Welll I had no idea this location moved, but they did and unfortunately the new location is not nearly as great as the prior location. It's located within Sistrunk and the area outside of the bldg is not the safest. However, once inside it has a few locations besides Chops and Hops to check out as well. The chops and hops location here though is quite small and congested. It has two areas for axe throwing, it has a pool table and a bar area. For an event with a decent amount of people this spot is not the greatest, but it could be good if your party was less than 6 people. I'm glad I got to check it out, I just wish it was in the same location it was before.

I got to go axe throwing for the first time and it was a great experience. Paul was a great instructor and very detailed in his instructions. He must've been great because I threw 6 bullseyes. Not bad for a first timer huh? The drinks were absolutely amazing. Ian did an amazing job preparing my drinks. I had a stay woke and let's berry the hatchet and both drinks were absolutely delicious and refreshing. The overall vibe was real chill and cool. Whoever was the DJ did an amazing job with the music. I love 90s hip hop so it was a definite vibe. Definitely plan to return.

Not to brag, but I'm fairly decent at axe throwing. It's a great group activity and an excellent option for corporate team building. I learned about Chops and Hops through my job, again for--you guessed it--team-building fun. This location is a one-stop spot, combining a number of vendors under one roof, from burgers to desserts, all surrounding a bar and a spacious, inviting area. There's ample parking (paid) and plenty of nearby bars and lounges if you want to take your fun to a next location. Their bar menu features beers, specialty cocktails and whiskeys with the option to order from any of the neighboring restaurants, delivered right to your table as you learn how to throw. All of the food choices were delicious--from sliders to wings, pretzel bites, and tots. You have plenty of apps and eats to enjoy while you show your peers who rules!

Discover more reviews of mine on my site! www.johnpalmerpayne.com Axe Throwing & Whiskey Sipping: Chop and Hops Hits the Bullseye This past Saturday, I had the chance to check out Chop and Hops at the Sistrunk Marketplace in Fort Lauderdale with a few friends from my kickball league--and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast. Chop and Hops combines two things you don't normally pair together: throwing axes and drinking whiskey. And somehow? It works perfectly. We kicked off the experience by meeting our friendly "Axperts"--yep, that's what they call the team members who walk you through the rules, help fine-tune your throw, and make sure you don't, you know, accidentally put an axe through the ceiling. BTW, though I did forget his name, our Axpert was pretty cute. Be sure to tell him I am happily taken, but that shouldn't stop you from giving it a go. Their energy was contagious, and their coaching definitely helped ease us into the experience. After a quick safety rundown (and a strong drink from the bar to fuel our competitive spirits, or so I was told), we dove into a game of Cricket. Not the British sport--this version involved hitting specific rings on the target three times each. Think darts meets lumberjack Olympics. There are four rings you need to complete, and whoever fills up their card first wins. Simple in theory... surprisingly competitive in practice. We had one hour on the clock, and every minute was packed with laughter, cheering, trash talk, and a little friendly rivalry. It turns out throwing axes is part technique, part pure rage release--10/10 would recommend. Between rounds, we enjoyed drinks from the bar, right on-site, adding a fun social vibe to the experience. The venue itself has a cool, rustic-meets-industrial aesthetic that fits perfectly with the vibe. Plus, Sistrunk Marketplace always delivers on atmosphere. What really stood out was the staff (experts)--supportive, encouraging, and clearly passionate about what they do. Whether it was giving us tips mid-throw or just hyping up a particularly clean bullseye, they kept the energy high from start to finish. If you're looking for something different to do in Fort Lauderdale--a fun way to blow off steam, bond with friends, or just try something new--Chop and Hops is absolutely worth checking out. It's not just axe throwing. It's axe-throwing with attitude, cold drinks, and one unforgettable experience. Check them out here: https://www.chopsandhopsfl.com. Until next time--aim sharp, drink responsibly, and keep the weekends wild.

This is such a fun activity but I have to say I thought it was going to be easier to get the axe to stick on the target lol. Very humbling moment to say the least but I would definitely go ahead. I went with someone but because you are grouped up with other people in the cage, it could be a solo date for sure. It's fun to compete with other people in a friendly way. Get there early grab a drink or go to their speakeasy for some chill vibes after.

We unexpectedly found this place after seeing a play at the Broward Center because our friend was chilling here before getting a tattoo upstairs. This is a really great spot to hangout at night or during the day, drink some cocktails and throw some axes for spiritual purity and strength; strength and spiritual purity. They have great cocktail options that we enjoyed immensely, and if you are so inclined, can enjoyed some fried eats, grilled cheese, or bacon. If I lived closer, I would come here to hang out and enjoy some hanging bacon and bourbon-based cocktails because unicorns and dancing gnomes with axes and poetry.

Stopped in while waiting for the rest of our group to go to the spot next door. It wasn't busy at all and it was a Friday night. Ordered a drink called Berry The Hatchett and it was very easy going down! Our bartender was sweet and friendly. I'm glad we had her and wish I could remember her name because she was friendlier than everyone else. Not that they weren't, she was just better. If we were going to be in town longer, I'd hang out here and do some ax throwing. It looked like they had 4 different ax boards and two were empty. This place has dim lights and a chill vibe. They also serve food, but we didn't need any since we had dinner elsewhere.

Great drinks, fun atmosphere, excellent staff... Perfect to watch the game and grab a few drinks. This place is super fun. I came here for my birthday and had an amazing time. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they definitely delivered the fun! Check-in was smooth. They brought us over to our caging area where the axe throwing takes place. They staff went over the rules and safety guilt. He taught us how to properly handle the are, when to throw, and how to throw. He gave us different throwing techniques and a few practice runs. After a few practices, the fun and games started! The bar had a variety of handcrafted cocktails. I had the spicy guava margarita, and it was a hit! We didn't try the food. There was a small selection of finger food items. After axe throwing, we went over to Mama Hanks speakeasy for more drinks and fun! I will definitely be back.

I recently came with a large group of friends to celebrate my birthday. There was no issue reserving a cage that could fit us all. We check in was easy and we were shown right to out cage. The axe master was with us the entire time and showed everyone how to play and offered tips and tricks to the ones of us that were struggling with the axes. The drinks were good and they had a good special on a bucket of seltzers. The food was not great though. Everyone in the group that got something, didn't enjoy it/had something to say about it. I would say if you were to come, come for the game and the drinks!

Cute set up! Nice place to come with a group of friends or date night with other couples! You can make reservations or walk in but always recommend rsvp. For drinks I hate the six axe super good! Hands down and food I had their poached shrimp roll on challah bread with a side of totes. The roll bread was to much for me tbh i had to pick some bread off to actually enjoy the shrimp.... I didn't really enjoy that dish so much tbh, some other ppl in the group said the same about the food too something about tasting like frozen tenders.... But overall the spot is cool and fun drinks are on point! And the staff was friendly and nice!

I'm not surprised this place has a perfect five stars. It's so much fun! Our most recent trip was on a Friday night, and it was $35 a person (although a bit more with the annoying online reservation fees) for a 70-minute session. Our host, Fran, was awesome! She quickly picked up on our group dynamics to break us up into teams and joke around with us, was patient in teaching us, and gave great tips to help us improve. The atmosphere is fun, the drinks are good, unique, and strong, and it's completely safe. The perfect outing for a date night or family outing. A few tips: -Please know that if your party is small, you'll probably be paired with another small party. -Definitely make reservations ahead of time as well in order to make sure you get your spot. -parking in the area kind of sucks, so leave yourself plenty of time so you don't miss your reservation

My grad school program alumni group just had a great gathering there (Go Gators!) and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They do arrangements for food and beverages on a group tab and even set up a side table for us (between the ax cages in the back). We enjoyed a few hours of camaraderie and tasty beverages! I haven't been there since before covid so I'm happy to see it's still as awesome as it used to be! Tip: if you're just going for the bar, consider wearing closed toe shoes in case someone tempts you into ax throwing!

We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu.
