaurant does not provide hoisin sauce nor sriracha packet or any form of hot sauce as a condiment? Furthermore, the packaging is terrible. The pork egg rolls were soggy and had NO FLAVOR. Its not well rolled. The dac biet pho is also very bland and has no star anise. The bbq pork banh mi was the only edible thing. I honestly had a few bites and threw everything away. This was truly a disappointing experience and made me lose my appetite. I came here on the recommendation of a friend. It is a huge restaurant with a beautiful interior. Looks like it used to be primarily a Chinese food place. But I came for the Pho. I ordered spring rolls and rare beef pho along with hot tea. The spring rolls had pork and shrimp. They were fresh and cooked and delicious. I loved the peanut sauce served with them. The pho was a huge bowl served with all the usual condiments. I love to dress up each nite with a little of each sauce to try them all. I've become a fan of chili oil. They had it all here at your table. The tea was hot a fresh. I would have given this place 5 stars because of the food and excellent service. But the tables were a bit dirty. Needed a nice soup on a overcast day in Monterrey, saw this place was open and got an amazing meal and the staff was great. Had Pho with only beef, the soup was great, the beef was thin and had plenty of it in my large bowl. Also tried both spring rolls and grilled pork rolls. The rice was cold in the middle and a little crunchy. The meat was overcooked hard. The server had an attitude after I told her my food was cold. My dining experience was just awful. The host blamed me for taking my time eating. Couldn't choke down anymore. To avoid any further argument with the woman host, I paid the bill and left the cold hard food and attitude. I frequent Chopstix a lot and their Vietnamese pho and dry noodles are always amazing. Their milk teas are one of the best in the Monterey area, however very inconsistent in the amount of ice they use. Sometimes very heavy on the ice and sometimes you wonder if there's any ice at all. Their appetizers are nothing special. Fried tofu not crispy at all, soggy and not too flavorful. Their onion rings are fried too long and I don't know anyone who likes burnt onion rings. The pot stickers feel like they came straight out of a bag and were microwaved. Very soggy. I was disappointed. I placed a online order for ASAP and arrived at business 5-7 minutes later . Online email said it would be 5-25 minutes till ready. I only ordered three drinks boba so I went in to check. The First Lady I spoke with said there was no order with my name . Never Again!!! I have been a longtime customer and today of all days this would happen. First they messed up on my order and I called them and the manager took my number down and said she would give me 10% off next time, fine. Then I ate into my mandarin wings and it was raw inside so I called again and for some reason it wouldn't go through with my number so i called with my sons phone and it when right through. Spoke with the manager again, she offered a refund but all I wanted is for her to talk to the cooks cause someone could get really sick with raw chicken. Used to really like this place and would go anytime I was in seaside. My mom and I went to eat there today and she ordered the Asian chicken salad and her chicken was literally raw and she didn't notice until halfway into eating it. She told another server because our server wasn't around, he was apologetic and very nice. I'm sure he told our server what happened. Our server comes by after and asks if everything's OK but in a very rude tone to my mom. "Not good". I'm very sad to say this because I used to be a fan of this place. I get take out here and used to eat here but I had a very bad experience on Dec 31, 2020. There was a person in front of me inline to order food in the peak of Covid-19 here in California and they were chatting a lot. About what to order, what's popular, what's good, what the server recommends the most...fine, but mask was pulled fully below their nose barely at the top of the lip...not fine. I'm watching this conversation for about a minute waiting for the server to say "put your mask up please" and it didn't happen. I find it negligent and disappointing seen as this could be life or death for all the people in the room (there were 6-8 of us that I could see) and there after. One I thing I noticed, the prices are really good $5.99 for the medium bowl of Pho, a little more then a $1.50 for the next size up.
