I got the tempura udon and the daily special crunch roll. It was a great meal for lunch. The udon was perfect and it came with a lot of veggies tempura along with the shrimp. Great service, my server checked on me often. Food came out quick and inside was calm and easily seated with cleanliness.

I got the bulgogi bento and the bulgogi was a bit too tough. Good flavor though. The tempura was a bit too oily for my taste but not bad. The tempura sauce could have a bit more saltiness to it. The California rolls were good. Service was nice but I wish the AC was a bit stronger. Would be curious to see how their katsu is next time.

Chopstix continues to get better! I went shortly after they opened but went again recently and I feel like the food quality only increased. The sushi rolls were rolled a bit tighter, the service was even friendlier (they were doing a good job before too), they checked up on us more, etc. I went back with my friend who also got the chicken katsu curry and I got rolls, and both were great: we love the range of this place!

Decided to try them again since my first visit was near their opening. The ika katsu curry was really good and was served piping hot. The wontons were served cold just like the Korean fried chicken was served the first time I went. Not sure why the appetizers are coming out cold. Next time,I'll skip the appetizers. Service was friendly.

This place has such an awesome lunch special. They have curry bowls, chicken bowls, beef bulgogi bowls, salmon bowls all for 10$-12$. It looks small, but trust me, they're huge portions. I got the curry bowl. Its one of the better Japanese curry I've had. The inside is very tiny but its well kept and clean. Its decorative and cute. My server was friendly and the food came out fast! I was in and out of the place just like that! My husband and I spent 25m in there and made it just in time for work! I will definitely come again

I've been going to the original Chopstix off Convoy for over 20 years. Love this place! They are reasonably priced and good portions. I am so happy this one opened up in Miramesa. Came to the one in MM for a to go order. Ordered the mixed tempura and 2 rolls (Pink and Samurai). The mixed tempura was very good.. the batter was light and not oily at all. Both of the rolls were a good size and fresh.

Sushi night! We are trying a local spot that is new to us tonight since it was close by and I came along this spot which was very close by and had a variety of menu items that looked great. We ended up going with just sushi this night because that's what I was craving before I noticed that they have a wide variety of menu items as well as sushi. We of course over ordered with 4 different rolls as well as a miso soup and edamame and everything was so good and super fresh! We got a variety of rolls but the red caterpillar roll was my favorite of the ones we got. This will become a go to spot for us for sure and ordering to go was very easy but I hope to come in and dine soon!

Good food and a good value. We have been going to this restaurant since it was in Kearny Mesa.

First time trying this restaurant so we ordered to go for Friday night's dinner. Parking gets chaotic in this site since H-Mart and other restaurants are there. We pre-ordered tofu appetizers, Chicken Katsudon and Ramen. Food was pretty good and my husband really liked the ramen. The Chicken Katsudon came with salad and was flavorful but wished it was more crispy. Maybe the sauce made it soggy but again it was still good, especially the scrambled egg and sauce. The serving was huge and I ate the dish for 2 days. The tofu was also delicious but didn't come with a dipping sauce so I had to use the salad dressing to dip the tofu in. Will most likely return in a couple of months.

This was my first time trying Chopstix Japanese Noodles in Mira Mesa. The sushi rolls were decent and reasonably priced, around $14-$15 per roll. I'd say the sushi is average overall and a good value for the price. I also ordered the beef teriyaki, which I would not recommend. The meat lacked flavor, tasted mostly like sweet teriyaki sauce, and was very chewy. Unfortunately, it was difficult to enjoy. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. Overall, it's an okay spot if you're craving sushi, but based on my experience, I'd probably stick to the sushi menu and avoid the other dishes.

Chopstix 2 is an off shoot of the OG location in the Convoy District. They replaced another longtime sushi eatery in this plaza anchored by H Mart. Because of the large number of neighboring businesses and the fact that I visited during peak dinner hours, I had to circle the plaza lot twice before I was able to find an open parking space. The inside of the suite was rather compact, yet it could seat about 40 customers. The dining area was about 3/4 full when I arrived. The multi-page menu booklet featured Japanese comfort food with dry and wet style noodles, rice bowls, and sushi rolls as some of the categories. From the list of special sushi rolls, I began my meal with an Ex-Girlfriend Roll which was rice-less. Imitation crab, avocado, and spicy tuna were the inside ingredients of the roll that was topped with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and soy mustard sauce. It tasted rather sweet, however it only came as five pieces when I had expected at least six. The other item I selected was the Curry Rice with Chicken Katsu as a protein (+$4). This dish was beef-flavored Japanese curry served with white rice, miso soup, and a small salad. There were four pieces of deep-fried breaded chicken placed next to the rice on the plate. The chicken was reasonably crispy while the brown curry was mildly spicy. It was a hearty entree that would have been even better on a cold evening which it was not. The service and the check-out process were both efficient. For the price and quantity of my food, I gave a four star rating for my dining experience at Chopstix 2 in Mira Mesa.

Welcome to Mira Mesa! The restaurant is located in the H Mart shopping complex between H Mart and In N Out so depending what time of the day you come, could be a busy area to park. Ambiance was casual, servers were bustling but friendly. They have a good selection on their menu with a lot of variety - choose your own Soup, noodles, salad, sushi. We ordered the Salmon Bento Box and Korean Shortribs Bento Box. Delicious and hit the spot. The salmon size was a little on the small side but the Bento box also comes with rice, miso soup, salad and tempura so overall that combination was filling. We also ordered the Awesome roll which consists of shrimp tempura, imitation crab, and avocado topped with salmon, eel sauce and baked and it sure lived to its name! I must have been super hungry as I also kept eyeing our neighbours order which looked so delicious - Big plate of yummy Stir fried noodles, and a big bowl of seafood called Champon. Looked so good so on my list next when I return. :)

Came for their soft opening in the H Mart plaza. There was quite a wait but we were seated in a reasonable time. The inside is very small but the restaurant is meant to be cozy. The food was ok, I didn't think it was anything special. Would be good for a quick family meal.

I ordered the Tonkatsu Curry this time. The pork was tender & fried to a delicate crisp, paired beautifully with a dark, glistening curry packed with deep umami and spice. Their sake selection is superb. I tried a seasonal summer sake that provided refreshing contrast to the rich pork. They even offer a tasting flight so you can explore different options before committing to one. If you don't drink, get the daikon radish+ponzu dip, it adds that same perfect, refreshing contrast to the heavy meal. Their menu is tight and focused. They know their specialty and they hone it. The photo shows their pork loin to be made up of majority fat with less than 30% lean meat. All of the opaque white areas you see are indeed fat, not connective tissue. That is an excessive amount of fat for something labeled as pork loin and priced at $26. I hope this is informative for others who may be misled by their incorrect claim of "top meat quality."

Reminds me of Japan. The art work is awesome as well, the music choice is great, and I really enjoyed the Curry show that they had playing on TV. Service and Ambiance 5/5 Ok for the Curry. I Ordered a Chicken Cutlet curry with Mozzarella cheese and an egg. The rice is on point!!! The egg was cooked exactly how I like my eggs with the crispy edges and runny yolk. The mozzarella cheese is a must, mix it in with the curry and let it melt . For the curry, wow this is so far the best curry I've ever had. It had a nice sweetness to it but not over powering sweet! The specials are a great deal as the portion is massive and enough to share between two people comfortably. If you dine in, most entrees also come with miso soup. The D2 special is great value and variety. It comes with miso soup, tempura, salad, macaroni salad, and teriyaki chicken on a bed of fried rice. The fried rice has a shockingly good wok flavor, and the teriyaki is quite good. Not a dish that will blow your mind, but definitely hits the spot without breaking the bank. The only way to get tempura appeared to be by ordering an udon dish, which was disappointing. The biggest letdown was the El Diablo roll. Despite being described as spicy, I didn't find it spicy at all, and the flavors fell flat. The service was pleasant, and there wasn't anything objectively wrong with the experience.
