SO RUDE ! I waited a half hour for my food and was told the waitress gave it to someone else. When i asked for it to go because i don't have any more time to wait they snapped at me "she's new, I don't know what else to tell you". If you want to keep a good customer, my advice would be to have better customer service and maybe offer a smoothie or fries to a hungry, irritated patron instead of barking at them. My first time here and I got the quinoa bowl! Not too much flavor in this dish besides the natural flavors of the ingredients and a side of balsamic to top it off. If you're looking for something healthy this was good. Maybe try it with a fried egg instead of boiled. I had a side of sweet potato fries as well which was a good choice to balance out my meal. After living in Rochester my whole life I decided to give Chomp a try. Went for lunch with my cousin. We both ordered the Chomp burger and two smoothies. Our burgers were delicious and the smoothies were very good as well. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because we had to wait 30 minutes for our food. Yes it was lunch time on a Friday and it was busy, but people who ordered after us were being served before us. Any other day I'm sure it would be great service. read more

Delightful food. Varied menu. Overall a nice experience. They were very accommodating to our large group. Chomp is great place for a quick stop to grab a sandwich, a smoothie, and be on your way. The lunching area is neat and clean, the servers are very polite, and on my first visit they did not took a long time to bring my food. I ask for a Reuben Grill and a apple base juice (I do not remember the exact name, but I know it had a lot of ginger). The sandwich had a good size and it was well prepared. My only complain is that it had a lot of sauce for my taste. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at the Chomp and I plan to return to taste some of their burgers. read more

I'd characterize this place as "meh or miss." I've eaten here three times, and it's been a not-so-great mixed bag. The first time we got burger melts (I got a veggie burger, hubby got a hamburger) and they were a bit greasy, but still pretty good. And the sweet potato fries were really good, so I was willing to go back for a second try. Second time I had breakfast with three colleagues and we all left much lighter in our wallets and not so satisfied with our meals: meh. But lunch today will be my last meal there. I ordered a black bean burger and when it arrived, the guy who delivered it to the table couldn't even identify what it was because of all the cheese and grease. Since I didn't order cheese, he very kindly told the cook to make another one. But when my new lunch arrived, it wasn't so much a black bean burger as it was a half-cup of lukewarm black bean paste slathered between an oil-soaked bun. We order from Chomp quite regularly at work, but after today, I'm not so sure. We called early, around 11am, and by 12:10, still no delivery, I called to ask of it's whereabouts and the kid told me he just left...they had a lot of deliveries... So let me get this straight. You only do deliveries, when you have enough orders to warrant sending the guy out?? How does it work here? I think waiting over an hour for a salad and a quesadilla, shouldn't take more than an hour for a business that is less than a mile away. Overpriced. Not good, special or unique. If the thing you specialize in is sandwiches, then I would hope they would be pretty damn good. My bf and I both got rubens. One veggie one vegan. I don't understand why the vegan one is jackfruit instead of the veggie patty. The jackfruit was disgusting and with my first bite it all fell out. No cheese on either for some reason. Met a buddy for lunch in downtown Rochester, MI. I'm not very fond of small diner like places, but this place had a pretty cool feel to it. Took our order quickly and the 'order taker' was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. I had the Salmon Burger, PHENOMENAL Cooked perfectly and was YUMMY. I find it very hard to eat healthy in michigan @ restaurants. This place though, is one that I can depend on. During my visit, I got a half-sized steak salad. A great deal at 8 bucks, with a good amount of meat. The meat was a bit over-done, but I guess in the future I can ask that to be changed. I also cheated a bit and got some onion petals - I believe it was 4 bucks extra for a heaping plate of them. I ate a 1/3 at the restaurant, and brought the rest back. Took me two days to finish the leftovers! There is an extensive menu of sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit juices and smoothies. Would definitely be back! Parking - on Main st, there is paid parking, but behind Main street (as in, the area behind this restaurant), there's multiple hour parking that's free and seems rather plentiful. read more

I have gone here 3 times so far and every time has been 5 stars. We have only ordered off the vegan menu and have not been disappointed. The best vegan cheesesteak I've ever had. The service is always great. I do appreciate how honest they were about wait times, 2 times were very busy and they were on top of everything. A favorite in downtown Rochester with a veggie friendly menu. I work next door and have eaten at chomp near 50 times. The staff is very friendly and happy if not eager to go off menu and make anything you like. I am a veggie and Chomp offers both a veggie patty as well a black bean Burger. Their veggie Reuben is fantastic. The food menu is very diverse vs. the previous restaurant at this address as they have a full kitchen as opposed to offering cold sandwiches or cooking on a hot plate. No offense to the previous juice bar. I just want to be clear that it is more a small restaurant then a juice bar. I look forward to many more meals at Chomp! read more

Love, love, love Chomp! Their food and portion size are really good, and their homemade soups are so good (they will give you a sample if you ask). My favorite is the black bean quesadilla and their bacon pumpkin apple soup. I really love their little outdoor patio too. A few things I do not love is the price. I do think that overall they are pricey for what it is. I am beyond shocked at how long it takes to receive your food after you order it (for simple things like a wrap, or a salad, or fries). I also do not love that you feel obligated to tip, even though you are paying at a cash register, and often I am taking my food out of the restaurant. Even when I am eating in though, it is not like they are doing much to drop off the food at my table. It is not like anyone checks on you to see how things are and refills your drink, etc. With all of this complaining, I am still giving Chomp 4 stars. It is because their food is that good, and they deserve it. (Really have hope that they could get that 5th star some day with some alterations in their service and perhaps a little bit of lowering prices). read more

This place may be small, but their sandwiches are amazing. Being gluten sensitive, they also offer gluten-free bread, which is a plus for me. While I would not recommend it for someone with celiac disease. The staff is very friendly and it is easy to get a take-out order. Love this spot for lunch. The Nancy is my go to sandwich. Sandwiches are excellent but the prices are a little high in my opinion. All the food is by itself, chips/fries/pop all extra no combos offered. Usually super busy around lunch time and you have to wait for a table and then even longer for your food. Chomp is stellar on all fronts! We have been here 2 times and will be going back on a regular basis. Let's start with the tasty yummy smoothies! Our fav is the chocolate banana peanut butter. It is so creamy! We also like Berry Blast. Our kids love those! On the food items; all ingredients are fresh! This really makes each item taste that much better! Our kids eat the grilled cheese sandwiches every time. The bread is moist and not dry and it's not overly loaded with cheese either. My wife had a salad which was fresh and the dressing was home made. I had a wrap the first time I was there. It was delish! And the second time I had a chicken burrito. It was very good too. I've read some complaints about the service but have never had an issue. It's laid back and casual. We recently tried their breakfast and were not disappointed.
