I heard my name screamed from the back hallway, and I ran to the door. He said the door was too heavy for him to open and wheel himself out to the lobby. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THESE INHUMANE PEOPLE!!!!! She was professional, caring, and provided great service. The only issue I have is with the lady at the front desk, whose name I believe is Lorena. She came across as very rude, although that may simply be her personality. Unfortunately, I had two separate interactions with her within the past week, and both left me with the same impression. On another occasion, I brought my son in after he was hit in the face with a basketball and busted his lip. I called ahead to ask about the wait time and explained the situation. Lorena told me that if he needed to be seen, I would need to come in and wait. I understand that wait times can change, but I simply asked whether there were a lot of people waiting at that time so I could make an informed decision about whether to come in immediately or consider my options. She told me that she would not provide that information and repeated that I would need to come in and wait if he needed to be seen. I want to emphasize that the medical care and service I received were great. My concern is specifically with the customer service and friendliness at the front desk. A little more patience, kindness, and willingness to communicate would make a big difference. I will absolutely return if I need to, because I was pleased with the care provided. However, first impressions matter, and for some people, that first interaction can be the lasting impression of a facility. The whole appointment seemed very rushed, dont get me wrong I understand theres a lot to go through in an establishing care appointment but no where else have I felt THIS rushed to get through it all. So rushed that I skipped over the main reason I was even getting a new primary which was to potentially get a referral to a nutritionist for my high A1C and to sign a work release form. So she leaves the room abruptly after signing the medical release, apparently we were done with the rundown and the appointment was over. I go out to one of the assistants at the desks and say, I have a few questions about my A1C that werent addressed. Annoyed, the assistant said she would let the doctor know to come back around after she was done with her other patient or task or something. I finished my entire intake form and waited a good 20 minutes total. As the time kept ticking I thought they mightve forgot about me so I stepped outside of the exam room just to find out that apparently they did. Both the doctor and the assistant are sitting infront of computers, eating chips & gossiping. I said to the assistant," I will just figure it out myself." And left. Gave my intake form to the other desk attendant and left. I dont think Ill be back either. Out of everywhere Ive been all over tucson, this was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at any banner establishment ever. I typically really like banner offices, (banner hospitals and ERs had a bad lawsuit back in like 2022-2023 and botched my moms leg trauma stitches so I dont ever go there for emergencies) but this office, felt like it had worse quality of care than the hospitals. Like patients are just little lab rats to round on before you can get back to your normal tasks. I did not feel like they saw me as a human, rather just their job; which was extremely out of character for banner offices to me. I notice the Banners on houghton around rita ranch are the ones that have the most people with disengaged, careless attitudes. From the nurses to the doctors, they all care about people and being a safe and welcoming place to be treated. The wait to be seen and treated is quick. We ended up staying for several hours, as they needed to run follow-up tests three hours later, but the experience was as comfortable as it could be. We had a private room with a TV, which helped make the wait more manageable. They also gave him a folder with all of his test results, making it easy for him to follow up with his regular doctor. They did an IV iodine and she immediately went into cardiac arrest! They called EMS who did CPR on her for 12 min and finally got a pulse before arriving at the hospital. NO ONE CALLED HER EMERGENCY CONTACT! Who is actually my 81 year old father!! He spent 5 hours searching for her, calling her primary, the hospitals and finally found her. She was on life support!! Imagine this, your mom goes to the doctor, almost dies, no one is called and by the time he figures out where she is he can't drive to see her because it's dark outside! He had to wait until the morning to see his wife. Now also imagine IF she did pass away. Imagine how SHOCKED my father could have been. He could have had a heart attack. They still have her belongings. They never gave them to the EMS so she arrived without a wallet, purse or way to identity her! Yesterday my father had to retrieve her car which was still in their parking lot. He is 81! Luckily they had an extra set of keys. However her phone, purse, wallet are STILL INSIDE THE OFFICE AND NOT ONE PERSON HAS CALLED TO GIVE HER BELONGINGS. This is on top of NOT CALLING EMERGENCY CONTACT AFTER SHE WAS TAKEN AWAY IN AN AMBULANCE! What about the iodine? What kind of records do you have that prove she isn't allergic prior to administering? So many questions and ZERO communication or concern! Run fast away from this place!
