Sea Life Park has changed a lot since I visited as a child. It's no longer about animals performing…read moretricks, and I actually appreciate that. The park now feels more focused on education, conservation, and treating the animals with respect. Many of the animals are older or rescues, and I commend the staff for allowing them to interact naturally rather than forcing them to perform. The park was quiet during our visit, which made for a relaxing experience, but I hope they find new ways to attract families without relying on the animals. A splash park or Hawaiian cultural activities could add to the experience while staying true to their mission. As a kamaʻāina, admission was $25 per person. Some may feel that's expensive for a smaller park, but I left feeling like my ticket was supporting a worthwhile cause. In fact, knowing what I know now, I would have gladly purchased the $55 annual family pass just to help support the park and the animals in its care.

I love dolphins but for paying a little more I could have had a better experience elsewhere. I should have since it costs about $100 round trip with Lyft. My hotel said there were no shuttles. And groups of "6" which on the website.... is what I thought I would be in turned into 14. Minimal time with the dolphin and just waiting for your turn for 20 seconds total of interaction with a trainer that seemed annoyed with us most of the time and wanted to get us in and out of there. Won't be returning. Very sweet dolphins though.

They will efficiently direct people to where they need to be, and strictly enforce 21+ areas so underage drinking does not occur. Parking on the day-of is $40+, so definitely pre-pay to save $10. Other tip would be to bring CLEAR refillable water bottles because their website does not have updated information; security informed me I wouldn't be able to bring in my Owala, despite it being empty. I recently attended Gryffin and Subtronics, both were great with good vibes and good people. Come early to secure good parking, vibe to local DJ sets, and enjoy the music!

I recently saw Gryffin and subtronics and the production for both shows was amazing. It surrounded by these big rocks that they put projections on, and the whole sound and visual effects are so cool. They even do sets right at the wave pool, so you can be floating and listening to music! I did not go in the wave pool, but it looked like fun. During these shows, they even have some of the waterslides going. With tons of staff and lifeguards, of course. I will say that parking is so expensive at around $40 per car and if you don't leave before the crowds leave after the last set, expect to be sitting in your car for an hour before getting out of the parking lot. Security is pretty tight too. All bags are checked, metal detectors, and if you're wearing boots- you'll have to take them off and shake them out before entering. For the subtronics show, we got our tickets off of stubhub and when they scanned it- it showed that our tickets were scanned an hour ago. So, we had to buy tickets on the spot and then report it to stubhub. Not their fault, but a warning to everyone else. Glad that we were able to still buy tickers there, but beware and get tickets directly from their website.

Located here at Ka Makana is a little train ride that goes through out the mall. With about 5 little cabins for you and your kiddies to ride and a good amount of time to enjoy. Its $5 per adult and $5 per child. Children must be 36" or taller to ride alone. Hours of operation is Monday-Saturday 10a-6p and Sunday 12p-6p. Operations also depend on weather as this is an outdoor mall. Although its $5 per ride for my son it's worth it as he loves it all the time. The conductor now is ALWAYS interactive with kids and has a great personality. It's because of him we love coming back.

I think if it's tight, the red cart will move as one and more smooth for the kids.

There's also a waiver that needs to be signed so going online ahead of time to arrange your visit is important. Once you get there, one of the volunteers will open the gate to let you in. Tours are informal and donation based. The sanctuary is now made of 1100 acres and is home to many of Hawaii's endangered birds. Can you believe that Hawaii is the number one place on planet Earth for endangered species?! That includes plants, insects and birds. Small habitat, loss of habitat, and small populations to begin with contribute to this sad event. The volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and had loads of information to share with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was a relaxing, three hours of birdwatching, fresh air, and peace on the North Shore.

Now I'm not a Birder or Photographer we went to enjoy bird watching with a guided tour to see and learn about the endangered Hawaiian birds in our islands. The tour guides are all volunteers very knowledgeable and all passionate about what they do which is share what they can about the wetland birds living on the refuge. It was a very fun experience being in a group w great tour guides and enthusiastic attendees, makes me wana take up a new hobby. There was about 25 of us and for most Birding or photography is their passion hobby. It's a 1-2 hr walking tour on flat grassy terrain. Easy walking for all ages. Tours are FREE Sunscreen a must Shades and hat is promising Binoculars helpful Water is good Tours are on Thursday 4pm and Saturday 9am from mid Oct to mid Feb. Adventure VR is ESCAPETHEROOMers last stop in Honolulu, Hawaii in April 2019. They are located…read moreabove a "bookstore" in Kaka'ako. There are stairs to take to the second level on the outside. Once you get upstairs, there's two sets of doors and they are the set of black doors to the right which has a little doorbell button that will have VR on it. Ring the bell and the adventure will begin! Currently, they have just the one VR escape game called "Space, Magic, & Time" which was all developed in-house. Their goal is to make many VR escape games for physical escape room locations to add on as a supplement to their escape room choices. Since this is our second VR experience, we felt kind of hooked! They currently have 8 spaces but the max the design of the game currently is for 4 people to play together although they can run two games simultaneously. Each player gets their own VR box so there won't be any bumping into each other situation. Currently their VR headsets are connected to a wire but they will be wireless soon as the wire does tangle as you move around in the game but we didn't find untangling it much of a bother in our game. "Space, Magic, & Time" starts out in a mission control center where you'll be given your first assignment. Each assignment gets harder as it progresses. There's a good mixture of puzzle solving and physical aspects to the game. At one point, we felt like we were actually shooting a real bow and arrow as there was tension felt every time we pulled back. We didn't feel any motion sickness although if you have a fear of height, I think you can definitely practice conquering that in the VR world first. Sometimes there is a group already in the room, and while there is a comfortable waiting area, you do not want to hear what is going on or it will spoil your own game. So if the previous players are going over-time or you are extra early, it is best to wait downstairs in the Logos bookstore until it is your booking time. There were about 7 empty stalls in the parking lot when I arrived at 5:45pm for my 6pm event. Up the stairs is a little landing. You press the button that says "AVR" and it rings a bell to let you in. Gerard welcomed us, gave us safety tips, and made sure we had tons of fun! We all had a great time. I'm going back with my kids.
